Have you ever noticed that human kind has weaknesses? Anyone should be given credit for making an attempt to improve their life. No matter what form it takes. A little support goes a long way. Being critical of someone making an effort to change and improve is just cold. AA has helped millions of people. The fact that you don't understand it, means nothing. Having said that, friendship is a truly fascinating relationship. It is one of the only relationships we have, that is entirely voluntary. We engage, because we want to engage. Friendships tend to evolve and change over the years. Some get better, some get worse. Some people become better versions of themselves as they get older, most don't. And they evolve. If it gets to the point where it is not worth it, we move on.

For me, that amounts to next to zero, in terms of courage. Being outraged is simply participating in victim culture, and weak PC nonsense, which is degrading society and preformed mostly by weaklings. Everything sparks debate these days, everything seems to offend the snowflakes, everything seems to cause "netizen outrage". Who cares? It means nothing, it is less than zero. Outrage is simply a manifestation of weak victim culture.

PM Faces Uncertainty as Constitutional Court Decision Looms
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The CC is corrupt, bent, compromised and unethical. Nothing will change, as it has been made very clear that they do not represent the people. That seems to apply to the election and corruption commission and the entire judiciary, too. -
Thailand Has Global Ambition to Become Tech Talent Hub by 2030
spidermike007 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
The simple minded authorities need to wake up and make some sacrifices such as lowering luxury taxes, lowering wine taxes, cleaning up the air, making the highways safer, allowing more private air travel, helicopter travel, high-speed trains and alternatives to the totally choked and extremely hazardous highways. And now they have invited in the Bratva, by opening up the country to all Russians. Quantity over quality only works if you are selling $2 items at a swap meet. Dumb and dumber. They need to stop making predictions. They are always wrong. Too many variables. Of course there are other factors, the economy is slowing down worldwide, and we may yet see a rather significant recession or correction. But the army destruction and decimation did not help, and having a completely incompetent cabinet in place right now does not help either. Neither does their obsession with stealing elections. How on earth do they think a guy like Srettha could run the economy or the nation? He is an imposter and he is NOT popular, for many reasons.- 121 replies

Walz is superior to Vance on almost every metric. Plus, he is likable, and Vance is not. JD appears phony. And he lies, like Trump. In the recent interview with Nash for instance: Several vicious lies. Kamala Harris did not throw Joe Biden overboard. Harris has not been making the decisions in Biden's absence. Pure projection, Harris and Walz not comfortable in their own skin because Walz shook his wife's hand rather than hug and kiss her at the VP announcement. After how many years of Trump calling everybody a different nasty name, Vance is accusing Harris and Waltz of name-calling because he doesn't like weird? Walz lying about his military service is simply not something he is qualified to talk about, due to the fact that Trump lied 30 times during the debate, and lies every time he opens his mouth, so how is that one lie such a big deal? he's questioning Harris's character for picking a man who lied, yet he's running with the man who lies all the time. It is this level of disingenuousness that is such a turn off with this man. He focuses a lot on the aspect of truth in regard to Walz's military service, yet how does Trump's running mate even have the audacity to speak of truth? He lies about project 2025 not being affiliated with their campaign, and yet multiple sources have said that Trump staffers, up to 80 of them have participated in the drafting of project 2025. Another lie? He deliberately refers to Trump as president Trump instead of the former president, repeatedly. He is highly disingenuous by criticizing medical costs as if the Democrats are responsible for that. He criticized Harris for being anti-child and anti family, is there any truth in that criticism? He was criticizing masking in school when Trump was responsible for the initial spread of covid due to his inability to take responsibility for the disease, again very disingenuous. I do agree that he's infinitely more articulate and does not have any of the cognitive decline that Trump has, he can maintain a train of thought which is a good thing, but I'm not impressed with him.

Everything changes. Things evolve. She has become a far better candidate, Trump has declined cognitively, fatigue is setting in, as people are getting tired of his nonsense and lies, and he has shown he is incapable of adapting to change. And she has picked a VP candidate who people genuinely like. Of all four people on the ticket he is the only one I like. A very smart pick. And she is running thr campaign well. Alot can happen between now and then, but I see Trump melting down even more and the stress of all this will likely contribute to his further decline.

Your post is beyond silly, it's infantile, it's false, it's based on nothing but gorging on extremist podcasts, and your last statement was just beyond the pale. What you're saying is that 100 million Democrats hate America, that's some really brilliant stuff. A bit like saying we are all communists. Dumb and dumber.

People’s Party Surge: 84% Would Vote Today, Poll Reveals
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
While you are correct, if there's one absolute certainty, it is that things will change here, things will improve here, and things will progress here. I don't know how long it's going to take, and I don't know if it's going to happen an our lifetime, but it's going to happen. The dinosaurs are going to become extinct, and the super toxic powers that are holding the nation back are going to become irrelevant and will be dismissed. -
Russian Man Arrested in Thailand After 1,599 Days Overstay
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Koh Samui News
I would imagine he's definitely looking for ideas, as nothing that he's done to date has worked, and he's probably getting tired of being labeled a complete failure, and having pulled after poll after poll show him as being hugely unpopular. -
Student activists campaign against judges at Thai universities
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
An excellent start, the students are likely to be the ones who have the courage and moral conviction to begin pushing back against a spectacularly corrupt and morally bankrupt leadership. It has to start somewhere, and there's no doubt that judiciary here is either completely corrupt or highly compromised, and cannot be trusted, and should not be trusted. There are good reasons why this administration, the highly toxic army, and Srettha in particular are disliked to the extent that they are. They are doing nothing for the people, and all they are doing is enforcing the will of a few elites and some people who are morally bent, that are in positions of great power. -

Former School Director Sentenced to 250 Years for Corruption Scandal
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
Well this is a good start, though it seems like a bit of an overreach. Now, if only they would get on to investigating, arresting, and convicting top active (not former) officials in the army, the administration, the police, customs, and immigration we could then say that Thailand is moving forward, and that the nation resembles an open and progressive democracy. -
Ever Wondered about the Different Types of Thai Noodles ?
spidermike007 replied to CharlieH's topic in General Topics
For some of us noodles are one of the highlights of Thai food, and the various preparations that the Thais use to create these extraordinary noodle dishes make Thai food one of my favorites on the planet. -
1. The New York Post is about as far from anything that can be referred to as real media as is possible. 2. The conservatives are going to complain about any article that praises Harris, and criticizes Trump, what else is new? 3. Anytime Trump is not considered to be the greatest human on earth he gets offended his skin is thinner than tissue paper and that's very unbecoming for a man in his position. It says a lot about his extraordinary lack of self-esteem, masked by alot of bluster. Nobody who feels good about themselves, nobody who has any kind of self esteem, or self love, needs to constantly refer to themselves as being the best, the greatest, the brightest, and the hugest.

Trump is getting torched in the polls

I tend to agree, I think Harris and Trump are both bad choices, however I will say of the four people on the ticket the only one that I like is Walz, he seems like a decent human being. -
Trump is getting torched in the polls
spidermike007 replied to FriscoKid's topic in Political Soapbox
Everything about the con-man referred to as Trump is unlikeable. He's everything wrong with the human animal, all stuffed into one specimen. In my opinion he started to fade in the last year of his presidency. He may have had a minor stroke. Since then, it has been a steady downhill path. Far less coherent than in the past, very hard for him to continue a sentence for more than 15 seconds, alot of rambling, complaining, playing the victim card, and juvenile name calling as usual. Even most of the CEO's he met with a month ago were shocked at how lacking his message was. And now, he seems to regret his choice of Vance, and seems very stressed out over Harris. Can't blame him for that. He does seem to be imploding. And that is a wonderful thing not only for America, but for the entire planet.- 347 replies

Russian Man Arrested in Thailand After 1,599 Days Overstay
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Koh Samui News
A Russian who overstays his visa is the least of their problems. Now they have invited in the Bratva, by opening up the country to all Russians. Quantity over quality only works if you are selling $2 items at a swap meet. Dumb and dumber. Thailand is no longer attracting very many Western tourists for a dozen very good reasons. Right now it is predominantly Malaysian, Indian, Arab, Chinese, and Russian. One could argue that these are relatively low quality tourists, in terms of the amounts of money that they spend. Sure you have a few wealthy Russians and some wealthy Chinese, but most are lower to middle income and don't spend alot. Except the Chinese and Russian gangsters and crime families. This process will not be reversed until the authorities wake up and make some sacrifices such as lowering luxury taxes, lowering wine taxes, cleaning up the air, making the highways safer, allowing more private air travel, helicopter travel, high-speed trains and alternatives to the totally choked and extremely hazardous highways.- 109 replies

People’s Party Surge: 84% Would Vote Today, Poll Reveals
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The only way things will change here is if the Thai people show the army they are very serious, and will not tolerate being manipulated and shoved around. The people are going to have to make some major sacrifices. But, it will happen. It is just a matter of time. The Jurassic era is drawing to a close. There will never be another military coup here. Think about it. The moral authority that backed the coups in the past, is long gone. And the army does not have the guts to wage war against their people, Burmese style. It won't happen. The families of the soldiers would never tolerate their sons murdering innocent Thais. The moms would say "you murder one Thai, and you are never welcome back into our family home again. Listen to me. Do not do this". And you would have massive army defections. Who will fight at that point? Not the cowardly generals? They would flee into exile with their billions, and the army might collapse, or give up, at that point. -
I certainly agree with you with regard to this. The Chinese performances seemed nothing short of miraculous, and I guess miracle drugs help to create miracles, especially under the auspicises of a morally bankrupt regime. It would be nice to see the international regulatory agencies like WADA less partial, less corrupt, and less influenced by a generous and corrupt giant.
