hate to say it but European tourist aren't that keen either and are in decline, Vietnam Cambodia Philippines are all becoming more popular while Thailand instead of improving is getting worse, from decreasing tourist safety to increasing violent crime it paints a very dim picture, not to mention the poor exchange rates with an over inflated baht. I honestly don't get it, warching a 55-60 yo farang standing across the road from spoons on soi buakeow spraying people going past on motorbikes, what does this adult child think he is contributing to society ???, what pleasure is he getting out of it. I can understand a big water fight going on in a busy location were a crowd of people are spraying eachother - but this ?, i don't get it

I beg to differ, maybe in isolated places like soi 7/8 it goes on past 8pm which is easy to avoid but when it goes into other areas like buakoew a main route to everywhere then impossible to avoid I have nothing against songkran but as reflected in this thread it is the 7+ days in pattaya that pretty much everyone here disagrees with, I have attended songkran in different locations and not one goes on for days, Hua Hin was one day - bangkok two days etc etc, pattaya is quite frankly a horrendous experience
