  1. Good. What those judges did was disgraceful and their decisions were condemned domestically and internationally.

    Hopefully there is justice

Yes, the decisions were condemned by PT and the reds domestically but were welcomed by the PDRC and many others.

Can you show the source for the international condemnation?

I can't recall seeing any opinions, only reporting of facts.

  2. They could start by trying to keep the buses on the left side of the road.

The last few days I have driven through the Dusit area and daily I see buses driving on the wrong side of the road forcing on-coming cars to stop and move over.

The Bangkok Mass Transit Authority's (BMTA) new regulation calling for all buses to keep to the left lane and for them to stop at all bus stops . . .

I understand that as meaning the left lane of the two lanes on the left hand side of the road.

I am talking about when the two lanes on the left hand side of the road are jammed the buses drive on the right hand side of the road.

  3. I wait for HTC M8 mini2 or Galaxy S5 Mini, because the size is close to my soon to be retired SGS2.

HTC M8 mini2 will get much better camera, than it's bigger brother.

Screen size 5'0 or more is to big to handle comfortable with 1 hand.

    Any delivery date?

My SGS2 is just about finished. I have restored factory settings, deleted apps but still often hangs or shuts down.

  4. Have you looked at the Nexus 5?

Yes I must admit it looks good and is considerably cheaper.

The camera is not so important for me but I have heard that it isn't very good.

One of the reasons I am looking at the Z2 is the extra 1 Gb of ram. I am still using a Galaxy S2 and ram is one of the problems with it. I also like the idea of the noise reduction.

  5. I am pretty sure all three of these phones are widely available here, now.

If you are in Bangkok you could go to the Mobile Expo, or pretty much any larger retailer like Jaymart, TGfone, etc to get a hands-on feel for these models.

Some mobile service providers might also have decent bundles, with services discounted up to 50%.

    Thanks for the links.

I know the specs. for all the models but I'd like to get my hands on them.

I asked one shop about the Z2 and he told me it "was sold out". I write in quotes because I then went to a Sony dealer and he told me that it hasn't been released yet and will be released on the 18th.

I don't know which on is correct.

    Anyway I'll keep searching.

  6. I have a friend who recommended this to me a few months ago.

He swears by it and says the quality is excellent, especially the HD channels and now he is seriously considering dropping True cable tv.

At that time I read several reviews on the internet but wasn't impressed. I guess I should go visit him and see for myself.

  7. I need a new phone and have narrowed my choice down to these three models.

I have a Galaxy S2 and have been satisfied with it until recently. I have searhed the market and as mentioned am now looking at these three.

The S5 is here and readily available but I feel I want to change from Samsung. I saw an advert in Bangkok Post today for the Z2 so it must be here now or coming soon. (Every time I ask about release date I get "next month, next month")

I have seen that the M8 is also on the doorsteps but the Z2 appears to have better specs.

Has anyone seen the Z2 and what is the price?

  8. I don't know about the people, but some of the dogs seem to be psychic. Our old dog was really sweet and gentle. She would lay around the shop and no bother anybody, but every once in awhile, she would jump and start barking away and shortly someone really weird or with someone wrong with them would pass by on the street. I don't know how she could tell that by their smell and without seeing what they looked like.

Haha you are probably right there.

I often walk through this little alley where there are hundreds of people walking and there is one particular dog that could be fast asleep and unaware of all the people but as soon as I approach it wakes up and barks at me and runs away.

I have never done anything to hurt it (I love dogs and have many "friends" amongst the street dogs around here.

My only guess is that at some point in time a farang has done something bad to it and yes we probably smell different to Thais for a dog.

Nothing to do with being psychic.

  9. Ok, maybe in this case the dead person was guilty but does he deserve to die for just robbing a rich guy?

If this mentality prevailed in Europe I would be dead by now.

I was once accused of a crime and some guy held me until the police turned up. I was detained for about two hours but in the meantime the police found the real culprit. I was released with an apology as I was 100% innocent.

If there had been the kind of justice that many of you guys are condoning or asking for then I would be 6 foot under now instead of enjoying Thailand.

  10. i'm surprised this type of thing doesn't happen more often. thai's know the police are hopeless so the best chance they have of justice is to sort it out for themselves.

    Welcome to the wild "east".

Yes it is happening more and more but that doesn't make it right.

Most countries have done away with the death penalty but here it seems that the rich can "murder" the poor and get away with it.

  11. Last night I experienced something that really shocked me.

I have lived in Thailand for 15 years and love this country. I admire how people often talk their way out of problems with the authorities as long as they keep calm and stay friendly.

I was walking along the skywalk from Central Lad Prao to the MRT and there was a young schoolboy sitting and playing a flute. Quite a lot of people put money in the small box in front of him. Suddenly just as I passed him I saw a security guard run up to him and without warning punched him in the face. This poor kid was probably about 15 years old and didn't see the guard coming. The guard then placed one arm around the boy's neck and proceeded to punch him. He released him and took the box with the money. He then grabbed him again and tried to drag him away , still punching him in the face and body. The boy didn't fight back.

I was told by my Thai friends just to ignore the situation and walk away. Unfortuneately the battery in my mobile was flat so I couldn't film the episode.

I really couldn't believe that a fully grown man could attack a young innocent kid in that way.

  12. Where were the BIB? Either to stop/limit the carnage the driver was committing, or to prevent the mob from lynching/stabbing him? This incident must have lasted some considerable time, surely at least one BIB must have seen or been aware of it happening.

    Useless Pratts!

The BIB were probably standing on the other side of the road watching.

I say that because I saw a similar incident a year or so ago on Thong Lor. A motorcyclist was hit by a car. The motorcycle taxi guys dragged the driver out of the car and beat him up. Two police officers just stood on the opposite side of the road and didn't bother to intervene until the violence died down.

So.... if you are ever involved in an accident..... RUN!
