  1. Irrelevant....as they really don't a term because they [largely] weren't elected.
  2. The revered institution still has a subliminal pull on the population. It is what it is.
  3. All of which promotes the clear contradictory. These duly appointed [not elected] members shouldn't be voting in any measure.......as they are illegally bound and non grata. the system is a farce and yet continues to pretend that it isn't.
  4. If one can find a democracy anywhere. Been out of the fashion and practice for quite some time.
  5. When these folks speak of a private sector, do they mean corporate sector?
  6. Personally, don't think there would be much difference - regardless of government or invented political ideologies.
  7. Numerous archaic articles within the constitutional framework need to be revised or stripped permanently, if one really wants change - otherwise, all moot and rhetoric.
  8. Certainly when the election process is/was a bogus event from the start.
  9. indeed. As it's always been. I rather doubt very much that this might be the Old Guard's last gasp or any suggestions thereof. Just a momentary glitch or bump in the road. Any reasoned logic will surely expect them to regain their dominance, in one form or another, before too long. Tradition.......and as long as this embedded tradition is able to force it's will on society and the situations, it will always continue as it was. Most paradoxical is that these particular circles of promoting change and whatnot don't truly pursue any real actions or finite proposals to stem the ever present tide [sort to speak]. I'm finding this whole cycling and contradictory theatre for amusement sake. Articles and analyst such as the above are almost always way of the mark - in scope and reality. Almost innocent in it's very nature. Last gasp? I think not.
  10. Yet, there are more situation than not that don't fit into this neat and expected stereotype [and myth]. Every situation and experience will be different from the next. Don't seem to be terribly observant after 30 years......or you don't get out much. Broad exposure and experience is everything.
  11. Better late than never. Appears that AOT, and other pertaining authorities, are finally seeing the light that Thailand requires 2-3 major int'l airports for our busy times. U-Tapao and Don Mueang are being processed to being upgraded to this standard. Remember what DM was like before Swampy was built? The only game in town and over extending itself to int'l/domestic traffic.
  12. Details of this nature are usually swept under the rug from all memory.
  13. The old romanticized version of Aed [the 60s/70s], not the contemporary establishment-based Aed. He sold out some time ago. A shame.
  14. Hidden skeletons - everyone has 'em. Especially within the political and corporate world. Even among our presumed golden boy, Khun Pita. A deeper investigative research might prove enlightening [or not]. Guessing that he's not much different from others in these hallowed and revered circles. Mai phen rai - don't wanna spoil or usurp the ongoing bandwagon. Just let it go.
  15. Yes, of course. Though, I find it much more interesting to note the obvious omitted/missing whenever such a distinguished list comes to our attention. The true [influential] top dog wealth and protected circle will always be conveniently left off of any comparatives of this nature. I wonder why? ????
  16. I believe one will find that this conditioned practice has become terribly commonplace the world over - especially within the framework of the more developed medical/healthcare systems. People run off to emergency rooms, doctor's offices, clinics unnecessarily......almost always for such trivial and non-essential reasons - putting a load on already overworked, strained and understaffed systems [everywhere]. Adding to the hardships of all, the abundance - and the unnecessary prescriptions thereof - of pharmaceuticals is made easy.....yet, preventive care or alternative treatments are never explored......especially within the realms of modern Western allopathic practices.
  17. Well known understanding......particular Farang circles always knows what's best for Thai folks. ???????? Blessed to have such Farang-centric assistance at their side.????
  18. The overwhelming percentage are much too easy. There's no hope.
  19. So much for the expert prognostication that we were gonna see a drier July. Hah! Been raining here everyday in July.....the immediate and long-range forecast [locally] is calling for continued rain - as it would be this time of the year - leading up to the second wave of August through October. Experts.
  20. Instead of mincing semantics, we just as well refer to it as it really is: Plutocracy/Oligarchy. The practice and status the world over. Full Democracy. Partial Democracy. Whatever.
  21. Or.....any Anglophone country. Ever examined their [collective mindset] their foreign immigration/visa laws and regulations?
