  1. You say this as if Trump was a great choice, but in reality for many voters he was the only option. That doesn't mean he was a great choice, that doesn't mean he's a decent man, and that doesn't mean he's going to be a good president
  2. Yes, but they will not go after a sitting president. The best we can hope for is a prison sentence after he leaves office.
  3. I agree it was a huge con. His supporters will realize it soon enough. Most have no idea of how insincere he is. However, I find the woke thing has gone way too far. The majority are being asked to care about issues that affect 00.2% of the population, and they are emphatically saying NO. As a centrist dem, I am saying NO too. It is a part of the reason we were trounced.
  4. Well for those of us that did not vote for Trump we are still trying to digest the results, and understand the ramifications of this, and quite frankly every time I post I seem to get a ridiculous number of conservatives who are gloating and telling me how Trump has somehow reformed himself into some sort of saint. Revisionist history?
  5. I am Canadian. I came out of Regina. It works every time. Stops the political dialogue. Right now that political dialogue is extremely tiresome because it's either my conservative friends gloating about the victory, and telling me how what a noble human being Trump is, or it's my Democrat friends refusing to admit that the party and the candidate was directly responsible for the defeat. Either way it's very tiresome and the Canadian thing just shuts up strangers.
  6. You left out one very important detail, if you don't have the connections which is the case with the majority of people, cash motivates the police. So if I were in her position and I wasn't going to use a baseball bat (which I would) then I would offer the police some money to take action. I've seen it work on many occasions.
  7. I'm not typically an advocate of violence to solve problems, but if the police won't do anything, if the building manager won't do anything, if the other neighbors won't do anything, there's are very useful tools called an aluminum baseball bat or a cricket bat, and both are very effective for addressing this kind of problem and ensuring that it will never happen again. Sometimes, just sometimes.
  8. The minute he won the election all of the lawsuits were going to disappear, he has complete immunity and it doesn't matter how guilty he is, it doesn't matter how many crimes he has committed, he's off scot-free as of Victory Day.
  9. No thankfully that has not happened yet, although I do give her a lot of credit, and I think that she will probably remain very even minded even through that craziness. A serious disease is another story altogether.
  10. There is no question about what she is saying being correct. I'm saying that as a Democrat, the woke thing went way too far, the Democratic party allowed itself to be co-opted by the extreme left, and the election shows how sick and tired of people are of all the woke nonsense, all the trans nonsense, and that stuff being crammed down people's throats on a daily basis. Personally, I despise PC. And social justice authoritarianism. I think it represents alot of what is wrong with contemporary culture, and especially America today. It is a major form of weakness, when you allow yourself to be easily offended, and take everything personally. Granted, there are things that can be perceived as offensive, but allowing yourself to be offended by tiny little things people say and do is a bit much! But, the people who are offended daily, by things others say, are just weak, and would benefit by growing thicker skin. Life can be rough and caustic at times, and for those of us who have grown thick skin, it is like water off a ducks back. No big deal, at all. Think what you want to think. It just does not mean anything to those with self esteem, and a sense of who and what they are. Granted, these are just my opinions, and some will take offense to them. LOL. The US is by far the most tolerant country in the world when it comes to the whole trans, non-binary, amorosexual, decide whatever you want today, if it fits mentality. No other country is as loose, driftless, and as silly as the US, except perhaps the UK.
  11. Also, the tax laws are for worse than what Thailand is proposing.
  12. Why would I give it up? He may have won, but that does not change the fact that the man is a circus huckster. A victory does not somehow restore his decency and make him honorable.
  13. 20 years. And she has moods maybe two days a year. I have never been with someone so consistent emotionally, so steady, and so emotionally healthy in my life. I must have lucked out.
  14. It is hard to do better than that. It was one of the highlights of the entire campaign. He may have gotten elected, but that does not mean he is not insane.
  15. Great result. Looks like the father did a good deed. He did what was necessary. The community rejoices. The son is now reformed.
  16. Well we all know that everybody makes promises during a campaign, and that only a relatively small percentage of them are ever followed up. I hope that Trump's campaign promises about import tariffs are never followed up, as I believe it would destroy the American economy, hurt the consumers, and hurt thousands of American companies. It would be a huge tax hike. Some politicians are more sincere than others, I do not believe that Trump was sincere about that many of his promises.
  17. He is a liar and he's been very disingenuous about his past, he was reasonably talented at being Trump's attack dog during a campaign, but he doesn't have much in the way of a skill set for the presidency.
  18. They're eating the dogs They're eating the cats They're taking your pets!
  19. You want the first ten reasons, or the second ten? If you have to ask then there's likely nothing I can say to convince you.
  20. I have no idea where that is coming from, definitely sounds like you woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. I love Europeans, I love Europe, and I was insinuating that the lack of European tourists has been a damaging element to Thai tourism. I didn't vote for Trump so I have no idea where that's coming from, everybody on this forum knows how much I dislike the man.
  21. Thank you, back in the day I would have defined myself as a liberal, but the left wing of the party has become too extreme for my taste, and I no longer agree with most liberal policies. And I agree with a lot of what you stated.
  22. Not at all. I was just stating my opinion. I don't like the man, I've never liked the man, I never will like him nor respect him. I was calling it as I saw it, a lot of his supporters didn't like hearing a lot of the facts that I was stating but I'm anything but a feminist. I didn't eve like Harris. But I did vote for her over Trump. Perhaps that means I don't suffer from any misogyny? And I am anything but entitled, and I'm anything but a Karen type. Although I do find that very amusing, thanks for the laugh.
  23. God forbid. Vance is not fit for the job on any level.
  24. As a Centrist Democrat I can and will say that it appears to have been a fair election, Trump won fair and square by a margin of at least 5 million popular votes, and the public made a statement. The Democrats have failed, the party is broken, and they must take responsibility for this. Throwing out crazy conspiracy theories, and being a sore loser is not the answer at this time. We must graciously accept defeat and if possible try and fix what is a completely broken Democratic Party. Of course it didn't help that they didn't get Biden to move aside two years ago, and it didn't help that Harris only had 3 months to run. It also didn't help that they chose an inferior candidate that tens of millions of people deeply disliked. But all those are just excuses at this point.
  25. He is a very old 80 years of age, he has been in the state of cognitive decline for at least the last two or three years, his speech is extremely incoherent which leads us to wonder what the true state of his health is, and everybody knows how incredibly difficult and challenging the office of the presidency is. One can only hope that he does not decline any further in terms of his mental health.
