  1. Only extreme insecurity, a total lack of vision, and zero confidence, drives small minded people to use cowardly defamation laws. Such pathetic behavior. Amazing that the courts allow this infantile law and behavior to be acknowledged. It says alot about the legal system and the judges.
  2. When Prayuth the numskull shut down the economy due to covid, and absolutely gutted tourism, and nearly killed the industry, I said it was going to take many years for the Thai economy to recover. My friends were laughing and saying no, no, no, it'll happen quickly. I said no I don't think so. I think we're still seeing the aftermath of the absolute slaughter of the Thai economy by Prayuth, the army, and his idiotic cronies and this could take some time. The tourism numbers are not quite as high as they say they are, and the quality of tourists has dropped dramatically. Of course there are other factors, the economy is slowing down worldwide, and we may yet see a rather significant recession or correction. But the army destruction and decimation did not help, and having a completely incompetent cabinet in place right now does not help either. Think about it Sretta is not only PM, but he's also been appointed finance minister. How on earth do they think a guy like him could run the economy? And isn't the economy important enough to warrant somebody who concentrates solely on running the economy? And why is the tourism minister also the sports minister? Does anybody have answers to any of these questions?
  3. Hun Sen definitely had Chea Vichea assassinated. Looks like he is still up to his killing ways. Once a serial killer, always a serial killer, goes the old adage. A supporter of Cambodia’s Candlelight Party was shot dead in Tbong Khmum province over the weekend, the latest in a series of attacks on the opposition in a year of local elections and campaigning for 2023 parliamentary voting, his wife and supporters said Monday. Candlelight Party’s vice-chairman Thach Setha told RFA that he could not yet conclude whether the killing Sunday of Po Hin Lean, a 49-year-old father of three, was a political assassination. He urged authorities in the province’s Ou Reang Ov district to conduct a prompt investigation. https://www.rfa.org/english/news/cambodia/opposition-death-10172022181913.html Speaking at a graduation ceremony for students at a university in Phnom Penh on October 17. Hun Sun said he would “eliminate the three generations of the ideology of the contemptible traitor [Sam Rainsy]...but I will not kill you." Hun Sen, who has ruled Cambodia since 1985, was responding to recent remarks by Sam Rainsy criticizing the strongman’s plans to appoint his son, Hun Manet, as his replacement. “I believe there will be strong opposition to Hun Sen's transfer of power to his dynasty. We want a succession of young Cambodians who are capable and accomplished, but we do not want a succession of clans in a family that is above everyone else and that has the right to rule Cambodia forever, ” Sam Rainsy said in a video
  4. Say it ain't so! They have multi billion dollar sewer and waste treatment facilities, built by the top engineers in the world. At least they should.
  5. Was that an attempt at satire? One cannot use the terms wholesome and RTP in the same sentence. That is just not right.
  6. I cannot help but think that most of these officers who are in heavy debt, are very uncreative franchisees. They have a license to mint money. What gives? Perhaps gambling debts?
  7. That is quite a horrific video, when you consider it represents two lives being snuffed out in an instant. Likely by a woman who was either drunk out of her mind, very messed up on some heavy drugs, or playing with her phone. She deserves a decade or longer in prison, but like you say, money speaks very loudly here, especially with the super corrupt RPT. Many years ago, my sister in law, was involved with a rather dodgy Brit, while living on Samui. When she finally ditched him, he was livid, and just could not handle it. He ended up coming one night, at 3:30am, and burned down her bungalow, which was made of wood and thatch. It went up like a bomb. Fortunately, neither she, nor her roommate were there at the time, or they would have either died, or ended up with major 3rd degree burns all over their bodies, which I believe was his intention. In most countries, this would be treated as attempted murder, correct? The police were able to find a video of him racing away from the scene, at around 3:35am, as there was a CCTV camera in front of the police station, only a few hundred meters away from her bungalow. They took him in, and told him he would have to leave Thailand, and could never return. Not sure what exchanged hands, for him to not have been arrested. He was also told he would have to pay my sister in law 120,000 baht for the destruction of her gold, cash, and possessions. Same for her friend. He did pay. We know that for a fact, as we were friendly with a couple of his friends. When she went to the police station to collect, she was told that he never paid, and he was already back in the UK. But, that they had advocated for her, and made sure he could never come back to Thailand! When she pushed, and told them that she knew for a fact that he had paid them, she was told that her life was now in danger, and that she needed to back down, and go away, or her safety could not be guaranteed. The real problem is, you cannot report these guys. Not to the higher ups, not to the provincial authorities, and certainly not to the army. They are all corrupt beyond imagination. And the level of corruption simply escalates, the further up the food chain you go. They are not expected to be honest, and they are not expected to engage in law enforcement, traffic or public safety, on any level. It is an irrevocably broken and dysfunctional system. Anything hyperbole to the contrary, is just a smoke screen, intended to deceive the naive amongst us. So, for any of you out there who still think the biggest joke was innocent, you are naive. And his PR obviously worked.
  8. I can see the basis for the friendship. Both are morally bankrupt. Both are money grubbers. Both would do anything to acquire more of a fortune. Both are highly compromised, and both are despised by many. And both are very bizarre looking men. Like something out of a comic book, but not the least but funny.
  9. Logic and Trump are like oil and water. He speaks from anger, disillusionment, bitterness, hatred, a pathological need for vengeance, jealousy and pettiness. Logic, reason and intelligence are not part of his game. He is a very dangerous man.
  10. In the US, many of the surgical nurses are from the PI. They earn $100,000 a year. Some are doctors from the PI. Some are surgeons. Very talented and extremely competent. Pay a fair wage, treat your workers well, don't ask them to work silly hours without overtime pay, and you don't end up with a shortage of talent. Thailand has not learned that lesson yet. Apparently neither has the PI.
  11. I got 3 shots, only because I needed it to travel. Now that they are not required anymore for travel, I will never get another one. I depend on my healthy immune system. And I am far more concerned about getting a flu, than a feeble version of covid.
  12. Many nations have incredible craft work, such as Mexico, Indonesia (especially Bali) and India. World class crafts. World famous crafts. Thailand has a very limited craft industry, and the quality is not high, nor are Thai crafts recognized around the world, with the exception of some of it's silk. More nonsense from one of the most silly men in the country, and one who has no business pretending to be a leader.
  13. It's a nice beach. One of the top beaches in the world? Try Tikehau Island, French Polynesia. Can't decide whether you want white- or pink-sand beaches? ... Dreamland Beach, Bali. ... Menjangan Island, Bali Gili Islands, Lombok Raja Ampat, West Papua Busuanga Island, Philippines Seagrass Bay, Laucala Island, Fiji Ypao Beach, Tumon Guam Honopu Beach, Kauai, Hawaii Maipio Valley Beach, Big Island, Hawaii Seven Mile Beach, Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands. ... Harbour Island, Bahamas. ... Blue Beach (La Chiva), Vieques, Puerto Rico. ... Trunk Bay, St. John, USVI. Devil’s Bay, Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands Parrot Cay, Turks and Caicos Lindquist Beach, St. Thomas Palm Beach, Aruba San Blas, Panama Oludeniz, Turkey Porto Katsiki, Lefkada, Greece And locally try Banana Beach, Koh Hey Island, Phuket.
  14. Kudos to them. The Burmese army is getting their butt's kicked by the rebels. Hopefully, they will give up soon. Meanwhile, the generals are raking in billions, in timber, mining, gemstones and drug running. The filth continues. Supported by the heinous CCP. If the Thais deport them, they are complicit and guilty of sentencing them to death.
  15. That is not a friendship to be proud of. Hun Sen is a money grubbing, power hungry, land grabbing multi billionaire, who stopped at nothing to maintain his power, and amass more fortune. In addition, his resume includes many years as a commander in the Kymer Rouge, where he engaged in serial killing. Quite a leader. He is getting old, and is paranoid. His personal security detail numbers over 5,000 men. There are countless people who want him dead. Of course he is tried to curb the media. Just like PT and the army here. He had his political opponents, such as Chea Vichea, and Sam Rainsy eliminated, or imprisoned, much like Putin. The real scandal, is why all the western power were complicit in this crimes. Where was all the condemnation?
  16. He spent alot of time and effort trying to convince the public he was clean, and a real crime buster. This is not a witch hunt, and there is nothing prestigious about his career. When he was chief of immigration, he made a constant fool of himself, by his ridiculous xenophobic rants. Recently, as deputy national police chief, he hogged the spotlight, with his fake crime buster image. I consider all the PR, all the grandstanding, all the hogging of the limelight, the nonstop press conferences, statements, declarations, and proclamations and crackdowns to be window dressing, meant to deceive the most naive among us. How many people that he pursued were actually imprisoned? Very few. Think about it. He was the chief of immigration. Then the deputy police chief. Both of those are pyramid schemes. Few immigration and police officers are clean. And the money gets funneled to the top. So, the money laundering was necessary to clean what was likely billions of baht, over the years. This joker likely has a $20 million lakefront château in Switzerland or a penthouse in NYC, and multiple overseas accounts, where he is stashing his ill gotten gains. The real mystery is why he was caught. The cops are above the law. He must have pissed someone off. Lock him up.
  17. Whatever you do, do not dare to defy the narrative. Big Pharma, the CDC, the FDA, and who knows how many other 3 letter agencies do not appreciate your lack of fealty, when denying their "truth".
  18. There is a solution to this, just avoid traveling to the southern provinces until airfares come down. I always tend to avoid going anywhere where the demand is too high and the prices are too high. To me it's just common sense. If less people traveled there airfares would drop.
  19. How did you die? OH, my dogs killed ME. I thought they were really nice dogs until they killed me. I don't think they're very nice anymore.
  20. I agree if there is a devil he certainly lives within Trump. I have asked Christians how they reconcile being able to support Trump and their beliefs. The answer is always the same. I'm not voting for the man, I'm voting for his policies, and democratic policies are very distant from my own personal beliefs. That's the best answer that I've been able to get. As a Democrat I don't hold the support of Trump personally, against anybody. I do believe that the alternative is marginally better. I do wish the Dems had better policy, more coherent policy, and I certainly wish they had a better and younger candidate, and a less toxic VP.
  21. Has Trump ever attended a church service? He is the polar opposite of a good Christian. Just more deception by the top huckster.
  22. Just more ridiculousness from a man who is becoming more silly by the day. For a moment it looked like the guy actually might get something done, but he's proving himself to be Do Nothing Sretta. If they wanted to get anything accomplished in the way of pollution mitigation they would start with the sugar refiners. They could create a process whereby the refiners would have to prove that the growers harvested the crop and there was no burning involved. Pollution would drop by 50% overnight. But they have no interest in going up against Big Agra because they're cowards, and the government must support the elite, so nothing changes. A puppet and his masters.
  23. I don't think it's a matter of being rude, I think it just a cultural thing. For the most part Thais don't acknowledge strangers unless there's some sort of interaction beyond someone saying hello to them in an elevator. They tend to be a little bit on the shy side, I wouldn't read any more into it than that. Often times I will make eye contact and nod to a Thai stranger, and they will usually nod back or smile. I find them to be fairly friendly people.
  24. Unless he has a truly serious disease like multiple myeloma, which is cancer of the bone marrow, degenerative bone disease is simply osteoarthritis, which most of us have. So this means absolutely nothing, it's a nothing burger, it means less than zero.
  25. One gangster organization does not cancel out another. Hun Sen was a true despot, he did steal massive amounts of land for personal enrichment and he jailed and killed opponents like Sam Rainsy, Chea Vichea, and countless others. He was a tyrant. “The authorities don’t have the will to do a real investigation, because the killer is somebody powerful in the government,” Chhun alleged. The investigation resumed following the men’s acquittal. Government spokesman Phay Siphan refused to discuss the case and hung up when asked about the government’s alleged connection to Vichea’s murder. https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2019/1/22/15-years-on-justice-elusive-in-cambodia-union-leaders-murder I not only weaken the opposition, I’m going to make them dead ... and if anyone is strong enough to try to hold a demonstration, I will beat all those dogs and put them in a cage. —Hun Sen, January 20, 2011, responding to the suggestion that he should be worried about the overthrow of a dictator in Tunisia at the time of the “Arab Spring.” https://www.hrw.org/report/2015/01/12/30-years-hun-sen/violence-repression-and-corruption-cambodia
