  1. Thanks Greedisgood.

Girlfriend just got me a round at Chiangmai Highlands for 3000baht. Includes Clubs,Shoes,Caddy,Buggy.

Hope this is a good deal.

    Thanks

    Well...

Green fees incl caddie fee= 1050

    Clubs = 600

    Shoes = 300 (?)

    Buggy = 600

    --------------

    2550bht

But that is an estimate on the shoes. Remember to tip the caddy. Great place enjoy !!

Wow??? I am so jealous about the golf price?? I have to pay more in my hometown. I make my two kids play at the club ( not very fancy ) Next year I fly them to Chiang mai and hope to see you all there. Thanks for posting...

  2. Chiang Rai seems to be lacking more that a few decent Farang eating places. :)

If you saw the size of some of the local farang here, you would disagree about that statement.

Some of the better places are disguised with only Thai writting to keep out the farang.

    Hello my friends

You are right about Farangs in Chiang Rai and do suggest to the owners of Better places for Menus in English then welcome all Farangs. Remember most of farangs are very nice. Only few Farangs are ugly. Farangs allow Thais to earn their living in Farang countries...some even own business and homes... I myself was able to live in Farang country for so many years...thanks for posting your honest opinion. My take.

  3. Sorry cognos, but I can't disagree with you more on this.

First, your opinion on the so-called beauty of Thai women is purely subjective. People who might agree with you would probably be the ones who gravitate here in greater proportions, just as men who like tall blondes might go to Finland or Iceland. TO say you think Thai women are beautiful is fine, but it is hardly a universal truth.

Second, women are women, just as people are people. People from all nationalities and of both sexes can turn on a dime and throw a temper tantrum. In the US, a father just ran over and killed his daughter because she was acting too promiscuous, in his opinion. Also in the US, Latina women have a reputation for having uncontrollable tempers (Latino men too, for that matter.) In Asia, Koreans have a reputation for wearing their hearts on their sleeves and acting upon that. Ditto Russians. And so o

In my meager experience, I have found most Thais to be actually less likely to act on their passion of anger than many other cultures. The mai pen rai attitude often serves to cool down emotions. But as I wrote, people of both sexes and of all cultures have the potential to erupt in to jealous rages.

    I fully agree with bonobo.

Women are women and the line between woman in Thailand and other countries is being blurred by standardization through globalization. Attitudes and behavior are influenced by family of course but exposure to other cultures will bring about change.

Sinophiles who prefer Asians or those stuck in the "Thai women are the most beautiful" are just putting their personal opinion out there. There are breathtaking women all over the world if you just take the time to explore. Rio comes to mind. Man, those women are on fire in all respects especially temper. Oh yeah, IMHO.

In my opinion, it takes two to tangle any tantrum temple?? Don't you agree?? Thanks for posting your honest question?? and honesty answers ,my take.

  4. US Customs regulations do NOT classify gold bars as currency, so the $US 10,000 rule does not apply

the USD 10k in/out declaration rule does not apply to currency only but to any monetary instrument!. if you think your gold bars are not monetary instruments go ahead and weep.

    [/quote ]

Thanks for posting and I agree with you 100%. Please make sure you declare everythings when you enter US. You do not want to sent back or have to call a lawyer to bail you out. Right now the mood of this country is not so cool...there are so many problems in US. I urge you contacting the US Embassy and ask more questions before you travel..check the State Department web site as well..Good luck... ( just use google.com )

Nothing is free in US and you have to know the way around. Any money that you do not declare can interpret as drug income...

Remember Americans use Plastic money...my take.

  5. I just don't understand Cambodia's intentions by even having Thaksin there. It almost seems that life is so dull that one needs to pick a fight with someone or something just to make it interesting. Can't Thaksin consider this a work at home job and do it from the comfort of some tropical island? What a home business opportunity, advisor to Cambodia, I wonder if he accepts Paypal? :)

Thanks for posting and I love your sense of humor...I think the Cambodian government wants the Ex Prime Minister money and business idea. However, it is too close for comfy...Now, the Thai government has to act quick before thing goes wrong. If I am an ex Prime Minister I will hang out in Dubai and have the best of life out there. Cambodia weather is quite warm and more work than having fun..my take and opinion.

  6. Update:

    24 Narathiwat schools following flooding

NARATHIWAT: -- Twenty-four schools in three districts of this southern border province were closed Friday after main roads linking to the schools were underwater following three days of torrential rains.

Pipat Manee, director of the Narathiwat Education Zone 3, said the 24 schools would be closed until water subsides.

The three districts are Waeng, Sugnai Padi and Sukhirin.

He added that students could not travel to their school because of the heavy rains.

I am so Sorry for the loss and thank you for the news.

  7. Watch this space for the flood of anti-pharmaceutical ranting and claims of "It's all hype;" swine flu is not dangerous etc. etc.

In US one thousand people died at this point. On 60 minutes one high school football star went to an emergency room and still has to learn how to talk. I hate any short but, I am waiting for this swine flu short. We have private indurance but, we could not get it unless we go to the government hospital...so many people line up everyday..my take..

  8. Give'em the bill just like anyone else, unless your business is a front for illegal activities.

We don't own any restaurants here but from friends that do, it's totally your call whether you want to treat these folks or not. I have one friend who never charges cops for JUST coffee and soft drinks, limit one per BIB, and charges for all other menu items.

    :)

    Hello all

I never see Cops in my town eat free. They have to pay as anyone else. Even one time I thought I lost my handbag ( later on I found out that I left it in the garage ) and the cop came to take a statement. I offered him a glass of coke. He said no thanks..well it almost 35 years I never seen Cops eat free...my take.

  9. Wasn't too keen at first but now I like it a lot, can be quite a healthy option. Love the roast duck as they don't palm you off with a plate full of bones and fat.

I wish we have MK in US but, we can go to a fancy Korean restaurant to sub it. Last time I went to reunite at MK with my college friends. There were so many people and we had our hard time to chat...but, the food were alright..Love the roast duck and the hot pot is healthy..my opinion

  10. This is going to be a nice little earner. I am aware that they are out and about in Bangkok as well. I know one biz owner who had to change all of their software, they had been warned though that they would be getting a visit in advance.

Happening in Chiang mai too apparently. What do these guys do when they are not having a crack down I wonder ?

Happening in Sanfrancisco Custom as well, one of my friend's friend came from a Hong kong vacation with 5 videos. The custom told him to pay the fee of $3200 or go to jail. He had no choice except gave the custom his credit card. Now, none of my friends wear fake handbags. We heard the news that we can not carry Louis Vuitton fake bags in France... he or she can get confisticate right at the airport.Be aware these designers can bus our bodies to jail at no time. For the sofware, I am not sure at this point however, I will report back later. My take...

  11. The national police chief nominees is the main proof in regard the statement quote by khun Thaksin says khun Abhisit has no leadership.

how could a prime minister nominees being rejected by cabinet.... :)

does it not show strength that he still got his man in the post despite opposition?

Abbahist is a smart man, educated at oxford, and seems to have decent morals with it. He is quite blatantly better than sum corruption carrear politician strong man only out to inrich himself, the promblem is he has to deal with such people. As his confidence increases to put his own people in to posts of power, as we can see him now doing, he should be able to push his own way more effectively and thailand can become more stable and function decently allowing investment to return.

On a side note, it would be a good thing to have 2 airports.

you are right, I agree with you 100%. Right now, the world does not have money because, the depression in America or recession as the Derm is saying. Wait for another year or two Thailand will do better. The problem of 3 provinces that never know how to speak Thai will never go away. The Government has to contain this matter. The tourists will go to Thailand no matter what?? Right now the American will not travel to Europe and Asia will pick up. Unfortunately, the last incident between the Rad shirt and the yellow shirt were really costing the world tourists to Thailand...it will not take long..I quarantee the Farangs will be back. My opinion.

  12. Next stop Burma? They could sure use some help on economics too. Perhaps another war on drugs, this time targetting producers who don't meet their export targets to Thailand.

Hello my friend? According to the American Red Cross and Non profits in America, they said the big short of Burma took all disaster credits for food, blankets, water and etc from around the world. The Burmese government put their new stickers in every box of good from UN, RedCross, and charities around the world. So, the Burmese population thought the goods came from their Dictator only. Shamed and embarassed about this regime...Plus these group of hate mongol try to genocide the small 200 hilltribes who live around the borders. Now the ugly Thais come to a picture and grab the poor Burmeses for cheap labors and sell the young girls for prostitues...( shame and I m so sick for just talking about it ) No one cares?? By the way, some Thai and Farang men even bought those young women for sex and these kids are the same age as their daughters or grand daughters...oh my??

Well, the drug will send to America for a dollar not for a baht because, the hilltribes use the money to buy weapons fighting to gain independence..The Thais ignored drug smugglers and everyone in the Northern part will not travel the drug road. The druglords can not tell who is Thai and who is the Burmese..I can get kill for being in the wrong place and a wrong time..

This is a real story and I am standing tall.

  13. this is totally amazing.. Thaksin has no shame at all. Now the Thai people are seeing exactly what he is. A greedy, insane businessman, with no cares what so ever for his people. but what the hey, Cambodia is a lot closer than Dubai, if someone was actually wanting to get rid of him. right? And I hear, it's even cheaper to hire those type of people in Cambodia. I mean, what Cambodian would give a crap about whacking some Thai. :)

You have a point and I was totally forgot about The king of Cambodia who is also has an ambition. I recalled when the 2008 summer olympics in Beijing I saw the King of cambodia sat next to President Bush and both got along real well..surprised?? ( Top Policeman and a new king ) Do not underestimate power of money. The palace will protect the ex Thai Prime Minister. Now it is not just the Cambodian Prime Minister but, the King also is in the picture as well...I stand tall for my comment.

  14. This is like a game of poker: I'll see your Phra Wirahan and raise you one Thaksin! :)

The Phra Wirahan is just a bluff.

The real point are the dispute in the gulf borders with the oil and gas. Both Thailand and Cambodia claim them.

The temple has zero value but is nice to mobilize some nationalists.

When I was 8 years old the World Court in Netherland decided to give the temple for the Cambodian...my father told me that the Ex Prime minister did not have to show up and the world court had no power over Thailand..what so ever..he was right?? But, the Thai government went to Court anyway??

Now oil and gas will be the issue and the show must go on...I am not surprised about the Ex Prime Minister who is trying to claim his power. Cambodian guy is a tough cookie and please do not under estimate both political ambition..watch out... any event occures the Thai and Cambodian working citizens will suffer the most...you and I know the big fish always eat little fish. I do feel uneasy how close the Ex Prime minister from the Thai border...

Well, Money talks and we Farangs need to do something?? talking is good start but, advising the Thais will be awesome...my opinion.

  15. This is like a game of poker: I'll see your Phra Wirahan and raise you one Thaksin! :)

Wow?? you are so smart about this thing?? The Thais never learn about Phra Wirahan...and the Cambodian government. History of the Thai always taught not to trust the Cambodian, Vietnam, Burma and Laos. Now, I am waiting to see how the Thai government is going to do with this matter??? By the way, the show must go on...and I am surprised the Economist really loves the old Prime minister Thaksin and it always praised him on and off...my take and opinion.

  16. THAI launches direct Phuket - Hong Kong flights

    phuket-The-launch-ceremony-at-Phuket-International-Airport-on-Sunday-1-nRxbNgy.jpg

The launch ceremony at Phuket International Airport on Sunday.

PHUKET CITY: -- With the high season for tourism almost here, Thai Airways International (THAI) has begun direct flights between Phuket and Hong Kong three times weekly.

An Airbus 330-300 leaves Phuket at 1:15pm on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

Return flights leave Hong Kong at 8am on the same days.

Forty-two seats are reserved for passengers in business class, with the remainder in economy.

    The service began on Sunday.

THAI sales office general manager for Phuket Chantath Srininthra said the response has been positive, with seats already booked well into the new year.

"We hope this service will meet customer needs and generate income for the company," he said.

Phuket Vice Governor Worapoj Ratthasima was at Phuket International Airport for the inaugural flight.

Thai AirAsia is also preparing to launch direct flights between the same cities 'soon' as part of its plan to establish Phuket as a second regional air hub for Thailand, Phuket Tourist Association Vice President Panu Maswongsa told the Gazette.

Thai AirAsia also plans to open direct flight service between Phuket and Chiang Mai starting in December.

Wow?? good for me because, I hate to stop in Bangkok waiting 7 hours for Chiang Mai...but, Gotlost you are right on target about Chiang Mai...will loose the tourists..Sorry guy??? I do not know why THAI decided to do it. Must be the Air Asia case I suspect, my take and opinon.

  17. nasty accident. was going to spout some drivel about living for today and not worrying so much about saving for retirement. I see all too many people saving all their working lives and having it cut short. clearly there is a balance to be struck here.

Good point, my friend. Thank you.

  18. She doesn't need any loopholes. She can easily be a full and completely legal owner of a business in America, whether she's been naturalized as a citizen or not. Something that can't be done here vice-versa. So farang aren't "lucky"... she is... or was, until she broke other unrelated criminal laws.

    :)

    OH REALLY?

    Hello My friend??

This is a serious case in my personal opinion and the suspect had a real deal with ICE agent. Not he says or she says??? Plus a grand jury indicted. open document??? as such...The suspect is a naturalization, and her right is not the same as American born.

Right now 13 millions illegal undocuments are in America. Most of them do not pay taxes and they send money approximately 500 millions back to Latin America... The American are furious because, no one wants to debate...the Derm refused to add them in Healthcare package??? ( I am sure it will add when it is a law, no one reads 1000 pages ) The Repug are furious and wow not to give an Amesty program...because, entitlements and no money for the programs...What a mess??? At this moment the ICE officers bus the undocument workers every day and no day off??? The Californian did pay free healthcare ( 25 billions ) for them while the Americans unable to get help after get lay off from work??? I hate to tell all but, I can not deny and sit around any more?? My take and opinion.

  19. So and what is a real American Breakfast then? What does it contains ? In my place I serve what I call an continental breakfast containing fried or scrambled eggs, real bacon, sausages, toast

butter, marmelade, and fresh coffee some cheese if avaiable and orange juice.

    Would that satisfy you ?

Lovely, I will come to your place when my next vacation..you serve good stuffs...I am hungry already...Good luck with your business and have a good night..( my US time )

  20. Not sure as a Sponsor if we are allowed to post here, but here goes.

The Party Shop is looking to expand and are looking for potential Franchisee's for Phuket, Chiang Mai and other high density areas of Asia.

Perfect for Farang Ladies looking to run a business in Thailand.

Out standing?? I hope Farang ladies will like to run small businesses in Chiang Mai. It is a good location as well as Phuket..Sorry I am too far from Chaing Mai. Good luck ladies..

  21. Wow?? this is so much money, and I am sure the suspect will confess to the crime. Then this person only spends 5 years in jail..what else??? How many people in the past he sold his drugs to?? How many in jails for robbing people to buy drugs?? How many people dead and lost jobs, friends, and families to drugs?? If we all have Common sense then no one buys then no one sells. How about The Thai legalizes drug for one year? Let's see what happens?? I am sure no one wants drugs no more?? Because, it is no value?? Free stuff is not okay??? Some thing has to have a value?? My take and opinion..
