When I lived on Samui many years ago the big hazard was low hanging signs from stores with very sharp edges. You could easily cut your forehead wide open by walking into one of these, you're looking down at the incredibly uneven sidewalks and it's hard to always have total situational awareness when hazards are all around you, up, down and all around. The authorities need to do a better job of monitoring this kind of thing and public safety needs to be taken seriously. It's not something that's ever been a concern for any of the officials.

What does Thaksin have to do to get sister Yingluck home?
spidermike007 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Just ask the Army leaders, that's all. His party already jumped in bed with them and he's already compromised everything in the way of faith that the people used to put in him and his family. So why not just compromise it further? Ask the foul, toxic, corrupt army and ye shall get. -
Thai cult leader condemned for performing oral sex on followers
spidermike007 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
What an utterly bizarre story, and what an utterly unappealing concept. Can you just imagine doing that to random women of all ages, shapes, and sizes? Yikes. And the women who say OK, seems normal. Some people just have some strange concepts about life. -
Wrong. You would have to add in easy to attain regional helicopter flights, private jet flights and small plane charters throughout Thailand and the region, which Thailand does not have. Is this due to the Air Force being extremely greedy and possessive about the airspace? Is there another explanation for the lack of private flights here?

The last time I got covid I had two days of flu symptoms, two days of cold symptoms and then it was gone. My most recent cold lasted a week and I would have to say it was far more unpleasant.

Thailand to abolish hefty import tariff on wine

Though I cannot fault your articulation, I certainly can fault your multiple presumptions that are based on nothing but prejudice and thin air. I don't know if I shopped in Kmart in the last two decades. Ha, got you there. -
Good summary. Thanks. What if one were to make one or two annual bank transfers to a Thai wife's bank account? Will that kind of thing be tracked, or raise a red flag of any sort? What if someone travels back and forth to their home country, and carries back 10 or $15,000 each trip? Will it only draw attention if deposited into an account here? And lastly, how would they be able to monitor and account for ATM withdrawals?

There is a very simple solution to this problem. If the authorities were interested about solutions. The burning has to stop. There are alternatives, to this 19th century technique of burning after the sugar cane harvest. Either the government starts to encourage farmers to switch to more environmentally friendly crops, or they start to penalize farmers for burning. This heinous burning, is leading to a tremendous degree of environmental degradation, and alot of lung disease. So here is what I propose- 1. Fine the farmers 5,000 baht for a first offense, and give them a stern warning, that burning is now prohibited, and the second fine will be very harsh. 2. For a second offense, fine the farmer 100,000 baht, levy it against the land, if unpaid, and warn them that if the burning continues, their land will be confiscated. 3. On the 3rd offense, confiscate their land. Period. No questions. No legal proceeding or appeals on the part of the farmers. Allow others to come in and purchase the land at a fair price, with the caveat that sugar is prohibited as a crop to be grown on that land. The news would travel faster than the toxic smoke, and farmers would change their ways overnight, and move into the 21st century. Then they can move on to tackle the sale of diesel vehicles, and the government's enthusiastic support of such. It is inane in this day and age. Most nations are moving away from diesel for good reasons. When they are not well maintained, they foul the air, with large, nasty particles, and huge clouds of noxious black smoke. And how many properly maintain their diesel vehicles here? Stop the burning. Now.

Thai man cites inheritance arguments as motive for drowning family
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
His father sounds like he was a very sensible man. He was very unimpressed with this little worm, who never amounted to anything. Oh I might not be able to get any money, I think I'll just go ahead and destroy my whole family. -
Is it possible to blow the whole lot of them off the face of the earth? I suspect even their mothers wouldn't miss them.

Time to crank up the panic levels and keep the people afraid, keep them very afraid. Personally I'm more worried about catching a cold or a flu than the latest variant of an endemic virus.

Very amusing coming from the man who co-authored the near total destruction of Thai nightlife. Some of the devastation can be blamed on Covid. Much of it can be blamed on Prayuth, Anutin and their band of goons and thieves. It was more and more apparent by the day, that the destruction and sabotage of Thailand's tourism industry was likely deliberate, and planned out. Nothing else makes sense. They had been wanting to get rid of the nightlife for as long as they were in power. What better way to do this, than use the cover of Covid? Reduce the entire industry to ashes, then rebuild it, in their own pure as snow image. Without a trace of nightlife, or a hint of a sex industry. Anutin is a sabateur. And he engaged in the Prayuth Decimation.

I guess it is taking many of us sometime to figure you out, but now we know the vast majority of your posts are just simply meant to get a charge out of us, so this one was no exception. Nothing like those hopping dead folks, I think they're related to the Shrinking Foot Clan. Once your foot shrinks to a certain point due to bizarre traditions, you can't really walk anymore so you have to hop!

You are misunderstanding my premise. I'm talking about using an immigration official as an agent so the work is done within the office and it's entirely on them. It's official, it's not done on the outside. It's a completely different thing when you're paying off an immigration agent directly rather than an outside agent. They're all above the law, any and all laws.

How would you describe heaven?
spidermike007 replied to Chris Daley's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
A comfortable house with a great woman who has an amazing attitude, and always has my back. Enough food on the table, enough gratitude to truly appreciate the things that we have been blessed with in life, and a good attitude on a daily basis. Add in good health and I don't think it gets much better than that. -
Mysterious mass death at Chiang Mai Night Safari shocks Thailand
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Chiang Mai News
They attributed the tiger’s death to ageing and stated that another white tiger cub had died earlier, at less than ten months due to weak health and infection. Several other animals had also died or disappeared, allegedly due to predation by pythons, preventing the recovery of their remains. All within one month. Huh? Purely coincidental? Nope. Don't thing so. Neglect? Poor care? Maintenance issues? Deflect. Never, ever take responsibility for your actions. -
Nualphan lines up biggest challenge yet: Saving Thai football
spidermike007 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I know nothing about women's football in Thailand, but my question is about men's football. A lot of these teams seem to have big name sponsors. Are these sponsors simply unwilling to pay for very talented foreign players? There are a few foreign players but they all seem to make relatively modest amounts of money, are these sponsors just cheap Charlie's?
