  1. Alot of the has beens and guys who cannot win will defect. It takes a certain kind of desperation to accept big money from serial killers, and then pretend all is fine. The Saudis are one of the true enemies of the West
  2. Sounds like you haven't been there in a while. Bintabang is history. That entire area has faded. All the action is now between soi 94 and soi 88. Dozens of new bars and clubs.
  3. Load up the court. I would like to see Biden attempt to add 10 justices, to make up for the extreme imbalance of the court, and their inability to be fair and just.
  4. You are mistaking official wages with actual income.
  5. I see an extremely low nunber of Thais without masks. What they are saying and what they are doing is a gulf far too wide. Most foreigners are not wearing masks outdoors, and I hope we are setting an example.
  6. Crime is on the rise in the US. Statistics can be misleading. Ask any American who lives in a big city. Violence is up. Theft is skyrocketing. It is a thoroughly broken society.
  7. True. But nosebleed seats. You would need a powerful spotting scope to see anything on the stage. Just not appealing.
  8. Something needs to be done. And American politicians are very weak and in constant fear of fighting a constitutional amendment that was written at a time when militias were needed and guns were manual and fairly primitive. Everything has changed, and the amendment does not have the same meaning, nor should it. Violence is out of control, yet they do next to nothing about it. America seems to adore it's violence.
  9. Fortunately, these latest revelations seem to be affecting the support of even many of his die hard supporters. His numbers are dropping daily, and his fund raising is tanking too. Unfortunately, the US is so dysfunctional at this point in time, the chances of an effective leader being elected anytime soon are remote at best. And congress and the senate are irreparably broken and ineffective too. It is a nation in significant decline. On so many levels.
  10. Thailand is hopelessly behind the curve, when it comes to any transportation alternative to the ultra clogged and spectacularly dangerous highways. It is an abomination. The lack of planning is a boil on the face of the nation. And rail cargo should have been a priority for the past 75 years. The quantity of trucks of every size on the highways, combined with a non existent highway patrol, unwilling to enforce any highway laws, makes travel difficult and frustrating. Shame on Thailand.
  11. It is likely the current approval rating of Cha Cha and his band of goons is under 3%. They are despised by the masses.
  12. While in office he and his associates remain above the law. One can only hope once this toxic man is ousted he will be charged with crimes and either imprisoned or sent into exile, like so many past PM's. This man is really bad news, and has no leadership ability, whatsoever.
  13. Many of us simply do not understand the willingness to part with crazy money to see a show, in a crowded environment, and questionable acoustics. I was reading about the latest Bruce Springsteen tour in the US. Tickets cost up to $6000. One has to be either cavalier about money, or somehow desperate for fulfillment to pay that kind of money for a show.
  14. I wonder what Lou would think of a transitioning wolfaterian. Yes, I saw the movie "What is a woman?", which is highly recommended viewing if you want to see how far out things are in the US, right now. Some people refuse to talk anymore, and only communicate in the sounds of their chosen animal species! And the teachers in school cannot complain.
  15. Let us agree to disagree. Have friends with gorgeous homes and condos there, the selection of great hotels is impressive, the food is excellent, the proximity to Bangkok, Kanchanaburi, Prachuap and points south is excellent, and I know many who love living there. And HH has a huge expat population.
  16. I was just in Bangkok and saw very, very few Thais without masks outdoors. Many foreigners were not wearing them, including myself. In many provincial towns, I see very few without masks, even on motorbikes.
  17. Just not true. Hua Hin is a large population center, has a large expat population, and is popular among local and foreign tourists. The location is ideal for a hub, and that airport is needed. Any alternative to flying into or out of Bangkok is outstanding.
  18. We should have the option to keep wearing masks indoors, and in crowded place. And skip masking outdoors, if we choose to. And there should never be a need to mask up on a motorbike. Endless boosters will likely not end this. Common sense will. Let us not allow fear to prevail.
  19. Mayne, but the trains desperately need upgrading, as they seem like a trip back in time, and they are rarely ever on time. I have sat on platforms for 3 hours before.
  20. My contention is that if we are not making a conscious effort to better ourselves, to be pleasant, funny, and filled with joy and good will, the opposite happens as a result of the indignities of the aging process. So, Lou is just one of the hundreds of millions of old timers, who have not worked at maintaining his attitude, and has succumbed to being a human black cloud. I just ignore those types and don't engage them. They can keep their ranting, misery and lack of understanding of life's basic principals to themselves.
  21. Maybe not. That is subjective. I like HH. Great good. Relaxed. Not expensive. But regardless, that does not negate it's potential usefulness as a hub for travel elsewhere. Anything to take pressure off the Bangkok airports, and anything to avoid Bangkok traffic. I think HH flights would be very useful and the airport would be popular, if they offered a range of local and regional flights.
  22. Not man made climate change. Nothing we could do could possibly have a negative effect on the planet. We are not responsible! It is a coincidence!
  23. One can only hope they start utilizing Hua Hin airport more. It is an ideal location for a regional hub, and few of us can understand why it is so devoid of flights and utility.
  24. No. You can enter and exit for as long as you like, as many times as you like, until your visa expires. The multiple entry is very convenient.
