  1. If there was no signage for road closure, the family should sue the county/city/dept. Of transportation, NOT Google.
  2. I use several brand of security cameras - all connected within my Amazon alexa app, and view them mostly continuously on an Amazon fire tv. You could also view the cameras from an Amazon alexa device (spot or show). And if you want a larger picture, I'd suggest an Amazon show 15. I use a show 15 to have "family chats" and to just keep watching what's happening back at home - and it makes a great traditional digital photo frame.
  3. For Thailand, the best thing is to keep it parked at home, and still no guarantees it'll stay looking nice.
  4. Personally have never had this issue. All my wife's documents in thai and the US are in her thai name, so no issues with tickets or passports. Suggest anyone looking to marry just keep everything as it is. Makes life that much easier.
  5. www.stacksocial.com Look for lifetime subscription for Keep Solid VPN Unlimited -- US$40..... for life. Here's the link. It currently shows "sold out", but keep checking it. https://www.stacksocial.com/sales/vpn-unlimited-lifetime-subscription I use it all over the world without issues with speed or streaming issues.
  6. A couple of missiles to the center of red square might make putin rethink his plans....
  7. With the royal Thai Air force doing training with the Chinese Air force, i don't see the US selling the F-35 to Thailand.
  8. The condo association should be responsible to repair that, at least that's why you pay an annual fee. However, probably faster and easier to get it done yourself. Good luck.
  9. Smart bulbs, a smart speaker (i.e.: Amazon Alexa) and turn them on and off with a voice command. No wiring needed.
  10. See if you can find this. The link is for Amazon, but might be avalanche on lazada or shopee Spytec GPS GL300 Real-Time GPS Tracker for Vehicles Cars Trucks Loved Ones Asset Tracker with App and Weatherproof Magnetic Case https://a.co/iuc6bwi

  13. You can watch several channels live on youtube. That's how my wife watches here in the US. Search for: Amarin tv Thairath tv Voice tv And others
  14. A locked phone won't work with any sim that isn't from that network (AT&T for your phone). You can get it unlocked in Bangkok at MBK, but not sure where in Chiang Mai.
  15. The 5 year elite is 600k baht, and you can extend it another 15 years (20 total) for another 400k baht. There are a few good videos on YouTube about it all. Search JETT GUNTHER and look at the couple of videos he has on it.
  16. Since all "foreigners" will be paying this 300 baht fee, will my thai citizen spouse's airfare be 300 baht less than mine??
  17. The Monk Life Project - embrace the path of Dhamma in Thailand: https://thethaiger.com/sponsored/the-monk-life-project-embrace-the-path-of-dhamma-in-thailand The thaiger had a youtube video to with someone from the temple. You can search it for more info.
  18. American citizen services at the US embassy in BKK can answer all your questions. I applied for my wife's green card (1995) in BKK, took about 6 months toget everything needed to go to the US. They gave us a sealed envelope and we had to go to a special area when we landed in Detroit (If i remember right). They opened the envelope, stamped my wife's thai passport, and we got the green card about a month later in the mail. Unless things have changed, you have to live in the US at least 7 years before you can apply for citizenship, and at the same address for 4 years i think. Some of this has probably changed in 25 years....
  19. Get the debit card offered by Wise (Transferwise), put both your home currency and thai baht on the card, then use that card in Thailand to get money from cash machines. If you use up all the money, transfer more to the Wise debit card using the Wise phone app and your regular account back home.
  20. It's my understanding, if the person the life insurance proceeds goes to is the beneficiary listed on the policy, those monies are considered "outside" the estate and not subject to any estate tax. It doesn't matter if the person is a US citizen or not, anywhere in the world. I've heard this on a Saturday morning radio show dealing with estates, taxes and such, that plays here in the DC area - WMAL @ 0900 Saturday morning Washington time
  21. Best just to disable SSH. It's only used for remote access, and you don't want anyone to have that capability.
  22. Buy a Google chromecast device to plug in to the USB port on the tv. Then "cast" anything playing on your computer to the tv.
  23. You could be geographically blocked. Have you tried to use a vpn, connecting to a server in Thailand, and then see if you can access and perform transactions?
  24. If you have a gmail account, you have a US phone number. Log in to your Gmail account from this link: www.voice.google.com Or download the voice app. From there you can see your US phone number and make and receive calls to/ from the US from anywhere in the world.
