  1. I think you meant billions, not million in GDP?
  2. It is beyond rational, that Thailand has not done this already. For the movement of cargo, if nothing else. The highways are clogged with trucks of all sizes, due to a lack of planning. And the trains here are quite an embarrassment. Even if you decide to travel by train here on the antique cars, you have to deal with consistent delays of 30 minutes to 3 hours. I gave up using them. The rail projects should be accelerated. Thailand is 40-50 years behind the curve, when it comes to public transportation, with the exception of Bangkok. The railway here is sickening. I recently tried public transportation, from Hua Hin to Samui. Took a 5 hour express train from HH to Surat. All good. Except the train was 3.5 hours late between a 2.5 hour delay in arriving, and an additional hour added, on the way. Unacceptable. Then I took a VIP bus back from Samui. Left the pier at 6:45pm. Arrived in HH at 4:00am. Even at 11pm, the traffic was a parking lot, due to the main north south artery for the nation, reduced to one lane, due to road construction. One hour spent going 5 kph. Unacceptable. Thailand desperately needs high speed rail, for people and cargo. The lack of planning is an abomination.
  3. With Cha Cha moving the nation backwards, we seem to be moving in the opposite direction of progressive and innovative. Regressive, is more like it. As much as the sabateurs talk about wanting the tourists back, they are not offering much in the way of concessions or sacrifices to get them. Tourism will never be the same again here. My heart goes out to those dependent on the industry.
  4. That alone is worth it. As poorly as Biden has performed, one more Trump term and we could be facing a civil war.
  5. My friends and I have met dozens FROM Issan. It is a very fertile spawning ground for the industry here.
  6. Pansexual or amorosexual is now the term many use, who used to be called bisexual. For me, it is just disengenuous, and wordplay.
  7. This is a beautiful thing. The last thing this world needs is more soi dogs. I would even go as far as advocating culling the population. It is not PC, and some will argue it is cruel, but being a soi dog is a cruel fate.
  8. You are likely correct. I doubt they would seek jail time for an ex prez. It would be precedent setting, and it would be absolutely lovely to see. But, I doubt it will happen. Unfortunately.
  9. I have friends who are very assertive, they step up to the plate often, all over Thailand, and you would be amazed how high their batting averages are. Only the pros, or freelancers tend to show outward interest.
  10. You don't get to become a four star general unless you're smart and capable of getting things done. Many of us would disagree, wholeheartedly. There are 2,200 generals in Thailand. Do you really think all are smart and capable? There are countless areas where Prayuth has failed, as a leader. He is moving the country backwards, at an alarming pace. Thanathorn, or a similarly smart and progressive candidate would and could do far better. Accepting the status quo, just because it is there, when he is regressive, oppressive and incapable, is not a good idea.
  11. "Patriot funds for the master promoter". You don't know where they are going, or how the money is going to be used, but trust him. For a self proclaimed multi billionaire, he sure seems unable or reluctant to use his own funds for anything political. Does self entitled come to mind?
  12. The option of a cashless payment is fine. But, don't tell me as a consumer that you won't take my cash. I will let my feet do the walking. Annoying. Man up.
  13. He has been very successful in the past, of milking his supporters, and then it is sort of vague, where and how the funds are actually used. Remind anyone of his entire career?
  14. How about acting on a search warrant to search for evidence, hidden by a potential criminal?
  15. Not sure of the veracity of your statement. Lots of people appear to hate abusive men, might have been more accurate. Reporting abuse of this sort is not taken seriously, from what I hear. So, that option is off the table. The wiser course of action is to never see them again. Change your number. Move. Extricate the parasite from your life. But, don't kill them. That is not rational. During the abuse? Sure. Much later? That is pre-meditated murder.
  16. This was not anything even approaching a break in. That is just far right jingoism. They had legal warrants. All authorized. Break ins are typically illegal affairs.
  17. I wonder if he will be charged with a crime. Would be quite a precedent setting affair. I say lock him up. He does appear to have thought he was above the law. Besides, he looks good in orange.
  18. Care to share a link? Obviously the authorities were more offended than we are. Then again, they are frequently offended. Does not take much. Thin skin combined with questionable morality creates a toxic mix. So much hoopla over something rather tame.
  19. Rice bran oil is very stable when heated. It is a very healthy choice. Lard is very hard on the liver. Almost indigestible. Olive oil is great for frying vegetables and other stuff, but with fried eggs the flavor is too much. Has that morning in Sicily taste.
  20. You made a promise to hold power only until a transition period and things were stable. You have broken that promise, and appear to be utterly intoxicated with the power. So, we cannot believe a single thing you ever say. Get out. Get out now. You are not liked, and you are not wanted.
  21. I can't imagine a scenario where they will be used against the neighboring nations. So, are they intended to be used against the youth rising up against the dinosaurs, once covid is a bad memory?
  22. No. Absolutely not. Only if you get seriously involved.
  23. Try to avoid any class of ototoxic antibiotics. They can cause tinnitus, as well as other maladies, and once you get tinnitus, it can be permanent. I speak from experience. Got it from antibiotics, for an ear infection. Not worth it. I wouldn't wish the condition of my worst enemy. Well, maybe. LOL.
  24. Minimal amounts of sugar. I try to avoid processed flours and use only good oils for cooking (rice bran, olive and sunflower), and always request food without MSG and sugar when eating out. No soft drinks. Plenty of water. I use alot of herbal supplements, and very little <deleted> from Big Pharma. No smoking. Drinking in moderation. Exercise as often as I can. Low stress. Pursuing my passions. Living in Thailand. All good!
  25. The Udon Thani area has alot of beauties. Buriram. Surin. Korat. Chaiyaphum. Issan creates some absolute stunners. And some very good, kind hearted ones too. Just keep in mind most are from modest families, so there is a significant financial component. But, that is the case most everywhere, unless she is educated and middle class. Then the needs can be a bit less. Maybe.
