  1. Come on red supporter, where are you - your pin-up boy is being ripped to shreads here and needs your support . Hurry before he gets depressed and cuts his own head off

It becomes evident more and more each day that this caretaker govt is losing credibility.

The election, the rice farmers, business leaders, it's all going from bad to worse for the Thaksin side.

It must be sinking in to the TV Redshirt fan-boys that defending the indefensible is a poor tactic to choose.

I predict it will be very difficult for TS and clone to keep the gang together for much longer and more second tier underlings will be jumping ship.

  2. ...........700 Billion.............where has it gone.........

Hmm...didn't Thaksin recently brag about how the govt has returned $1 billion of his illegally gained money?

Be nice if someone could pass this on to the rice farmers wondering where their money has gone!

Also mentioning in passing that the PM, who can't find money to pay them has a personal fortune of over 600 million baht.

One day the poorer folk of Isaan and the north will wake up to how this greedy family has used them and, hopefully, make living in Thailand an impossibility for the whole clan.

  3. Well, she's partially correct. The problems inside her government are making it difficult to secure a loan. But, when was a loan ever part of the rice-pledging scheme? It wasn't supposed to work that way. And, even when it was obvious the whole program was underwater, she didn't lift a finger to seek funding until the farmers began their protests. Yingluck, go secure a loan from big brother, if this is such a credit-worthy project.

    Absolutely!

I'm beginning to think the dissolution was a fantastic opportunity to get out of the rice scam tsunami for PTP.

  4. Classic dirty trick of Suthep and his insane followers. Spread baseless rumors in order to discredit the government and the supporters of democracy.

Disgusting yellows. Everything and any dirty trick is good to attack their opponents...

Go easy on that Thaksin KoolAid brother.

When I read your post the voice in my head turns to Smeagol speaking.

If you bother reading the TV updates, you'll see the police spreading baseless rumors regularly in order to discredit people trying to overthrow corruption.

  5. You have a short memory. I don't. In 2010 it was the red thugs along with Jatuporn, Natawut, Arisman, the man pulling ALL the strings Thaksin, and their followers, including irrational farangs, that made ME want to vomit.

Yingluck's "soft approach" has solved nothing. Neither did Abhisit's "soft approach" in the first two months of the Red fascist disturbances in 2010. Remember, Abhisit offered fresh elections then as well, that were completely rejected by the Red fascists.

I don't see how any of this ends until the Shinawatra clan are completely removed from Thai politics. Surely the farmers of Thailand can find a more honest and less self-serving champion who won't completely enrage other elements of society with arrogance and corruption?

    Excellent post.

An interesting point. If you ever discuss the changes made in the north-east and the north, with folk from those areas, they will tell you that everything came from Thaksin, not their local PPP/PTP representative, but from Thaksin himself.

It's a personality cult that rivals the North Koreans. And as such, he does rival someone else.

The folk from upcountry can't see past Thaksin. They can't organise themselves politically independent of HIM. He is the pied piper of Isaan.

  6. Why is it the red supporters can go around shooting, bombing and creating mayhem without too many worries, but as soon as PDRC member discharges a firearm (for what ever reason) all the TV reds jump on the band-wagon with pictures, accusations and the usual nonsense demanding police involvement, arrests etc., but awfully quiet when its the reds involved. and what seems to be the BIG problem with walkie -talkies.

Give it a break reds, find something constructive to discuss.

The TV Reds are still miffed that their little revolution peaceful gathering in 2010 got squashed by the army.

I've yet to hear one TV Red make a negative comment about the protest leader who was assassinated in plain sight of the police, who did nothing as usual.

No, according to the TV Reds, if you protest outside a voting booth, you're fair game to be killed and the murderers deserve police protection.

Nightly attacks by cowards? All fair game according to the TV Reds.

OK. We will give you a break. But i guess you are to scared to go to the poles and cast your vote ? What do you have against a democarcy? Why is it you want a dictatorship????????

Thanks for the break. I'll have a large, flat, white and a raisin muffin.

I'm intrigued. Why would anyone go to the poles to cast a vote? (Warsaw is such a long way to go!)

Until they make me a citizen here, I can't vote anyway.

And if I could vote, I would want to vote for someone who I thought would act with integrity and honesty. Haven't seen one candidate that fits that criteria in all the time I've been here.

So, if your view of democracy is allowing a convicted criminal to install his sister as PM and run the country from abroad, all the while helping himself to billions of the country's wealth, then I guess I'll have to say I want nothing to do with your idea of democracy.

I would like to see corruption eliminated from Thailand, the red shirts would like to see it continue for their master in Dubai. Pretty simple choice if you ask me and it has nothing to do with a dictatorship.

  7. A lack of public awareness is hardly a problem; the majority of Thais are all too well aware of the existence of corruption, and are, apparently, happy to benefit from it. The problem in the case of the public is the same as that of the politicians - a lack of will. And the public demonstrating the will to tackle corruption would be much more effective than any action that politicians might commit to.

I think further on from this is the lack of protection for those who would come forward and expose corruption.

There is little incentive for people to come forward as 'whistle-blowers',(in the original sense), when they can easily get a quiet visit late at night to discourage them, knowing full-well that the police they should report it to are either in on the game or equally as fearful of the godfathers.

When someone as corrupt as Chalerm can not only influence a murder investigation, but also end up as deputy Prime Minister, and the whole country knows it as fact, what message does that send the little guy?

  9. This is real embarrassing for the finance ministry. Banks don't want to get involved in the rice scheme it seems. Now what? Selling bonds? Loan from international banks?

Mr T could cover the outstanding debts to the farmers and never notice the decrease in his billions.

But would he? I mean he loves the poor folk, doesn't he?

Not even close - his net worth is $1.7 billion - up 1.1 billion last year.

The THB130 billion they are looking for somewhat exceeds that

Damn, should the good folk of TVF pass the hat around for the beloved ex-PM? Seems he's hit skid row.

  10. So, who's planning to leave Thailand. I already have a Plan B. Will probably leave for a while anyway, as it's just getting worse and worse and could explode at any time. I don't want to be around when that happens.

If you left, where would you go. My next choice has always been Phnom Penh, but that seems to be going the same way.

Malaysia maybe or Europe for a while. Oh, hang on, there's a civil war about to start there as well.

And the winner of the headless chicken award is....

I would guess you'll have the exit queue to yourself.

IMO, things at the moment are better than 2008, 2009 and certainly 2010. In fact, the situation was worse during the floods in 2011.

As for the propaganda video, I remember seeing one shortly after the red shirts left town in 2010. Similar nonsense.

Don't believe anything the sensationalist, foreign press produce.

  11. Shame, shame and more shame PDRC. You don't hold the moral high ground, rather as per your actions the polar opposite and to lay on the ground like soi dogs and threaten people " if you dare". Your acting like and are a bunch of rabid dogs trying to feast upon the people. Tis a pity you can't stand with your tails held high rather than salivating at the mouth as you are now.

Sent from my i-mobile i-STYLE 8.2 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

God, what a ridiculously, laughable post.

Steady on old boy or you'll give yourself a heart attacklaugh.png

At least the rabid dogs didn't resort to murder while making their political pointof view!

  12. Dear YK,s competency has never been in question....she is not and never has never been competent, except shopping for new shoes

The shins need a scape goat for when this all falls apart and Chalrem is said scape goat, granted a slightly tipsy one, they can put him in jail and as long as he gets his regular ear medicine he will not care

Chalerm could head over to Dubai, couldn't he?

Sit himself in a hotel lobby bar all day long drinking himself stupid wondering where the boss is!

  13. Gatherings of more than five are not banned in the whole country. We need better translation but it's only designated areas and excludes legal demonstration and elections. Speculation but I am willing to bet they won't crack down on the Bangkok protest it's a preventive measure to protect access to electoral buildings.

That's my reading of the situation. PTP have hidden behind electoral legitimacy hoping to get to the election before any s**t hits the fan.

I still am baffled as to why they dissolved parliament, considering they held the higher moral ground as the elected government.

  14. Re; 'they should have got a better shooter' etc.

I was reading that he was shot in the arm and leg, and is 'stable' condition. And also he is not a fit young guy either, so I feel that if the person was firing an assault rifle with intent to kill him they could have finished the job easily enough. This seems like it was intended to wound him, for that to cause knock-on effects among loyal followers, he returns from hospital as the noble tousled lion, a hero of the cause etc. It just seems convenient that they had that hand-cannon and he was standing there and they only tagged his arm and leg. He doesn't look like the athletic flying ninja kinda guy. Its very suspicious to me, but I could be wrong.

However I hope for his swift recovery, and my thoughts are with his family. Justice should involve courts of law, and lengthy prison sentences if a man such as this has committed crimes. We don't want a future where justice is administered by anonymous gunmen.

Oh dear! The AK-47 shoots 4-6" groups at 100m so the bullet through his arm could have just as easily got his heart. It is quite possible he may lose the limb, or at minimum lose much of its use. Trust me, nobody volunteers to get shot with this round for kudos.

OTOH hand you are right. Somebody with a little more intestinal fortitude could have driven up much closer and done the job properly. Quite possibly, shooting from 100m was somebody confusing their ambition with their ability.

Actually the shooter was aiming for the concrete post, which seems to have suffered non-fatal damage while the shooting of Kwanchai just happened to be collateral damage and completely unintentional.

Perhaps the shooter mistook the post for Kwanchai or more likely, he's been practicing for a week shooting at concrete posts to improve his marksmanship.
