  1. what are their benifits having a yellow book?

it's just some sort of residence certificate that doesn't expire, it take off the need to see face to face the bib(and pay) everytime you need that certificate, lets say to buy a new car or whatever, and you can use it in the future if you intend to take citizenship.

Apparently you can listed on it in two different way, one of which is the "head of the house" which apparently have the power to remove names from the household, so i am wondering if a yellow book can actually be cancelled on this way without the holder even to know it?

  2. Nope, I have cash sitting here months trying to buy one but they keep telling me "You need work permit, all falang need work permit or cannot"

Well, seems you are dealing with some of the finest elements of the thai society, just give them what they deserve by going and buy it from a more honest person, those cheat/scum are the plague of an otherways wonderfull country.

Ohh and don't forgot to stop to say hello to her with your new shining motocy to say thanks, let her liver explode biggrin.png

  3. The best thing you can do, is to go to your local office and ask them what THEY require from you to issue a "thor lor 13" (spelling?), as every office interprete the law as they wish, have that list written down by one of them and be ready to show it up back to their face as soon as you got all the listed papers and they try to tell you it is not ok.....if you still experience hostility, try Issan Lawyers as they seems to have a large experience in dealing with just such cases....

  4. Check your rear view mirrors all the time, as death generally comes from behind.....

I am quite sure that the vast majority of thais don't even know what the real use of those mirrors is, and only see them as an extra accesory for their vanity, have a look around and you will see so many of them just checking up their face on them (men included), then, when the time to use them arise, they just comes into the road lane without looking in any other direction other then the road just on front of them.

They see our use of mirrors as an oddity, one day i even got mocked up by a young couple on their motocy because they can't understand it, it was fun though, i hope they will not find out what the mirrors are for the hard way...

  5. Just an observation....if a bed frame size matching your requirements isn't available in the local markets, doesn't that mean that you will also have problems to find a matching mattress and mattress covers, etc?? wouldn't be easier to go for something which is easily available instead?

  6. Friend of mine stopped to help someone who was knocked off their moterbike and got accused of causing it.

That's great eh? It's not surprising anyway, being aware of how the locals behave, this just show coherence.

I will still stop if i see anyone in need, perfectly aware that very likely not even a simple "thank you" would be said, having done something good and the feeling that comes from it already is a reward.

If however somebody it's so dishonest and evil to do something like that, then an even greater effort should be made to make them feel on their skin that those act of cowardice can be even worse of whatever accident might have already happened to them.

There are already many mini-cameras on sale for car and motocy, they can act as a sort of "black box", unfortunately they are overpriced for what they do, but if you are good at diy, making something better and cheaper shouldn't be that hard, i am thinking about it from a while now...cool.png

  7. Thai drivers seem to have no respect at all for riders of motorbikes.

To me it's not about the kind of vehicles they are driving, the problem is whom are driving them, and thinking again, even without a machine, they will still be a danger for theirself and the others...biggrin.png

  8. but don't expect anyone to appreciate your efforts.

Yes i am quite familiar with this local trait, if you show proper manners and respect, or just being nice or give away something, usually they will just think that you are stupid and they are being clever, trying to take even more and ready to give you a free stab at your back at the earliest opportunity, but all with a smile in their face eh!

  9. I suggest same attitude prevails with Soi dogs, loved by many Thais and westerners, but with zero responsibility

Mate, talk for yourself before making such statements!

Personally i adopted 2 stray dogs and currently still taking good care of them, this includes having paid from my own pockets to make sure they will not moltiplicate their numbers, i also do lots( well, just much more of anyone else around here at least) to take care of what is around, not because my neighbours are people which deserve this, but i still do!

  10. if you do nothing illegal, do you have to fear if somebody follows your moves ?

So you have no objection to me installing spyware onto your PC? Or if someone knows where you are every moment?

The problem it's not really knowing everything about everything and everybody, that would actually help to get rid of the bad people very quick or simply re-educate them, the problem is that the rules/law are applied differently and often unfairly, so, untill this major issue is actually solved, we will be much better off with a higher level of privacy, otherways it will be just an additional weapon in the wrong hands.

Personally i would advertise as much information as possible about this terrible crime in the hope that someone will come up with some piece of information to bring these killer where they deserve to be, someone somewhere might be able to help, if we just keep everything hidden we are losing many chances...
