  1. When they are locking up courageous young folks for decades, for speaking out about important reform, stealing elections from highly popular figures like Pita, and installing highly toxic and corrupt army appointed proxy senators, they cannot even pretend this is a democracy. It is a "soft power" army autocracy. With no moral authority, whatsoever.
  2. Thailand is going go have to figure out a way to get beyond this purile and ridiculous practice of "face", if it wants to progress as a nation and move forward. It holds them back on countless levels.
  3. I didn't say anything about doing that. Again, you are making stuff up. Following your dreams of adventure is the right thing to do.
  4. If it got any worse, it would be like New Delhi. The authorities should be ashamed and embarrassed. But, since they don't have any competence or pride, they are not.
  5. Adding more staff to prevent breakdowns in the system is just basic common sense. Last time I arrived the que was enormous. Who wants to get off a long flight, walk 20 minutes to immigration, and then wait on a 45 minute line? People remember stuff like that. What is needed at immigration is more intelligence.
  6. Many of the tactics employed by Trump and his cronies are based on lies and fabrications. But, since they are not guided by any sort of morality or regard for truth, it does not matter to them. Nor, to many of his devotees. They throw junk against the wall, and hope it will stick. Hopefully we will be done with the numskull in November. Another loss and he will be toast. See ya Don Don.
  7. I've been there a couple of times over the years and it's quite nice, it's good food, it's a lot of food and it's worth it. Nice ambiance, nice view, definitely worth the money. Bear in mind they attack on an extra 17% more than likely.
  8. You always have the option of getting on your bike and going without the Mrs. After all, who makes the decisions in your family? You want some adventure take some adventure. Maybe just maybe, you're the one who's lost the spirit.
  9. Such unbelievable nonsense, this man would say anything to avoid taking responsibility and putting pressure on his Masters, who own many of the Big Agra companies. They are doing absolutely nothing, there will be no follow-up, there will be very few fines, and there will be no pressure put on the refiners. Expect a continued backwards movement as long as these clowns are in charge. Sretta, Anutin, PT and the army are the do nothing men.
  10. Well certainly China exerts some control here, but I think to say that Thailand is under Beijing's and the heinous CCP's control is quite an exaggeration. If we were life would be very different here, it would be a pale shadow of what it is now. Yes the army here is horrible, and yes they are oppressive when it comes to criticism, but that is about the extent of the oppression that we feel on a daily basis. This is NOT China, thankfully. I would not live there for any less than 10 million dollars a year. So yes, I am for sale. LOL.
  11. The last time I was in Los Angeles with my Thai woman we went to the highest rated Thai restaurant in Thai Town in LA, and though we spent $100 for lunch we were both quite disappointed. I think it's fairly difficult to find good Thai food in the US, it's easy to find mediocre Thai food or edible Thai food but very difficult to find good Thai food. We only eat Thai food in the US when she is cooking otherwise we take advantage of the huge variety of other types of ethnic foods that are available. In Thailand great Thai food is virtually everywhere. Fortunately we live here in Thailand, and I'm thankful for that fact on a daily basis.
  12. I tend to agree Biden is not capable, but I earnestly think Trump is not capable either. I believe that he's semi senile, incoherent most of the time, and he's lost a lot of his faculties, in addition to being completely insane. Not to mention in legal peril and possibly broke.
  13. Execution would be ideal and it would be great if they could make it happen quickly, 30 days or so, perhaps even without a trial. In leiu of that a 20 or 30 year sentence where he will be treated very kindly by his fellow inmates, due to the nature of his crime. And forfeiture of all of his assets to the families of the victims.
  14. Oh yes. TDS. Goes both ways. Trump deceives his supporters.
  15. There is no question that he is a wannabe mafioso, the issue for him is that he doesn't have the cajones for it, and he is a major coward, so the best he can do is steal money from unsuspecting souls and defraud banks and the IRS. However he the one thing he does possess is the requisite pathology for being a gangster thug.
  16. Regardless that is still a very, very high price per rai. Is it close to a big city, is it a very special area?
  17. At over 300,000 baht per rai, let us hope it's not only Chanote, but it's in a great location, very close to a big city. That is big money for farm land.
  18. When a guy at the top of one of the great pyramid schemes of the nation is clean, that would prevent the system from functioning. So the bullet hole story was likely quite an effective bit of PR that some naive people bought into. Did you actually see the bullet holes, do you know any people that saw them? I didn't think so, none of us saw it. Do you think I would take the biggest joke's word for anything? Just say NO to nonsense and BS.
  19. Guilty as charged! The RTP at it's inception seems to have been created with a status quo from the government. We will NOT pay you a living wage, but you have a franchise, and the limit of your income is based solely on your own creativity and initiative, and you will always be protected. Is that not the case? So, where does that leave the #2 man? Guilty. Less than a 1% chance he is innocent. And the degree of his ill gotten gains would likely astonish most, especially those who buy into his "crime fighting, clean cop" facade.
  20. What was the cause of death? Putin finally had his critic assassinated. I guess we knew it was a matter of time. This heroic man was eliminated by a pathetic, thin skinned, toxic, heinous, serial killing, coward dictator. Navalny was a great man. A true man of courage, who spoke out against corruption and moral decay. Navalny was serving a 19-year sentence on extremism charges after he was convicted for the fifth time in August over his foundation’s activities and statements by his associates. He decried the charges as politically motivated. In December, he was transferred to a penal colony in the Yamalo-Nenets region near the Arctic Circle in December after his allies had 0previously reported losing contact with him for three weeks. Navalny’s supporters said his transfer there was yet another effort by Putin to suppress him.
  21. This man is as corrupt, thieving, and foul as the day is long, and it's about time that he starts being held accountable for a lifetime of crime. The amount of bank and tax fraud he has likely committed, the amount of thievery, stealing, lying, cheating and foul play is likely to set all-time records. Beyond the robber barons. This is a thrilling result and it is likely despite his claims of the contrary, that he does not have access to this this much money. There's no doubt he's living way beyond his means. Lock him up!
  22. At least once a day, sometimes twice. We eat out frequently, we order from Food Panda frequently and my woman is a great cook. Thai food is likely the only food in the world that I can eat daily without getting sick of. Great Thai food is astonishing. But only here, overseas I rarely get great Thai food.
  23. As Deputy police chief he could not possibly be more guilty, he is likely involved in multiple scams. Always remember the RTP is a pyramid scheme, and he is near the top of that scheme, so it is likely he is earning hundreds upon hundreds of millions of baht annually. That money likely needs to be laundered. Lock him up!
  24. Very true. Yet, the authorities are being obedient, cowardly little punks. Pay your fealty to the richest and the most foul, Sretta and Anutin. They own you. You are not in control. You are the puppets and they are the masters of this game.
  25. There is a great misconception that the army here is actually a productive force. Right after the coup 10 years ago the army used to go into Samui regularly and engage in enforcement of policy that the local refused to handle. Such as the taxi mafia crackdowns. Two weeks later everything was forgotten. The army may put on a big show but they are do nothing organization just like the police. Nobody cares and nobody wants to stand up to Big Agra. They are the pathological killers in this scenario.
