  1. After 9 years of turning Thailand from the once great tiger of SE Asia, into a whiny, sickly, anemic alley cat, and nearly destroying the entire tourism industry, with highly selective, draconian shutdowns, favoring his cronies, and crushing the common man, and other extremely foolish policies, it is only upwards from here. Nobody could wage a more successful campaign of destruction and economic decimation than the sorry, pathetic, incapable, foolish Thai army goons. Pita has actual experience in business, compared to what?
  2. Nothing to worry about. Even if they succeeded in raising the minimum wage, and other policies, it would affect us a little bit, but not alot. I do not think many of the other policies would affect us, and I think Pita would select ministers who are considerably less xenophobic, and afraid of the outside world, than Cha Cha did. Just think Anutin and Big Joke. About as racist as they come.
  3. 1. None of the issues existing before Covid were ever addressed. Typical Thai style. These goons in charge won't take responsibility for anything. 2. Many economies have been devastated, and Thailand's tourist base of primarily lower income Indians, Chinese and Malaysians were hardest hit. 3. Thailand cannot and will not attract wealthy or even affluent tourists, for a dozen good reasons. No sacrifices are being made, to make Thailand more appealing to them. 4. Thailand is a nation in reverse. It is moving backwards, and represents the polar opposite of progress on countless levels. It is simply NOT becoming a better version of itself. The environment, traffic and public safety, horrific law enforcement, corruption, air quality, etc. Add to that heinous luxury and wine taxes, and you have an environment wealthy tourists avoid like the plague. 5. You cannot shut down the entire tourism industry for nearly 2 years, decimate the nightlife, hotels, restaurants and countless related businesses, engage in a very poorly planned vaccination program, create a climate of fear and panic, and then just expect because you open your doors again, millions will flood in. The world does not work like that. 6. Thailand is NOT the center of the known universe. It is becoming less relevant by the minute. Tourists are forgetting Thailand. Thailand needs foreigners 100x more than they need Thailand. I could go on and on and on. The goons just do not get it. At all.
  4. As the ever gracious Martina Navratilova said, let them compete. Just create a new category for them. It is the only fair solution for women who have devoted their young lives to a sport.
  5. Another poorly written article, stating something that means nothing without data. Increased 200% over what? 2022 sales? Pre-pandemic sales? 2021 sales? They are giving us nothing to work with. Only a sensational headline, likely encourage by a well placed PR agent, representing the industry.
  6. This had nothing to do with food. This was all about a drunken fool, who is a miserable human being, taking out his frustration of his poor wife. What a worm. According to an aunt of the victim, the couple had been living on her land for about two years and regularly argued when Sathit was drunk, almost daily. The wife, who didn’t drink, would often flee from these altercations. The aunt suspected Sathit was also under the influence of drugs and alcohol during the incident, which likely led to his erratic behaviour. Before the shooting, he had reportedly consumed two bottles of alcohol.
  7. Because being woke now, is entirely different I meaning than the sort of woke you refer to. Being woke in today's world means being unconscious and under a hypnotic spell of the leftist extremists. Just one aspect of this disease: Ironically, the sexist woke movement has allowed men to take hormones and undergo surgery to become females—even as their immutable skeleton frames, muscularity, or organ characteristics ensure an unfair and asymmetrical contest. The lives of thousands of young female athletes will likely be diminished. Each sprinter, every swimmer, and all female pole-vaulters will now inevitably at some future date have a rendezvous with career implosion—defined by losing to a transgendered female/biological male. https://www.independent.org/news/article.asp?id=13968
  8. I cannot understand it either. But, I am the least PC guy you will encounter. It is not a lack of respect. I have plenty of that. It is all about the cancel culture, and the extreme weakness that PC creates within a culture. I just will not have anything to do with any of that. As I get older, I am developing a new skill set. I am becoming very good at ignoring nonsense, ignorance, naivety, and overly judgmental people. They barely register on my horizon. Social media seems to have amplified things and the media itself is "overly woke", which essentially means unconscious. I just don't care. Water off a ducks back. Don't have time for the foolishness. As Bill Maher said recently, the things that seem important in Los Angeles, likely mean nothing in Des Moines. And how many dinner conversations do you think you will encounter in rural Ohio, about my trans child? Or my transitioning child. Or any such nonsense? It is the tendency of the progressive wing of the Dems, to ask the world to acknowledge their preferences. Not me. I do not do PC. I hate PC. Do not even consider forcing your PC junk on me. My family emigrated from Russia over a century ago, to the US. Do I call myself Russian American? No. Why? There is nothing Russian about me, other than some relatively hidden DNA. I love what Clint Eastwood has to say on this topic. When asked about Dirty Harry he said: “It was far-out at that time, so I brought it to [director] Don [Siegel], and he liked it,” Eastwood recalled Sunday during a visit to the Cannes Film Festival. “A lot of people thought it was politically incorrect. That was at the beginning of the era that we’re in now with political correctness. We are killing ourselves, we’ve lost our sense of humor. But I thought it was interesting and it was daring.” https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/clint-eastwood-decries-pc-culture-cannes-weve-lost-sense-humor-1005933 In another interview, he elaborates further: “I’m never cautious about what I say because, you know, I’ve been around a long time, what can they do? The political correctness era that we’re in is really not doing anyone any good. It’s taking everyone and weakening society. It doesn’t seem that people have to take themselves so serious,” Eastwood said. “It seems like, I’m just lucky that I grew up in an era where we all lived in an area where everybody joked about everything. Nothing was politically incorrect because everything was always a joke with a sense of humour. People sometimes are losing that and taking themselves and everyone else seriously. I think they’re missing a lot and not enjoying the differences that we all have.” https://theplaylist.net/clint-eastwood-political-correctness-20180208/ Few could have said it better. And I am in total agreement with all of it.
  9. It may not be up to them. It may be in possession of the extremist woke "progressives". In the US they control the way people are supposed to speak, the curriculum in schools, etc. And it is likely they are 2% of the population, if that.
  10. This could be the beginning of a very good thing. If you think about it, it is not like the relationship with the junta here resulted in anything positive for the Burmese people. So, by isolating them, and denying them whatever degree of legitimacy they had, by being "friends" with Thailand, makes them even more of a pariah. Of course, they could use Thailand's dependence on their natural gas against Thailand. But, I am sure there is enough gas available elsewhere. And since Thailand owns an 80% share in the Zawtika gas field, it would be extremely risky for Burma to play that card. It may also force the nation to become less dependent on natural gas for power, which now stands at around 60% of the nation's power. Already, since 2017 and 2021, Thailand's imports of gas from Burma has dropped from 17% to 15% of it's total. https://asian-power.com/power-utility/news/thailand-gas-imports-myanmar-drop-15-in-2021-report When the Burmese army says they are uninterested in politics, that is total BS. They are power hungry thugs. Utter pigs and despots. The multi billionaire generals are thieves, robbing the people of their gems, their timber, their minerals and selling heroin for the sake of amassing wealth. And supported by extremist Buddhist monks against the minorities. Broken men. With their recent overthrow, they have self revoked the right to consume oxygen. May the Myanmar youth prevail! May the dinosaurs be pushed out. A pox on their families. A terrorist army.
  11. Is the term ladyboy now discouraged? Are we seeing PC creeping into Thai culture too?
  12. So, stick with authoritarian, fascist, communist or genocidal leadership? Better?
  13. The policies they are promoting are good for the nation, including the one we cannot discuss.
  14. Move forward is a great name for this party. The Cha Cha party should have been named the Party of the past, or Move backwards, or the Juraissic era.
  15. General Soe Win is a genocidal terrorist, and a madman serial killer. Of course he is going to feel threatened by a neighbor with forward thinking policies. And of course he would have been more comfortable with the extremely regressive Thai army, and backward dinosaurs like Cha Cha. Too bad. If he wants to isolate their ugly regime further, it is on him. History will remember these maniacs.
  16. Shaming people into submission is not an act of violence. It is holding people accountable for their moral transgressions. And I do not think the families are off limits. They are leading lives of luxury, due to ill gotten wealth. They must be made to pay for it, and making them conscious of the extent of the corruption their mother or father is engaging in, is only positive for society.
  17. You clowns don't have a choice. If you don't vote for Pita, the people need to call them and their children, siblings, and parents out at work, at school, at restaurants, and in public. Embarrass them to no end. Make them conscious of the incredible amount of damage and erosion to democracy they are causing, and let Cha Cha know we are not buying his "I will be cooperative, and honor the results" nonsense. If these illigitimate clowns don't act like adults and cooperate, all bets are off. Their health, safety and welfare could be in jeopardy. The people will not tolerate it.
  18. Dinosaurs are resistant to change and progress. Guess they need a scapegoat. Harder for them to admit the people simply despised ChaCha and the army rule. Ignorant in all forms must be completely ignored.
  19. The one in the Asok BTS station may be the closest one for you.
  20. If indeed it happened as you say, there is not much he could have done. You make some valid points. But, as we know both the judicial system and the mental health care system (or lack thereof) have failed the Thai people.
  21. As is the case with the subs, it is severe over reach, on the part of the greedy, nearly useless armed forces of Thailand. They are vampires, sucking the life blood out of the nation, and their power and budgets need to be curtailed. In a big way. There is no way a man with the very limited mind of Cha Cha, could ever begin to grasp or understand why the US would turn down Thailand. After all, within his own tiny world view, he lives within the center of the known universe.
  22. Excellent news. The nation needs it. And it helps with the horrific heat we have been experiencing. All good. Some damage here and there is expected, and a small price to pay for the blessing of the rains.
  23. Very strange. Usually it is the Thais who create the noise. And usually the Thais barely even hear noise, much less get annoyed by it. One would think this could have been resolved with a friendly conversation. If I were in his position, and a neighbor complained about my music bothering them, I would most certainly turn it down. Looks like the tiny man Prasut Thipthep over reacted, just a bit. One evening of loud music, and now his life as he knew it is over. And so is someone elses. What a bizarre, stupid, ridiculous, petty, immature, and undeveloped man Prasut Thipthep is. I hope he is sentenced to a long prison term (an immediate death sentence would be far more appropriate), and makes alot of close friends in prison, where he will learn the meaning of real noise.
  24. Why, oh why? I understand the interest in a sports figure or a celebrity. But, why follow whatever they do and say? They are people. Why treat them as dieties? And who has the time to keep up with all the tweets and messages? Why? I just don't understand celebrity worship culture. Thankfully.
  25. I think this is a big mistake. The reversal would be unfortunate. I like this guy, but I think he is on the wrong side of history, on this issue. Is this about getting support of the crooked senators? Maybe.
