  1. Need to organize a weekly poker game.

Is it legal here? i see cards for sale even at 7/11, but i can't remember to have ever seen thais to play cards in public, i did see some of them to play some strange game years ago, with a printed mat on the floor, i can't remember if they were using cards or not, but it was a weird situation because it was in the back yard of a private house, and someone told me to speak slowly because apparently the bib is on the chase for those kind of games???

The only game they seems to play everywhere is some sort of "Checkers" ?

  2. Ohh c'mon guys, see things from a different prospective, Thailand could become the "Hub of Oxygen"!....how? with a government imposing every person to breath only purchased canned oxygen and locking up the trasgressors, which by breathing the now illegal poisoned air, are becoming a major burden to the state coffin.

I can see how TAT would be bragging abroad about the planes to Thailand always being full....because as soon as you are out, you got to pay for your oxygen, so better stay on the plane and keep breathing the free air there laugh.png

  3. The unwillingness to sell a unit for the sake of having a display model is comical when it comes to running a business (in my opinion).

    Good observation!

I came across this sort of attitude many times here in Thailand, a fair number of local sellers, will make you feel as you are an annoyance to them from the very first moment you step inside their shop, interrupting whatever else they were doing (watching tv,chatting up on their phones, reading magazines, etc.).

This is not limited to "displays" items only, but to everything they have for sale, as their ultimate purpose doesn't seem to be to sell their products, but only to be there as to "appear" to be selling something, and they can get really frustrated by the idea of having to refill that empty space again, as that would involve some sort of "work" from their part, so it's just untinkable!

Some clever ones even resort to stop re-ordering items that were selling too quick, no jockes here! biggrin.png

  4. Will it have a "kick start" option too or only the electronic ignition? I have been looking for a while for something bigger than the Nouvo 135 but that still look and sound as a scooter, i don't like the noise been made from the bigger bikes

  5. True Vision decided to interrupt normal trasmissions with a warning that their broadcasting would be interrupted by some natural occurring event, they deliberately achieved this interruption of service for almost 10 minutes.

I guess that to carry on as normal and show the message at the bottom of the screen would have been too much for them, after all, if a problem it's been expected to happen, then it's better to make sure it really happen by creating it by yourself, so no ones loses faces, great True Vision! truly thai clap2.gif

  6. I suggest you to simple move out from the North and come down here in PrachinBuri, these are the true green hearted thai! almost no more burning of rubbish as they have just discovered how much easier is to dump all their crap inside plastic shopping bags at one of the many pieces of land on the side of the roads, it's seems to be the new trend!

  7. In Prachinburi there are lots of new buildings too, but many are still empty from years, some have never been completed and despite this, they are still building up new ones....

I also noticed that the cost of the iron around here almost doubled up right now, last year a piece costing 1.150B jumped to 1.500B and 5-6 months later went back to 1.200B, now they reached 1.900B.

  8. If you apply for a non immigrant visa abroad, based on marriage or retirement, when you arrive in LOS, you must apply for EXTENSIONS to your existing visa (the one you entered the country on) - not a new visa. Got it?

Logic says that an "extension" should start from the moment your "Visa" expires, so you extend that date, until then, you are still using the Visa you have, no?

And by the way, you (or anybody else) don't have to compulsorily apply for an extension, you can choose to go for any other Visa option that might apply to your personal circumstances (tourist/student/etc Visas)....

  9. A visa can not be extended, you can only get a new visa.

When you enter Thailand you get a permission to stay, which is something entirely different from a visa. This permission of stay is what you can extend, not the visa. A visa is only a permission to travel to Thailand. Not a permission to enter and stay in Thailand.

My understanding was that a "Visa" it's a permission to stay in a country for the time stated on it and that get double checked at the entry point and might be refused too.

I have never been asked to produce my "permission of stay", official are always asking to see the "Visa", where would this permission of stay show up exactly in the documents i have to produce? laugh.png

    Edit:

    Google:

    vi·sa/ˈvēzə/

Noun: An endorsement on a passport indicating that the holder is allowed to enter, leave, or stay for a specified period of time in a country. Synonyms:

    vise
