  1. I agree Thai mothers let their kids do anything but Thai grand mothers are even worse. They idolize their grand sons. I was on a 2 day school excursion with my wife's grandson about 12 years ago. We stayed in cabins in the mountains. One kid was making a complete <deleted> of himself. After repeated warnings his mother gave him a decent slap. Next thing granny cuts loose and starts punching her daughter. TIT.
  2. The PEA app is no good to me as I will require to pay my Pattaya condo bills when I'm at my house in Bangkok. So how will I know the amount payable.
  3. I've never even had one police visit since I started using an agent 10 years ago. To me the agent fees are money well spent in keeping the immigration wolves from knocking on my door.
  4. I've seen the difference between the Thais and Thai Chinese kids in my Thai family. You wouldn't believe the difference. Thai Chinese kids are well dressed, well mannered and in their teenage years are taught the importance of a good education to get a good job. Their Thai cousins are all drop outs from school and losers. Three of them have done jail time, several years ago the youngest one was arrested for an alleged crime he was 14 yo and the arrest took place at 4 am in a snooker room in Pattaya. I ripped into his mother, my sister in law. I told her she's to blame as much as the kid. The dumb bitch just gave me a stupid look and said up to him. If that my Thai wife she would've had the kids balls for a bow tie.
  5. I was told there's a PEA office in the food court at BigC extra, I couldn't find it. Someone else told me there's a PEA office in Garden Plaza but no level was mentioned. As I haven't checked that out I'm not sure. The map showing the main office is a bit vague. It appears to be in a soi off Naklua Road. As I live near the new Best Super market it appears that the soi is an odd number.
  6. I seen an incident at my condo last month. A large Asian guy I believe a South Korean went right off his head, all the condo staff were trying pacify him but it appeared to be getting worse. So I told the female office manager to request the staff to keep away from him and call the police. Thirty minutes later a very young cop arrived alone and the guy starts on him. Another 30 minutes and the cavalry rocks up and he was forced to the ground, cuffed and thrown into the back of a pick up. This would be great deterrent if guys who brawl in public know what to expect when heavy weight BIB's arrive at the scene.
  7. While not condoning the behavior of the Aussie guys the incident was petty considering what I've seen on my many visits up north. I've been to festivals etc with my brother inlaw and he keeps me away from any hotspots. It's so easy to wander into one of these areas not knowing where the cretins hang out. When they have a brawl the number of participants is unlimited. I've seen bottles, knives, a sword, blocks of concrete. I even witnessed one hero who drove his motor bike into the brawling crowd. The bike came to an abrupt halt and he was severely dealt with by the crowd. I very much doubt he even got to a hospital before his lights went out and he was in the departure lounge on his way to Buddha.
  8. Hi there, after showering over the last week I suspect I have anal warts. I can't think of any reason why as I live with a female partner so no other sexual activity takes place. The only thing that comes to mind is the fact I've been going to a massage shop in Pattaya. No sex takes place but as I have an oil massage I shower after each massage. I was just thinking if I do have anal warts maybe I caught them off of a towel supplied. If anyone in this forum has had anal warts how did you treat it. I'm looking for the easiest method and if need be a doctor will be the last resort. Thanks.
  9. You can try everything possible like I did but if you don't live in Australia for the 2 years prior to your entitlement then you won't get it. The thing that gets me is that you can leave Australia for one day during that period.
  10. I totally agree with you. Ive been married to a Thai lady for 22 years, I took the 400K option until 8 years ago I just got fed up virtually cowering to get a one year visa. I've made visas at Immigration offices in Bangkok and Pattaya. A friend suggested to me to use an agent which even though it costs more it's money well spent.
  11. I prefer the retirement "O" visa from an agent. It is more expensive upfront but as I'm on a fixed monthly income it suits me fine. My agent does everything for me including my 90 day reports. But be aware Immigration rules can change regularly, so the agent is aware of these changes as they occur. Before you do anything have a chat with a reputable visa agent and they will explain all your options. One that comes to mind is in Soi Post Office, another in Soi Buakaow 2/3 rds of the way heading to the Soi Buakaow Market.
  12. Maybe he was carrying on like a 14 yo mummy's boy and was seeking attention.
  13. Geese would be a better choice on the dinner table than the cats and dogs that Donald Trump suggested were being eaten by the illegals.
  14. My wife comes from that area where many of the males are right off their tits daily drinking lao kaow and in many cases taking yaba. They don't seem to be bad guys but are totally bored with nothing to do. Many are lay abouts and their wives have to support the whole family. My wife has mentioned to me many times that is why the country women wait till their kids are old enough then go to Pattaya looking for a farang to support them.
  15. Talking about flooding in Soi Buakhao, going back to the year 2003 I met my wife to be and we rented a condo style place in Soi Buakhao 13 , the same motor bike shop is still on the corner. Soi Buakhao was being constructed from Soi Chayaphum to South Road prior to this it was a dirt road. Anyway me being a plumber I used to look at the road construction and the drainage. The main underground drains were full of water and it was the dry season. Maybe 3-4 months later the drains were still full with green scum on top of the water. Obviously the newly constructed drainage was falling the wrong way.
  16. Where do I stand? I'm an 80 yo Aussie and I've lived in Pattaya for the past 24 years. I never returned to Australia when I was 63 years old so I don't get the aged pension. I've been assured by the ATO as I earn nothing over the tax threshold in Australia I'm tax exempt. So what would I be considered as for taxation purposes? Would I be a tax resident in Thailand or Australia? The reason I never went back to Australia when I was 63 yo was the fact that I sold my property in Melbourne prior so I would've had no where to live for that 2 year period. I live off investments in Australia but the interest is below the threshold where no tax is payable.
  17. There's a thing about Isaarn women where the eldest daughter considers her self the matriarch of the family even though they have brothers older than them. I know about this first hand. My wife treats me as though she owns me at times even though I've paid for everything. She has 9 brothers and sisters plus two 40 yo daughters of her own and they avoid her like the plague. Whereas if I meet them at any family functions they all treat me as though I'm a VIP.
  18. So university students and children don't watch free porn online. If he had've bought a coffee or even a coke that would've have made it acceptable.
  19. The thing that I most admire about Thais is they are always chasing a PB.
  20. How would that affect me? I'm an 80 yo Aussie married to a Thai. I've lived in Thailand for the past 24 years.. I don't receive the aged pension because I didn't return to Australia prior to my 63rd birthday, My only income is money invested in a term deposit account. The annual return from that account is below the tax threshold, so I don't pay tax in Australia.
  21. The reason bar girls are exempt for taxation purpose is there's no prostitution in Thailand. So the girls work in the bars as a community service for free.
  22. Thais must think that farangs don't pay tax. We pay tax on everything that we purchase daily. What the service providers do with that money is another issue. The fact is we do spend more money daily than the average Thai also means we pay more tax with no benefits.
