  1. Yes I would describe myself as a modernist vampire. I started sucking blood when I was four and I just haven't been able to stop. I know it's very typical of a Democrat, or as you like to say a leftist or a communist.
  2. I could cite an unlimited number of examples of how phony these numbers are, and how they do not reflect the cost of living for the majority of people in the US. To account for quality upgrades, CPI statisticians in the United States introduced an extremely obfuscated concept called “hedonic adjustment,” which lowers prices in the CPI calculations to offset the higher quality. Determining the monetary value of these improvements is arbitrary and introduces subjectivity into the process, potentially distorting the inflation rate. Another major blind spot of CPI calculations is that they exclude asset prices, completely neglecting the market value of financial and real assets such as stocks, bonds, real estate and other investments. This renders the metric highly problematic, as changes in asset prices disproportionately affect the wealth of individuals with higher incomes. A measure that fails to account for these variables is an unreliable policy tool. It also creates a distorted picture of reality, leading to stock market or real estate bubbles. However, the most widely criticized aspect of the CPI is that the goods and services that the fixed basket includes are assigned different weights by CPI statisticians, based on their relative importance to the average household. For instance, they might assume that rental costs account for 30 percent of total household expenditures, food and beverages for 20 percent, transportation for 10 percent, and so on. Obviously, the higher the relative importance or weight that a certain item is assigned, the more influential that item becomes in the total calculation. For example, if fuel prices suddenly explode, then those particular price increases are seen as “driving inflation,” as we saw two winters ago, especially in Europe. https://www.gisreportsonline.com/r/cpi-inflation/
  3. And do you know why? We are just simply having too much fun, this is more fun than than a blockbuster movie, this is more fun than the Eiffel Tower, this is more fun than popping a great bottle of wine. I'm beside myself with the amount of fun that I'm having.
  4. Those numbers are totally fake. I don't know what commodities they're are basing those fake numbers on, but please try to explain to me why it is that every 6 months when I go back for a visit everything is 10% higher. That feels like a whole lot more than 1.5% you are quoting to me. And everyone I know back there saying the same thing they cannot believe how much prices are skyrocketing and they've barely settled down.
  5. Well you keep on bringing up politics, but for me there's alot of quality of life issues, and though I do blame Newsom for a lot of problems California is facing, in general I don't blame the left, nor the right. Both are at fault. I really don't like either party. I spend a lot of time in California and though I do enjoy being there for a few weeks at a time it's certainly not any place I would want to live at this point, and after a few weeks I'm very ready to get out and come back here. I too am sad for the US. It faces two bad choices. But, Biden is no longer running and if Trump cannot figure out a way to re-calibrate his message and the campaign, he is gone, baby gone.
  6. Okay I get it, thank you for breaking down the difference. What the US is experiencing right now is not hyperinflation, it's just insane inflation. And it started with Trump. There is shared blame here.
  7. I understand how difficult this whole process must be for you, and for your fellow Trump supporters. Watching your candidate disintegrate before your eyes, watching him melt down, watching him dissolve into a state of semi-senility and incoherence has to be a difficult thing to deal with. I get the frustration.
  8. All 17 of the remaining supporters were celebrating.
  9. The article is written by Justin Haskins, the director of the Socialism Research Center at The Heartland Institute and the co-author, with Glenn Beck, of the forthcoming book “The Great Reset: Joe Biden and the Rise of 21st Century Fascism.” Is that what you consider to be a credible source of accurate info?
  10. Just agree to all of China's conditions. Have them build high speed rail all over the nation and have them do it quickly. Then, like most other nations on the Belt and Road initiative, just default. Free money. China is going to lose a trillion dollars, and who cares?
  11. I believe Trump started this hyper inflationary cycle when he declared an insane trade war on China and Huawei, with hardly anything to back him up, other than hollow threats, and sanctions, which only hurt the US economy, and US consumers and businesses. The Chinese sensed sanctions coming and went out and cornered the world market on rare earth, chips, motherboards, circuit boards, and other materials. Companies started ramping down production due to Covid. When they started to order these elements and parts, none were to be found or the price had skyrocketed. It started a massive supply chain issue with cell phone, computer and automotive components. Then the shipping issues came later. Few want to look back at where this started. At the time I said it was the single dumbest thing a politician had done since Chamberlain denied the bad intentions of the Nazis. Trump created hyper inflation, singlehandedly. Thanks, Don.
  12. Always a bad sign when you feel something moving in your mouth, while eating it.
  13. This was a done deal, agreed to before he returned from exile. He agreed to sell his party, his supporters, and his soul to the army, in exchange for no jail time. They likely also agreed to install his daughter, after a one year side show. It was all planned. This is all about moving Thailand backwards, and making sure no change, progress, or reform takes place, and thwarting the will of the good people of Thailand. Woe is Thailand. The Jurassic era continues.
  14. Here is what Trump has done for America!: Only 13 Presidents failed to get re-elected. Only 5 Presidents failed to win the popular vote. Only 4 Presidents have been impeached or resigned. Only 1 President has ever been criminally indicted. And only ONE President has done ALL FOUR. - DJT didn't lower taxes (He deferred them) - He didn't get Americans that healthcare coverage - He did not unite the USA, he divided it - He didn't lower prescription drug prices - He didn't get roads or bridges built He didn't decrease the deficit - He didn't end the opioid crisis - He made over 250 visits to his golf clubs costing us taxpayers $150 million - He didn't revive the coal industry - He didn't make covid-19 'disappear' He didn't make Mexico pay for the wall He is ranked the worst President in history He added $2 Billion a month in tariff costs to the American consumer He has a net-negative jobs creations for his administration He decreased corporate taxes, passing the tax burden to the workers He added $ 7.8 Trillion to the deficit - a full 25% of the total deficit He incited an insurrection against our government He is the only president to never achieve 50% approval. He didn't put "America first" and he sure didn't "Drain the Swamp... He left office with the worst job numbers of any President since the Great Depression with a net job loss over his term He is the first former president to be a CONVICTED FELON (34 times). These are all good reasons NOT to vote for Trump.

Not a good record. I will take someone with a DUI over a convicted felon.
  16. Yes. And they all drink the blood of babies in NYC pizza parlor basements. Very spooky. Watch your kids!
  17. I think the Republicans are simply floundering at this point, and Trump's entire campaign is lost. They're using the silliest little things to attempt to discredit Harris and Walz. Yes Walz did have a drunk driving incident, fortunately nobody was killed, he fessed up to it, he stopped drinking, which is a lot more than you can say for the vast majority of drunk drivers, and he's a really good man. He's such a good man the Republicans don't know what to do with him, they've completely lost any sense of messaging, the campaign is floundering like never before, they're heading toward a massive and humiliating defeat, they seem to know it, and desperation has set in.
  18. That is highly amusing, I always find it to be quite ironic when Trump supporters bring up a lie of Harris, Walz, or Biden, when Trump has been documented as telling thousands upon thousands of lies. It's his stock in trade for God's sake.
  19. Such silliness. There's nothing wrong with having hope but hope is nothing if it's not based upon a reality. Will she be able to engage in anything constructive? There are only two reasons why she was selected, number one is her father and number two is the fact that she's young and there's a false notion that she would somehow represent the aspirations of the youth. We all know that's not going to be the case, she listens to the dinosaur for advice, and she represents the elite, and the corrosive powers, and everything that's regressive and wrong with Thailand at this moment in time. I hate to sound hopeless, but they're going to need somebody like Thanathorn or Pita to lead the nation out of this moment of darkness. It will happen eventually, none of us really know how long it's going to take, it's up to the Thai people to decide.

  21. It's not just sliding poll numbers at this point, it's sliding Trump and Vance. Their campaign is completely out of control, they've lost all ability to control the narrative, Harris and Walz have taken all the wind out of their sails, people are finally enthusiastic, and those poor guys are flailing like very incompetent campaigners. On top of that I think people are just tired, they're tired of the lies, they're tired of the nonsense, they're tired of the juvenile name calling, they're tired of the bashing, they're tired of the hatred and lack of policy, they're just experiencing Trump fatigue, finally.
  22. Was that last line yours? I co-opted it from one of the most brilliant posts I've seen on this forum in a very long time. If that was yours I thank you from the bottom of my heart, genius and satire are always appreciated.
  23. It was satire. Many on the right take themselves so seriously they cannot even recognize political humor. Especially the Master.
  24. They're likely millions upon millions of people who would like nothing more than to see this absolute creep locked up for many many years, but the sad truth is that we all know that he's above the law. The top army officers answer to nobody here, and this goon is above any and all laws. However the one good thing that comes out of this is that this incident really illustrates exactly who this man is, and exactly what this man is. Which is a corrupt, heinous, toxic, useless and overly entitled general who has been bossing around kids his whole life, and is completely intolerant of questions, criticism or anything but absolute fealty and obedience.
  25. In my opinion he started to fade in the last year of his presidency. He may have had a minor stroke. Since then, it has been a steady downhill path. Far less coherent than in the past, very hard for him to continue a sentence for more than 15 seconds, alot of rambling, complaining, playing the victim card, and juvenile name calling as usual. Even most of the CEO's he met with a month ago were shocked at how lacking his message was. He is in the beginning stages of severe cognitive decline and it's a horrific thing to watch, he's an increasingly dangerous man and having him as the oldest elected president in history would not be a good thing. He rambles on and on, and it is easy to discern that he has a very hard time maintaining a thought for more than 15 seconds. He is, and has always been the master of slogans, and memes, but the public is just getting tired of the same game, day in and day out. He does not possess the creative juice to adapt, and that is absolutely killing his campaign, at this point. He is headed for the greatest humiliation of his lifetime. He's old, he's tired, he's now the oldest person to ever run for president, he's feels like he's 85 or 90 right now, he seems to be losing interest, he seems to be losing the plot, his message is getting tired, he has no ability to dance on his feet and be creative, and adapt, and he just seems to be disintegrating before our eyes, which is a beautiful thing to watch. And now, he seems to regret his choice of Vance, and seems very stressed out over Harris. Can't blame him for that. He and his campaign does seem to be imploding. The real issue now is that JNNP Trump (just nasty, no policy) has no message. He is a broken record, and people are getting tired of hearing the same juvenile no sense every time he speaks. He does not have a plan B. And he is incapable of adapting. This is just who he is. One game plan. Super nasty, all the time. The people want more. Alot more. Harris/Walz, no matter what you think of them, they're giving the people hope, they're giving the people something to believe in, they have a positive message. That's what people want right now and Trump and Vance are both incapable of that.
