  1. The bib don't see anything, if a bribe is paid. They're most likely using the same guys, who couldn't spot prostitution in Pattaya.
  2. Another good reason not to swim at Pattaya beach. When will the jet skis be banned or at least require that the renters are insured?
  3. With 30 million tourists Thailand has already reached it's maximum tourism capacity, as long as the tourists continously are stowed together in relatively few areas like Phuket, Pattaya, Krabi, Hua Hin and Chiang Mai. With 30 million tourists in a few areas, the tourists will not experience the real Thailand, which most of them are coming for and therefore will not be returning to Thailand for future holidays. When tourists have been settled in their destinations, they are all buying tours to the same local attractions, which they have only seen in photo's, where they looked idyllic with no or few people, but these places are in fact crowded with fellow tourists. Anyone who have ever visited the tiny "James Bond" Island or Maya Bay, will know what I'm talking about.
  4. If a house seller has owned a house less than 5 years or have had official adress in the house less than 1 year, there will be a 3.3% specific business tax to be paid of the appraised price or the sales price whichever is higher. If the sales price is higher than the appraised price, it's very common that a house on paper is sold at the appraised price and seller requires the difference to be paid in cash. In this particular case, a 2 million Baht cash payment could potentially save the seller 66,000 Baht in tax payment.
  5. Phuket and Pattaya have become way to violent. Visitors will soon start to select other destinations.
  6. I have usually been required to pay the estimated cost before the surgery and have used my Thai credit card for payment. My last surgery was a little cheaper than estimated, so the cashier at Samitivej Hospital Sukhumvit refunded me the difference in cash after surgery.
  7. Only screening women for HPV, seems to have little to no effect, since they keep getting it from unscreened men! How about screening both men and women for HPV?
  8. Thank you❤️. I hope that this initiative will spread to all win-riders and also delivery riders, who are swarming in quiet sois and villages round the clock, most with their exhaust systems modified to make as much noise as possible.
  9. I welcome any initiative to reduce the added sugar intake in Thailand and hope that it will soon spread to food and bakery as well.
  10. Best Foods mayo is not comparable to Hellmans in Thailand. Last time I bought from Best Foods, after a few days the mayo was no longer properly emulsified, with a thick layer of oil on top in the glass.
  11. Some sellers on Aliexpress collect vat in Thailand while others don't. I think that this whole thing is going to be a quite messy situation and eventually postponed.
  12. I can personally say that on a good day, a real girlfriend/wife who loves me will always be my preferred choice. But on other days I wouldn't mind trading real love for the girlfriend experience. I strongly believe that in a near future, many men will be tired of womens demands and select to have an AI-generated girlfriend instead of the real thing. It's definitely a better option, than having a Thai bar girl as your "girlfriend", who you speak with and send money to, but only see a few weeks in a year. I have been married for many years and I am against infidelity. I have no wish to get divorced, but if my wife grant me permission, I would consider to get myself an AI-generated mistress on the side in the future.
  13. Prostitutes in Thailand are --very different. They make every customer feel that he is very special! Be happy that you didn't lose all your money, which many others have. Next time don't fall in love with a bar girl - it worked for me.
  14. Just a few of months ago I found out by chance, that I could get significant discounts on Shopee on the phone-app, which wasn't available on the website. Furthermore I found out, that I had unknowingly also bought Shopee's VIP subscription package, which costs 54 THB a month and gives access to further discounts and free shipping from some sellers. https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQn2em-_frdAB2SKXvynHCryun0Tsc8P8rxSA&s
  15. You definitely forgot to mention the air pollution during high season. A problem that has existed for decades and are just geting worse every year: https://aseannow.com/topic/1385196-thailand-faces-escalating-pm25-air-pollution-crisis/
  16. On some tv's you can adjust the sound, so that it matches perfectly with the pictures.
  17. I predict that it's going to be fairly easy (but costly) to get a prescription from on-site doctors in the surviving cannabis shops.
  18. That would perhaps be true, if it was not for the fact, that Thailand is promoting itself as a major international tourist destination/hub!
  19. I agree. I also had to pay 5 times more than a local in Universal Studios.
  20. Better to take away their car/motorbike!!
  21. We better buy stocks in the Brown Envelope Factory, since more and larger envelopes will soon be required!
  22. Just imagine what the force could accomplish, if only they worked like that every day!
  23. Quite amazing score for a country that rely on international tourism as it's main income!
