Yes, my advice would be to take your time, okay you've already invested an extraordinary amount of time into chatting with somebody online, which is something I would never do, but all that is said and done. So once you get here take your time. Don't move fast, don't move in with her, don't live with her, date her for 6 months to a year and see how you like her. When you meet a girl in person that you have met online, there is a possibility that you won't even like what you see, and that there will be zero chemistry. So, keep your expectations low, and come here and really really take your time getting to know her. What this means is consistent pushback from you, because she's going to want to step up the timetable, she's going to want it to move fast, she's going to want everything to happen right away, and you're going to have to be man enough to say sorry but I need a lot of time to determine whether or not you're the right woman for me, and I need a lot of time to get to know you. Something might develop, but if you are in a hurry, I am NOT YOUR GUY. An environment like this allows us to set boundaries, and take our time. Take advantage of that. She starts saying I love you, and you respond by saying that's nice. I like you too. What, you do not love me? Of course not. I have only known you a few months. I have barely gotten to know you yet. Always remember if it's good it's only going to get better, and if there are problems they're going to manifest themselves over time. So the worst thing you can do is rush headlong into this thing. Man up and do your gender justice. Make us proud.

So far Sretta continues to showing himself as a very incapable leader with very modest intelligence. This policy is absolutely dumb, tourists have a very minor amount of interest in drinking crappy Thai beer, and they have zero interest in drinking Thai liquor, which is horrendous. What they might have an interest in is drinking fine imported wine and good spirits from overseas, so let's just admit that local production is junk and lower taxes on the alcoholic beverages that mean something.

When a nation has a highway patrol that adamantly refuses to patrol the highways, and instead hangs out in air conditioned booths playing cards and playing with their phones, this is what happens. There is no such thing as a deterrent in Thailand, everybody knows they can drive however they want to drive without any risk of getting pulled over or losing their license or suffering any consequences. Unless and until this nation gets the highway patrol to actually perform their task at hand, this will continue. The highway patrol here are the deplorables.

Thailand Targets Massive Tourism Revenue in 2024

A lot of people see the seas as an unlimited resource and a lot of people do not consider overpopulation to be an issue. What's happening is that the quality of life continues to decline, the oceans are getting polluted and depleted, and what is our future going to look like, with that declining quality of life?

Yingluck Patiently Awaits Homecoming In Thaksin’s Style

I truly believe PT has lost all their appeal and nearly all of their luster for the people upcountry. Everybody that I know in Issan has completely bought out of their model and has become completely discouraged by their total sellout that they exhibited, by joining ranks with the extremely toxic army. I think PT is almost finished as a viable party. At least as a party that could be elected. I'm not sure who you are talking about as a character that can help the elites image. It certainly is not Pita. He doesn't want to have anything to do with these sold out fools. -
They likely have monster warehouses that contain pallets and pallets full of papers that are years old and are never looked at. The fortunate thing is that this is all recycled paper and it's all very easy to recycle, so the destruction of the environment is not what one would think it is. Having said all that it would sure be nice to see them automate at some point in the near future.

The Investing Year Ahead
spidermike007 replied to Mike Lister's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Prices are already dropping in many markets, and houses are going unsold for 6 months to a year. I expect the real estate market in the US to drop very significantly over the next three years, it's over inflated to a ridiculous degree. How will that affect the rest of the economy, what are the chances of a recession, will they be able to tame inflation? That and the ongoing wars around the world are huge variables. -

It would be a big struggle, and of course they would be fighting against the entrenched elite, the army and other various powers who resist change and reform with every nanogram of their being. Keep things the same, it's working for us, we're making a fortune, why would we want reform? -

Road safety appeal amid surge of New Year holidaymakers in Thailand
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
True. Nowhere else in the world have I seen people consistency take the kinds of chances and risks on the road, that they take here, with their families in the car. Nowhere. When they could have waited four seconds to make the uturn or turn onto the highway, and have a completely clear path, they instead choose to take a tremendous risk. It is beyond comprehension. I see it all the time. My eyes do not lie to me. This rarely ever happens to me in the US. If I decide to cut you off on a highway, when you are going 120kph, and I am making a u-turn, and there was plenty of room behind for me to make a safe turn, is that an error, or pure stupidity, if it results in a horrific, fatal accident, and I take the lives of you and your family? Sometimes an error is wearing white after Labor day in New York City. And sometimes an error is invading Russia before the oncoming winter. I don't make the kind of errors that result in bad accidents, much less fatalities. Why? Because I am very, very careful on the road, and very, very respectful of other drivers, their lives, and those of their families. That is a conscious choice that results in NOT making terrible mistakes, that devastate others, and my family. -

I will make a most optimistic prediction. There will never be another military coup here. Think about it. The moral authority that backed the coups in the past, is long gone. And the army does not have the guts to wage war against their people, Burmese style. It won't happen. The Thai army does not have the guts for it, and the Thai soldiers, and the families of the soldiers would never tolerate their sons murdering innocent Thais. The moms would say "you murder one Thai, and you are never welcome in our family home again. Listen to me. Do not do this". And you would have massive army defections. Who will fight at that point? Not the cowardly generals? They would flee into exile with their billions, and the army might collapse, or give up, at that point. One of the fundamental differences, is the Thai soldiers are not facing the level of desperation the young Burmese are. The poverty here is not as grinding as it is in Burma. I do not think it could be sustained, if the fools started it. Even in Burma, the army is facing huge resistance now. Thailand is a very different culture than Burma, on a dozen significant levels. And the youth now, are very different people than they were during past coups, which were violent, and were supported with a sort of moral authority, which is completely gone now. -
Do you believe in insurance?
spidermike007 replied to georgegeorgia's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
As minimally as possible. I consider nearly all insurance companies to be gangland mafia sorts who will do absolutely anything they can to weasel out of payment. I do have good car insurance, I do have accident insurance. Both make sense, and that's about it. I gave up my health insurance over a decade ago, as the premiums got stupid. I've been saving that money which is now a considerable sum. I figure if something happens to me I can take care of it out of pocket, and if it's very serious I'll just shed the mortar coil, see you, bye bye. -
Nearly every product made in China is substandard and unless it is made by a foreign company that has foreign managers on the manufacturing floor such as Apple, Fitbit, Dell, and other companies that have to make a product to a certain standard. Fortunately manufacturing is moving away from China, the Chinese economy is imploding and millions of Chinese are moving from the big cities back out to the country. Just give it 10 years, China's GDP might drop by 30% or more, and that is a good thing. CCP are not responsible global citizens, and they deserve whatever comes to them.

Same here. My last trip there was a few months ago. Don't need to return in this lifetime. I think it is a greatly diminished version of its former self. The nightlife absolutely sucked. Though the Andaman is great. Always the highlight for me.

Road safety appeal amid surge of New Year holidaymakers in Thailand
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I suppose it is a cultural distinction. I don't consider an idea or a proclamation to be an action. Real men make sure the ideas are followed up. Sloths forget about it and move on, pretending it was not really that important, after all. -
Thai woman arrested for selling her masturbation videos online
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
Totally agree about the sex. Making arrangements for a long term partner online has to be the height of desperation. Is chemistry even an issue? Do you have anything in common? Do you enjoy her company? Utter and extreme desperados, or super lazy guys, employ those methods. Bizarre at best. More than likely NOT a good idea. For so many reasons, they would take awhile to list. First is all, the biggest variable when you meet someone online, is whether or not you will like them once you see them. Do you find them attractive? Do they find you appealing? Is there any chemistry? Is she emotionally developed, or a stunted, emotional retard? There is no shortage of women that fit that category here. Would you want to be with her any longer than an hour, once you meet her? If not, what do you do once you have made this rather grand and rather silly commitment of your time? I guess it comes down to self esteem. When I was doing online dating, I always limited the first encounter to 15-30 minutes, over a cup of coffee. And 90% of the time I was very glad I had followed that protocol. I also limited the number of contacts prior to that cup of coffee to three. I do not have any interest in having pen pals. And Thai women love to chat, and text, and you end up wasting alot of hours on someone you have never met, and more than likely are not going to get with once you do meet her, for a couple of dozen reasons. The numbers are not on your side, so why invest the time, once you have made the contact? I have a close friend who met a woman online and they started conversing with online chats and then they escalated it to telephone chats and then they were talking an hour a day for 6 months. He just met her last week after traveling quite a distance and they had almost nothing in common, he said they had a nice chat but it didn't look like it was going to go anywhere. I think they were both very lonely, so why not chat on the phone? Why on Earth would a guy who was self-esteem invest that many hours of his life into someone he's never met before? I just don't get it. It is so 2023. So I ask, what would Bond do? He would chat once or twice and set up a date. Period. Otherwise, see ya! -
A change in consciousness must start at the most basic level. Most Thais think plastic is the best thing ever invented, and the percentage of Thais that even consider the negative ramifications of plastic is incredibly small. This requires some education. I always do two things to avoid the consumption of plastic. 1. I bring re-usable bags with me every time I go shopping. I use the larger shopping bags I buy in the US, which are made of recycled materials. Most of the clerks have to be dealt with. Even when they see my bag, they still start putting the stuff in plastic. I always mai sai toom. No plastic! Then they start loading up my bag. Most look at me like I am from Mars. Do I care? Not one iota. About 1% thank me, and get it. Not many do. My Thai wife does not like bringing the bags to the store. I force her to. By now, she expects it, and sometimes even asks if I have any bags in the car, or on the motorbike. Same with the water bottles. It used to embarrass her. Now, it is second nature, as I have been doing this for so long, she expects it. So, if a Thai can be conditioned to follow these simple principals, then anyone can. 2. I bring a bottle of water with me, every time I go to a restaurant. I refill my plastic bottles from the 20 liter bottles at home. It is easy. I never buy bottled water at a restaurant. This saves 300-600 bottles a year. I use a plastic bottle dozens of times. I never get any flack from the restaurants. Only once did someone say something to me. She said you cannot bring you own water. My response was if you serve the water in a glass bottle, and I do not have to consume a plastic bottle, I am happy to pay for that. She was lost. I told her to leave and get me my food. She went away. We simply cannot say we are concerned about the environment, and then do nothing about it. Action demonstrates commitment. Lack of action demonstrates nothing. Lastly, restaurants can demonstrate their commitment, by serving drinking water from the 20 liter bottles. It saves alot of plastic. They lose a small amount of revenue, by not selling thousands of bottles of water. But, their operation is still profitable, and they are making a real difference. There really is not need to be consuming water in plastic bottles. At least not often. There are alternatives. Those damn bottles are a real culprit, when it comes to fouling the environment. What can we do, if we say we care?

In this day and age, we have to become experts at avoiding stupidity. That includes paying fees that are excessive. Negotiate a reasonable deal, or cut the fools loose.

It is not slavery, and it is not anything like slavery. The primary difference being that the slaves never had a choice, they never asked to be taken away from their families, shipped across the high seas in cages, and sold at auction to slave owning farmers, ranchers, plantation owners and who knows what other kind of people, who engaged in slave ownership. Taking a loan is voluntary, yes your financial situation might be dire, and yes you might be facing great hardship, but one does make a decision to sign off on a loan, and one should inquire about the terms before making such a decision, and after making that decision one has to be held accountable no matter how heinous the terms are. I do feel for these people. But, they were not forced at gunpoint to take these loans. And it is likely they knew who they were dealing with. The real question is why the govt. or the cops does not go after them? The real story begins and ends there.

Yingluck Patiently Awaits Homecoming In Thaksin’s Style
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Those ridiculously toxic and corrupt senators would need to steal the election, to get back in. I doubt the people would tolerate that, though I have been surprised before. These senators need to be declared enemies of the state. They have essentially committed treason, at this point. A list of their names and photos needs to be circulated. The people need to call them and their children, siblings, and parents out at work, at school, at restaurants, and in public. Shame them into submission. Embarrass them to no end. Make their lives so uncomfortable that the army cannot find any replacements! It just might work. Make them conscious of the incredible amount of damage and erosion to democracy they have caused. They deserve more scorn and humiliation, not less. Bring it on. Kudos to the Thais who stand up to these people of dishonor. They are weak, pathetic, cowardly, self entitled hooligans, who are accustomed to a perch atop the ivory tower, scared to death of being taken down a notch, and being asked to be accountable for their heinous and unforgivable actions. Of course they will resort to whatever dirty tactics they can. That is who and what they are. Filth. They are the deplorables. These lowlifes have been bullying the Thai people for many years now. Guess they never expected the favor to be returned. They all assume they are "above it all". Mightier than the masses. Too rich to touch. Well, perhaps things are about to change. Perhaps your lives are about to take a turn for the worse, and you and your families are going to be subject to intense harassment for the cowardly and highly dishonorable positions you accepted. After all, the fortune comes at some cost, right? The kids benefit from the fortunes their parents make off their illicit jobs. They are treated special due to their parents positions. They need to know that their parents are monsters. We must stop coddling the kids. Life can and should be ugly for those entire gangster families. -

She will likely be let off. Now that Pheu Thai has cut the treasonous deal with the army, all bets are off. They completely betrayed their base of support, and the nation. The army is the last institution in the world this nation wants anything to do with. Any reputation they may have once had, has gone down the drain with those very long 9 years of ineptitude, malfeasance, corruption and theft. So, where does the nation go from here? It is likely to continue it's backwards spin. Perhaps into near oblivion and even a greater degree of irrelevance. It is likely after jumping in bed with the army, all charges will be dropped. Did they sacrifice the long term well being of the nation to avoid his prison term? Yes, and just say no to the incredibly toxic and heinous Thai army. Thailand mourns. For now, its future has been stolen once again by the army thieves and goons. The army is no doubt the enemy of the people, and so is the new stooge PM. The recent election shows that the people are both sick of being led by highly ignorant dinosaurs, with no interest in progress, and are interested in smart, young folks, who are serious, accomplished, capable of change, reform, getting rid of ridiculous laws, and interested in insuring that Thailand has a good future. Pita is exactly what this nation needs, at this point in time. However, he was too progressive, and the goons had to stop him, in the name of regression.
