  1. How come they can vote on policies that don't directly affect Scotand? It seem you'd like to be independent when it suits and not when it doesn't.
  2. I do believe Scotland have had a vote since 2009. Correct me if I'm wrong.
  3. Scottish Parliament is not independent in a ruling capacity, if it is why are there SNP members in Westminster? Neither is their legal system independent nor do they have an independent currency. Scotland is not an independent country. You can argue all you like. It is a fact.
  4. They are not an independent country. Neither are England, Wales or N.Ireland. Neither were any of the above member states of EU. UK were the member state. UK voted to leave. Simple.
  5. Scotland didn't have a vote. They have never been members of EU. The vote to leave was by the UK. They were the member state.
  6. Exactly right. No one can predict the future. I'm glad we agree.
  7. I remember reading many moons ago about an English woman who had been to immigration with her Thai husband. She was explaining the requirements. It caused a bit of a stir on here as many male expats cried sexism as their Thai wives were not permitted to provide financials for their stay. I remember the figures required were similar. It has possibly changed since that episode. I don't know. I've had a quick search but cannot find any details. Foreign women getting visaa for being married to Thai men must be few and far between. Every search I make refers only to foreign men marrying Thai women.
  8. The Thai man has done a runner. The post you quoted is referring to the lady applying for permission to stay based on being a mother to a Thai child.
  9. Quite correct. She doesn't.
  10. I disagree. She can only apply for citizenship with her husband's help. He's done a runner. She is trying to stay to take care of her kids. As someone already mentioned, she should have applied for citizenship after the first 12 months.
  11. I'm sorry for you being in such a sad situation.
  12. You have provided a link to citizenship. The OP is asking about what visa the lady can obtain. I would guess she does not have citizenship. The lady living near to you maybe does, hence her husband does not work. I believe, it used to be this way, the Thai husband needs to show similar amounts of money saved or earned per month as an expat would to stay in Thailand married to a Thai lady.
  13. I believe the Thai male has to show he can support her.
  14. Depends what job they apply for. Obviously to be a nurse or Doctor would require qualifications. To be a health care assistant, driving patient transport, being a porter...etc. All is needed is some on the job training.
  15. Sorry, what is your point? I don't understand the correlation between your post and mine that you quoted.
  16. Had you read the whole topic you would understand why I quoted domeone else and asked the question. Your response is confusing.
  17. Not for suggesting they only want a pass and not a high grade.
  18. No. That didn't happen. File it in the Fiction section.
  19. I would very much doubt we will ever know enough about what exactly happened prior to the ruler on the bum incident to be able to use such words as "clearly". I'm not condoning what happened at all. Just suggesting there could be more to this story than meets the eye. Similar to the many rape accusations against the rich and famous. Some have been found to be true and the perpetrators punished. Others have been found to be nothing but regret followed by an attempt at extortion or defamation.
  20. No. We must stand up for the rights of anyone getting abused.
  21. I have re read the OP twice. He said he has ONE "objection". That is his wife travelling to seminars several times a year. He explained his objection fully and asked if any others felt the same way. In doing do he has been labeled as some kind of selfish, idiotic, self centered control freak while in reality he only has concerns for his wife's safety because he clearly loves her and has concerns. All the replies needed to say were on the lines of "you are over reacting, she'll be OK" or " don't worry mate, she'll be fine" or " although traffic and driving is really <deleted> in Thailand, %%% show it's not so bad". Even though, just like winning the lottery, however low the %%% might be, it has to happen to someone. It's no wonder forums are losing their appeal when it comes to asking advice.
  22. Nothing amazing about it. It's all very simple mathematics with a little economics thrown in. No need to praise me.
