  2. I forgot in my earlier post, yes dinner time was almost always the "family together" time. Long chats after dinner. This happened later in life too, with friends who had the same habit - we used to go on and on (just chatting, sometimes no liquor either!) after diner till quite late. Today, this is almost non existent!
  3. Hi, my Honda City is having a problem with the AC. Honda wanted to replace the device fixed below the dashboard and quoted around 30K. Can anyone recommend a reliable place to get this done? Bangkok or Hua Hin/ Cha Am area Thank you.
  4. Brush & toothpaste might not do the job. I've heard that they sand the lights first, and then polish it with some compound. Just an example down below. Best is to give a professional IMHO
  5. Most of us have been raised to appreciate this day and with the knowledge it´s a day when all the family can come together - Yes, I agree 100%, it was a special day! In the good old days, friends or relatives used to visit home and spend the day - couple of drinks, lunch, tea and of course there was much good-natured banter too. Today, 'socialising' is very rare. With social media, humans seems to have go into a cocoon and find it difficult to interact in person. The 'art of conversation" has died. Further, I have a feeling, that the older we get, the more difficult it seems for some people to make new friends. It is sad, but true. I remember sometime back, on another thread, someone suggesting a AN members getting together. But the responses were all negative!

  14. How true! But we ignore this, just to get attention on social media.
  15. A British couple holidaying in Thailand discovered that some home comforts come at a jaw-dropping price abroad. I am sure when a Thai goes to the UK, they too experience jaw-dropping prices!!! Jaw dropping is usual when you travel around! Home comforts are at home.
  16. A priest offered a Nun a lift. She got in and crossed her legs, forcing her gown to reveal a leg. The priest nearly had an accident. After controlling the car, he stealthily slid his hand up her leg. The nun said, "Father, remember Psalm 129?" The priest removed his hand. But, changing gears, he let his hand slide up her leg again. The nun once again said, "Father, remember Psalm 129?" The priest apologized "Sorry sister but the flesh is weak." Arriving at the convent, the nun sighed heavily and went on her way. On his arrival at the church, the priest rushed to look up Psalm 129. It said, "Go forth and seek, further up, you will find glory." Moral of the story: If you are not well informed in your job, you might miss a great opportunity.
  17. Yes, absolutely! The stereotype exists, because it actually does exists. Exactly like racism. It exist everywhere on this planet, everyday, on almost every aspect of peoples lives. It's just that some have managed to 'hide' it very discretely, cunningly and in a 'refined' manner. Basic human traits are almost impossible to erase IMHO
