BBC HD is only available for Cable viewers AFAIK.
totster
I am on cable and have TWO BBc News Channels.
According to the listing Channel 113 is BBc New in HD but in fact it is CNN HD (very good quality)
Channel 114 is (according to the screen menu) BBC World News HD (the listing says CNBC) and it is NOT in HD
Channel 116 is BBC SD and same quality as Channel 114 (according to the listing it is Bloomberg)
-
btw, in case you need it, I found the new channel listings since the change yesterday...
I don't want to complain too much but many of the listings are wrong. Check the news section... many of them are mixed up. Even the digital cahnnels are not all as advertised in the listing.

The BBC was never HD
You are wrong. I've been watching BBC in HD for a couple of months.
It was on channel 165 on cabel and was very good quality.

I have just noticed that in the new program guide True advertise BBC World News HD as being a new channel.
That certainly isn't true (No pun intended).

Nope. All is well here.
Note: all the new Thai channels (numbered from 11-46) they are not HD even if the name says HD.
That's strange.
When I change channel to 114 it says BBC World News HD on the true display at the bottom of the screen, but the picture is SD quality.
Before the change BBC was in beautiful HD. The same goes for Food Network Channel.
I'll have to contact True

I have only just turned on the Tv and tried BBC World News. Channels 116 and 114 (Both BBC World News) are of exactly the same quality.
It says HD on the display menu but the picture quality certainly isn't HD.
I then tried Food Network HD and that isn't HD either. I can't be bothered to try other channels right now.
Anyone else having this problem?

His insurance company will pay for all damages up to the insured amount. And maybe some other restitution will be paid. And that will be the end of it.
Really the way it should be I think. This man will never forget this, and it will haunt him. Forever. No sense and damaging more lives by dragging it out. Like some places in the world. Past is past.
If it was in the west you'd be right. He'd never forget but TIT and Thais DO forget.
They have this uncanny gift to block bad things out.

NO COUP because a coup is what Thaksin needs at this moment, and they are not going to please him and his lawyer.
A coup followed by havoc, violence, and fire caused by the red-shirt militia is the only possibility for the Prince of Darkness to come back to Thailand, in the middle of the confusion created by the smoke and ashes. His lobbyist (and FB) would make sure that he is been seen as the "saviour" of the country when he returns.
You are right. Thaksin would love a coup so he can tell the whole world how badly he has been treated.
The army is quite right not to stage a coup right now. A coup would also nullify all the court cases that are in progress.

The gunman was immediately apprehended by other security guards for questions.
I like the way he apprehended by other security guards for "questions".
Shouldn't he be handed over to the police (I mean real police) or are these guys the "new police"?

Pizza company medium super deluxe panpizza. Take medium because a large is not crispy.
Love this pizza and throw the ketchup away, use the oregano.
I eat this sometimes although I had never seen anything like that until I came to Thailand. It's not what I would call pizza. (In fact I remember reading somewhere something about The World Pizza Association wanting Pizza Company to drop the Pizza from it's name as it wasn't classified as real pizza.)
My idea of a pizza is with a thin crispy crust and just a little topping.
My favourites are Bacco (Sukhumvit 33) and Sol Mio (Thong Lor soi 19).
For those who say pizza is a sickly cheese pie then they haven't tried real pizza. You can determine yourself how much or what kind of cheese you want.

It's amazing that none were wounded and arrested.
Sadly they all died.
Yes they were all criminals but they deserved a fair trial.
-
Good luck to that, they're a law unto themselves
I agree.
I often hear "After 5 pm double price"
"After 4 pm double price"
"farang big (80 kg) double price."
I used to take motorcycles home from BTS for 20 baht. Suddenly went up to 30 baht. They explained that if I walked the last 10 metres around the corner I could pay 20 baht.
Wife tried and paid 15 baht.

Have you checked online that immigration has received the notification?
Take your EMS receipts to the airport as a precaution.

I just stumbled upon this video.
It's interesting to see how much Bangkok and Thai people have changed the last 50 - 100 years.

i think Foodland is te best place to get tonic is Foodland.
I have seen them come with a couple of cases and they disappear within minutes.
-
I don't why but tonic often disappears from the shelves. Sometimes it's available in small bottles.
Ever since the floods it's been very difficult to find tonis so now I usually buy tonic every time I see it and have maybe up to 30 cans in the store.

Also what the hell do the UDD think they are doing by making the police official UDD guards? Who happen to be paid by the taxpayer, and let's face it, I doubt many reds pay tax.
This red cop should be fired and all his superiors.
I really can't wait for this new government.... Heads are going to roll all over the place and when the shakeup occurs we will have loads of great things to read.
Especially looking forward to the outlawing of the UDD and the arrest and imprisonment of all its leaders. Also Tarit and Chalerm's retribution.
I can see 7/11 running out of popcorn and beer in 2 weeks time.... better run out and stock up now.
Anyone in this country can buy and wear police uniforms.
I was in BIG C. Lad Prao and the number of "police" working for the red shirt radio was unbelievable.
There is an old guy (60+) on my soi who wears a police uniform and he just loves riding up and down the soi controlling the traffic. He even takes care of cars (for a small fee) when their owners visit the pubs.
There should be a law against posing as a police officer as there is in many (most) other countries.

I've now been told I can work as a chef and to invite friends to come to Thailand with 'baggage', be middle man for the contact. My uncle is one crazy fella. What to do!!!!!

Sounds very dodgy to me.
Do you have a degree or any other qualifications?
A qualified Thai chef would be very happy with a 30K Baht a month salary. Why would anyone hire a farang who could never get a work permit (as a non qualified chef)? It seems to me that maybe there is some kind of money laundering or something else going on here.
My advice.... FORGET IT!!!!!!!!!

Watched it live yesterday. I've not taken sides in this debacle but I do know he said nothing of the sort. This article is either absolute nonsense spin or extremely badly translated.Oh dear oh dear.
For all those people who said, Suthep doesn't want power himself, hmmmmmm.
Do people really want to give this bloke this absolute power to control anything. He needs to step away from the adulation of his own support.
It seems there are so many TVF members who have been taken as fools
My Thai wife and her friends where there and she says
Suthep never said any such thing
even some one is bad translating Thai, or some one is making fools out of Farlang who jump the min they her the word Suthep
The are thousands of Thais protesting and that includes my wife and her friends, who would never allow Suthep to take over the rule of the country, he is just a leader they put up with to bring the people together
Instead of jumping the gun, when do you not have the common sense to wait and see what the real leader sof the Dem Party have to say
A. He did not say he'd be appointing himself as leader of anything other than the PDRC.
B. He called on all able-bodied people to come out of their homes and celebrate once victory has been achieved ... which he expects to occur in about fifteen days time.
I saw it too and you are right ... he never said anything like that.
The readers here are so gullible. Khao Sod is a red shirt newspaper.
It is completely wrong to bring HM the king into this.

Pure and plain propaganda from Khaosod!!!!
Be very careful what you read and hear these days. Everyone is out to discredit each other.
If Suthep really had said these things he would have said them on stage in front of everyone.
Yes, he did say be prepared.
He never said he would be Coup Leader or supreme commander.

In Saud a few years back we all had to have a biometric fingerprint taken before resident permits (iquamas) were renewed. Several times, whilst leaving from Riyadh I have been asked to put finger on the scanner.....no work ....try again....no work....try again....no work......you go....... maybe will be the same here, who knows!!
Maybe almost the same...... no work.... try again.....no work .... you pay me 200 baht... you go.

Democracy at work.
1.You have the right to vote
2. You have free speech.
but...
1.vote against us and we'll not support you economically
2. Say anything against us and we'll use violence against you.
We have seen several examples of these two statements recently and let's hope this doesn't get out of hand or Thailand will not be a pleasant place to live in.

Yingluck must be crossing her fingers to be removed once and for all, she never wanted the job in the first place but she can't just quit without her brother's permission. So better hope to be legally removed and be done with it.
the vast majority of Thais will be sorry to see her go (but I guess it's inevitable) with all the judicial pressure from the ammart
FIRST female PM in Thailand and she deserves much credit - as compared to Abhisit who cowers in the corner bleating "I won't play, unless I win, - I won't play, unless I win"
Credit for what? What has she done?
She didn't do her own election campaign. Everything was done for her.
She never attended any important discussions or meetings.
Public statements are made on Facebook.
Only in Thailand!

Instead of removing them, why not change the design? Use small round balls that people cannot walk on.
