  1. Kudos to them. The Burmese army is getting their butt's kicked by the rebels. Hopefully, they will give up soon. Meanwhile, the generals are raking in billions, in timber, mining, gemstones and drug running. The filth continues. Supported by the heinous CCP. If the Thais deport them, they are complicit and guilty of sentencing them to death.
  2. That is not a friendship to be proud of. Hun Sen is a money grubbing, power hungry, land grabbing multi billionaire, who stopped at nothing to maintain his power, and amass more fortune. In addition, his resume includes many years as a commander in the Kymer Rouge, where he engaged in serial killing. Quite a leader. He is getting old, and is paranoid. His personal security detail numbers over 5,000 men. There are countless people who want him dead. Of course he is tried to curb the media. Just like PT and the army here. He had his political opponents, such as Chea Vichea, and Sam Rainsy eliminated, or imprisoned, much like Putin. The real scandal, is why all the western power were complicit in this crimes. Where was all the condemnation?
  3. He spent alot of time and effort trying to convince the public he was clean, and a real crime buster. This is not a witch hunt, and there is nothing prestigious about his career. When he was chief of immigration, he made a constant fool of himself, by his ridiculous xenophobic rants. Recently, as deputy national police chief, he hogged the spotlight, with his fake crime buster image. I consider all the PR, all the grandstanding, all the hogging of the limelight, the nonstop press conferences, statements, declarations, and proclamations and crackdowns to be window dressing, meant to deceive the most naive among us. How many people that he pursued were actually imprisoned? Very few. Think about it. He was the chief of immigration. Then the deputy police chief. Both of those are pyramid schemes. Few immigration and police officers are clean. And the money gets funneled to the top. So, the money laundering was necessary to clean what was likely billions of baht, over the years. This joker likely has a $20 million lakefront château in Switzerland or a penthouse in NYC, and multiple overseas accounts, where he is stashing his ill gotten gains. The real mystery is why he was caught. The cops are above the law. He must have pissed someone off. Lock him up.
  4. Whatever you do, do not dare to defy the narrative. Big Pharma, the CDC, the FDA, and who knows how many other 3 letter agencies do not appreciate your lack of fealty, when denying their "truth".
  5. There is a solution to this, just avoid traveling to the southern provinces until airfares come down. I always tend to avoid going anywhere where the demand is too high and the prices are too high. To me it's just common sense. If less people traveled there airfares would drop.
  6. How did you die? OH, my dogs killed ME. I thought they were really nice dogs until they killed me. I don't think they're very nice anymore.
  7. I agree if there is a devil he certainly lives within Trump. I have asked Christians how they reconcile being able to support Trump and their beliefs. The answer is always the same. I'm not voting for the man, I'm voting for his policies, and democratic policies are very distant from my own personal beliefs. That's the best answer that I've been able to get. As a Democrat I don't hold the support of Trump personally, against anybody. I do believe that the alternative is marginally better. I do wish the Dems had better policy, more coherent policy, and I certainly wish they had a better and younger candidate, and a less toxic VP.
  8. Has Trump ever attended a church service? He is the polar opposite of a good Christian. Just more deception by the top huckster.
  9. Just more ridiculousness from a man who is becoming more silly by the day. For a moment it looked like the guy actually might get something done, but he's proving himself to be Do Nothing Sretta. If they wanted to get anything accomplished in the way of pollution mitigation they would start with the sugar refiners. They could create a process whereby the refiners would have to prove that the growers harvested the crop and there was no burning involved. Pollution would drop by 50% overnight. But they have no interest in going up against Big Agra because they're cowards, and the government must support the elite, so nothing changes. A puppet and his masters.
  10. I don't think it's a matter of being rude, I think it just a cultural thing. For the most part Thais don't acknowledge strangers unless there's some sort of interaction beyond someone saying hello to them in an elevator. They tend to be a little bit on the shy side, I wouldn't read any more into it than that. Often times I will make eye contact and nod to a Thai stranger, and they will usually nod back or smile. I find them to be fairly friendly people.
  11. Unless he has a truly serious disease like multiple myeloma, which is cancer of the bone marrow, degenerative bone disease is simply osteoarthritis, which most of us have. So this means absolutely nothing, it's a nothing burger, it means less than zero.
  12. One gangster organization does not cancel out another. Hun Sen was a true despot, he did steal massive amounts of land for personal enrichment and he jailed and killed opponents like Sam Rainsy, Chea Vichea, and countless others. He was a tyrant. “The authorities don’t have the will to do a real investigation, because the killer is somebody powerful in the government,” Chhun alleged. The investigation resumed following the men’s acquittal. Government spokesman Phay Siphan refused to discuss the case and hung up when asked about the government’s alleged connection to Vichea’s murder. https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2019/1/22/15-years-on-justice-elusive-in-cambodia-union-leaders-murder I not only weaken the opposition, I’m going to make them dead ... and if anyone is strong enough to try to hold a demonstration, I will beat all those dogs and put them in a cage. —Hun Sen, January 20, 2011, responding to the suggestion that he should be worried about the overthrow of a dictator in Tunisia at the time of the “Arab Spring.” https://www.hrw.org/report/2015/01/12/30-years-hun-sen/violence-repression-and-corruption-cambodia
  13. Great post. A fun read. I agree that Trump only brings sadness and a lack of hope to the world. A reflection of his own misery and miserly self.
  14. To say the man is deluded would be an understatement. His basic lack of understanding of world geopolitics is scary. And he adores despots and dictators. He is a very dangerous man.
  15. Not buying anything this administration is telling us, at this point. They are illigitimate, and have zero credibility. No way to know if any Thaksin news is real. So, it has to be immediately dismissed as fake news.
  16. No, no, please don't. I have friends who know younger Russians. And they say they are kind, friendly and progressive. I have no idea what percentage of the population these younger people represent, nor how representative they are of the Russian population. Personally, I have met very few friendly Russians. Anywhere in the world. The vast majority of Russians I have met, seem to have very, very few redeeming qualities. It is no wonder. I can only speak from my experience. Have run into alot of Russians both in the US, and on Phuket and Samui, 98% of them seem to be grumpy, unfriendly and gruff. Some of them are downright hostile. Likely a reflection of a very, very rough culture and environment. Now, with the genocide against Ukraine, perhaps it is not a coincidence that the world is not standing up to support them and show them kindness? Just an observation. Some appear entitled, but I do not think it is a sense of entitlement. I think it is a reflection of the current culture. It was destroyed over a century of callous and murderous leadership. Stalin, Lenin, Khruschev, now Putin. They have become somewhat savage and crude. No grace, no finesse, no courtesy. Rather uncivilized. My family was from Russia a few generations back. I used to ask my great-grandmother when she was still around, why they didn't teach us anything about the old country. She would give me this look, and tell me "the reason we never teach you about the place we came from, is because the place we came from was the most horrific country on earth, it was the most destitute, horrible, oppressive place and we were thrilled to finally get out of there and leave it behind. That's why we don't teach you about the old country, the old country doesn't exist for us".
  17. As very good fit for the oppressive and a sadistic army here. Hun Sen himself was the mafia in Cambodia. He was a money grubbing, power hungry, land grabbing multi billionaire, who stopped at nothing to maintain his power, and amass more fortune. In addition, his resume includes many years as a commander in the Kymer Rouge, where he engaged in serial killing. Quite a leader. He is getting old, and is paranoid. His personal security detail numbered over 5,000 men. There are countless people who want him dead. He corned the media and silenced his critics just like the Thai army does. The real scandal, is why all the western power are complicit in his crimes, and have always supported his brand of fake democracy? Where is the condemnation? Where are the sanctions? Where is the UN in all of this? Now, he has passed the baton to his son with a fake election. Another despot ruler. What can one say?
  18. It appears you are correct. I researched it some more. Biden is no hero of mine. Neither are the dems. I just prefer them over Trump, who I consider a human catastrophe. The US faces two terrible choices. The Taliban are a nightmarish group of serial killers, rapists and thieves, who pretend to believe in something. In reality, their brand of fake Islam gives them a license to steal, rape and kill. They are total thugs. Those clowns would not know a Koran, if it hit them up the side of the head. All the religion part is, is simply a cover for their gangs. They deal in heroin and meth, they kidnap and rape young girls at will, they steal, maim and engage in serial killing as a hobby. There is no religion or spirituality in their game. All of that is simply a cover for their gang banging activities. The withdrawal was a long time coming, and it appears they had plenty of time to deal with it in a manageable manner. I have relatives in the military. They all say the same thing. If Bagram Air base was left fully functional, while a coordinated effort was made to withdraw all Americans, Allies and Afghans who helped with the war effort, it likely could have been accomplished successfully. In addition, there was no reason to leave 20,000 plus Humvees, 2,000 plus pickup truck, billions in weapons and equipment behind, or to not have destroyed all that stuff. Why just hand it over to the Taliban? The Afghanistan of November 14, 2023, is far worse than the Afghanistan of September 10, 2001, the day before al-Qaeda launched its deadly attack on America, which was plotted from Afghan soil. On September 10, 2001, the Taliban did not fully control the country, was mired in a fight for territory with the Northern Alliance, and was isolated internationally. Today, the Taliban is in full control of Afghanistan, has the resources of a state and a military armed with billions of dollars in U.S. weapons that were left behind, and is sending envoys to countries such as China, Russia, and Iran. https://www.fdd.org/analysis/2023/11/14/go-to-zero-joe-bidens-withdrawal-order-and-the-taliban-takeover-of-afghanistan/
  19. Yikes. Actually, I just recently returned from yet another trip to the US. I was in Los Angeles, and left before the great floods. But, it did rain a few times, and it was fairly cold, this time of year. Not pleasant. After a month there, I have stopped complaining about the heat. Would rather have the AC cranked up, and sleep comfortably at night, than have the heat cranked up trying to stay warm. Also, the place I was staying was always cold. No thanks. I will take the heat. Bring it on.
  20. Read this recently. Does anyone with knowledge of this know if this is true, or accurate? If so, surely electric cars must be made a thing of the past. Hybrids would seem to make alot more sense, or future versions, such as hydrogen, as is suggested here. Here comes the Tesla battery. To produce it you need to excavate: 12 tons. of rock for Lithium 5 tons. of cobalt minerals 3 t. of mineral for nickel 12 tons. the mineral for the copper Need to move 250 tons. of land to obtain: 12 kg of Lithium 13.6 pounds of nickels 22 kg of manganese 6.8 kg of Cobalt 100 Kg of Rams 200 kg of aluminum, steel and plastic. The Caterpillar 994A used to move this earth consumes 1000 litres of diesel in 12 hours. Here is the “zero emissions” car. The biggest scam in history. " Your thoughts? Do you agree, or is this nonsense?
  21. Very rich stuff, indeed. Perhaps this takes the wind out of the sails of many who claim they are just fine, gentle when properly trained, and all the additional dribble we hear from pitbull owners? They are atrocious dogs, and have no place in civilized society. They should be limited to Russia, North Korea, and Yemen!
  22. I think this is unfair. He is closer to #44, after Buchanan. He was a terrible president on a dozen different levels. And let us hope he does not get another chance to destroy the future of the US. Lock him up!
  23. No. He is railing against the deep state, domestic surveillance, and over reach. Not the president. With Putin things are very different. You have a serial killing dictator, who has blackmailed and connived with all of the oligarchs, to become one of the world's richest men. He is likely even more corrupt than most of the Czars of yesteryear. He is a foul despot, desperately clinging to power. Putin killed Navalny, who was a true hero. You could describe Snowden as a hero, but I think that may be a stretch. He did expose countless undercover operatives overseas. I do not have an issue with alot of the filthy US government stuff he exposed, otherwise.
  24. No doubt upgrading the land is smart policy. It is beneficial for the land owners, and also gives the government more of a tax base. Sretta, as usual is grandstanding. By participating in a ceremony like this, it may appear he is doing some actual work, and taking action that is benefiting the masses. He does not appear to be a dummy. Not particularly effective thus far, but when you consider the fact that he is a corporate, big agra, and army puppet, in his defense he is a bit hamstrung.
  25. My understanding from everything I've read about it is that his hands were tied, everything had already been said in motion by the ignoramus, and there wasn't much he could have done. I wonder. The level alof abandonment of those translators was pathetic and shameful.
