  1. You’ve posted this question in the wrong forum, I’ll move it for you.
  2. I used the K+ App to send some cash to Singapore, l ticked that box and the transaction went through. A day or so later l received an email asking for a copy of my Work Permit, l ignored this email but received a follow up email some days later. l responded by saying it was a mistake, they took no action but advised that if l needed to transfer funds again they would need details of my WP.
  3. @ipeterrobinson17Your knowledge isn’t quite correct, the guidance to caseworkers clarifies that “There is no specified maximum period, which an individual can spend in the UK in any period, such as ‘6 months in 12 months’ (as long as each visit does not exceed the maximum period for that visit, normally 6 months)”. However, as has been pointed out, if it is clear from an applicant’s travel history that they are seeking to remain in the UK for extended periods or making the UK their home their application for entry should be refused. ECO’s and/or Border Force Officers will need to be satisfied that visa holders are not attempting to use Standard Visas to make the UK their home through frequent or successive visits, This guidance clarifies what UKVI/UKBA staff are looking for, scroll down to Visit: genuineness and credibility https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/visit-guidance/visit-caseworker-guidance-accessible
  4. This has nothing to do with visas outside of Thailand, I’ll move the question to the correct forum.
  5. The problem, as I see it, is that there are numerous petitions on the issue circulating so the number of petitioners is widely spread. Ministers take comfort in the fact that most of the electorate support their position, in fact many believe we shouldn’t even be receiving a pension when we live overseas. I do not support the Governments position.
  6. Non whatsoever, but it’s suggesting alternatives to those who are asking about other banks that are offering cash back on account usage, but you knew that.
  7. Chase offer cash back of 1% on most debit card spending, capped at £15 per month, for the first 12 months of opening an account. The account is free.
  8. Not my experience, I’ve added bonds to my account and my wife opened an account and purchased Premium Bonds.
  9. Yes you can, but any winnings can only be paid into a UK bank account. l have Premium Bonds and l purchased some more whilst living in Thailand, also when l informed them of a change of address within Thailand, they called me to check my identity. You can also open a Premium Bond account in Thailand, my wife has done so. You cannot open an account if it’s illegal in your country of residence, some US States for instance. https://www.nsandi.com/help/join-nsandi/using-nsandi-outside-uk
  10. You seem to be confusing Residential Address with Correspondence Address, l think there is a difference. l wonder if those who use an address of a friend or family member ensure they’re on the Electoral Register at the address, l know from recent experience that, at least some, banks use this to check that their potential new customers comply with their criteria. https://www.ukpostbox.com/blog/correspondence-address-and-residential-address-differences#:~:text=What is a Residential Address,of 183 days per year.
  11. This was the quote in yesterdays Telegraph “An FCA spokesman said lenders can set their own restrictions on accounts, but customers must be treated fairly. They added: “Banks may set their own requirements on country of residence for account holders and must comply with local law and regulation when serving customers outside the UK. Whether or not banks decide to extend services to customers outside of the UK is a commercial decision for them, but we expect them to treat their customers fairly, comply with equalities legislation, and provide adequate notice to the customer if they decide to close their account. Customers who feel they have had their accounts closed unfairly have the right to complain to the Financial Ombudsman Service.”
  12. VFS charge 1560 Baht for those who wish to submit their application without making an appointment.
  13. That’s not quite correct, the passport fee is correct but VFS don’t charge for processing applications and forwarding them to the UK. The courier fee is charged, and collected, by the UKPA for sending the new passport from the UK to Thailand.
  14. Hefty increase for ILR as well, l’m assuming these are the increases Sunak announced to fund the Civil Servants pay rises. He also said he’ll increase the NHS Surcharge, though l haven’t seen an announcement on that yet.
  15. This has nothing to do with visas, I’ll move the thread to a more appropriate forum.
  16. Please do not post personal contact details on the forum. if you want to contact a poster of a four year old post, please use a personal message.
  17. I’m not sure that migrants are welcome with open arms, many arrive in the UK illegally and we’re more or less stuck with them until they can they can be removed. If you’re detained then of course you will be put in some sort of detention accommodation, you cannot detain people on the streets. it is very difficult to find accommodation for Immigration Detainees, nobody wants Immigration Removal Centres in their back yard, people complain if they’re accommodated on barges or two to a room in a run down seaside hotel, the Government are really on a hiding to nothing, they’re damned if they do and damned if they don’t. it’s really not easy to get rid of illegal immigrants or failed asylum seekers, you can’t just put an undocumented person on a plane and expect the destination country to accept them without question. l have every sympathy with the OP and people in a similar position, including military veterans, but those are separate issue which do need to be addressed.
  18. So are you going to share the nationalities of the intended applicants or leave us to guess? Fellow members will try to advise or offer personal experiences but you really need to give fellow posters a fighting chance rather than just picking arguments.
  19. A number of off topic posts removed, a gentle reminder that this thread is about visas.
  20. Transam is spot on, the unexpired period on a UK passport is no longer added on to a renewed passport, that concession ended in September 2018. Your current passport is still valid until it’s expiry date, except for entry to countries that have a rule that a passport must be no more than ten years old when the holder leaves the jurisdiction, the Schengen Area is one of those jurisdictions. It wasn’t an issue when the UK was a member of the EU, but it’s something that became an issue once we left, we were warned that as third country nationals we no longer benefited from the concession, it would seem the benefits outweighed the inconvenience.
  21. They certainly would send to Hua Hin from their Bangkok office, l suspect they would also do so from Chiang Mai. When she applies she would pay a nominal fee for courier delivery (they send EMS) and she would also write the delivery address on the envelope, so assuming you already have the address, l don’t think there would be a problem. My wife applied for her visa earlier this year and was going to collect from Bangkok as we had a new address, she later asked if they would sent to our new Hua Hin address, and they did.
  22. It wasn’t really a suggestion, l was pointing out their disclaimer following the advice from the guy who posted link.
