Desperate search: Loved ones cross borders to find missing Chinese woman
marin replied to webfact's topic in Chiang Mai News
Or perhaps the young lady wants to get away from a controlling mother. But why Myanmar? -
Then you will get bland gunk. Without the chilis at all there is no Thai taste. Phet Noi would be better. Not Hot, Not delicious is not what you are looking for.

You are going to restaurants that cater to farung. So change where you go. Hit up a "Khao Gaeng" shop for some curry. Or get out of the tourist area and order a street side Krapow Mu. You will find what you are looking for, if that is the real Thai taste.

Beauty Queen's Life Shattered by Autoimmune Disease: A Cautionary Tale
marin replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
So does that mean caddies are synonymous with beauty queens? Rather misleading headline to go along with a rather suspect story. -

Thai citizen's overstay on British passport
marin replied to anchadian's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I have 25 year old twin daughters who are dual citizens who come and go often with their work. Getting a new passport will not solve the problem she has now. She entered on the British passport. Cant enter on one and leave on the other. She has to rectify her situation if she ever wants to travel internationally again. -
Thai citizen's overstay on British passport
marin replied to anchadian's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Sorry mate if you read the thread its expired. She needs to do some fast talking with a friendly immigration office. Which in her case will be difficult as evidenced by the fact she entered on her British passport to her own country. -

Exact opposite for me. Never seen such slow walkers. Seems to me the only thing they do quickly is driving a car.

Thai citizen's overstay on British passport
marin replied to anchadian's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
There is no logic. Not thought out at all, hence my comment in my first post. Now both she and the IO she was dealing with have a lot of questions to answer. Plus 20,000 baht not to the IO. Gonna be a lot of tears. -
Thai citizen's overstay on British passport

Sounds to me like wrong moves from the moment she entered. By paying a bribe its obvious she knew she was wrong. Interesting to see how it plays out. At least she wont be deported and banned from entering. Sorry but not the sharpest tool in the shed. -
Apples intrigue you? Not enough money in that. I suggest you go after the Petrol sellers. PTT, and Shell would be interesting to check out. You do seem to have the time and will.

With the agent I used 2 months ago there was no need to watch that. I only needed residence certificate and medical check. The only testing was the 4 physical reaction tests. You do spend 15 minutes watching something as you wait your turn to do the physical checks. The agent was not expensive as well. Money well spent. Only about an hour at the DLT.

Return of Chinese Tourists to Thailand Has Pros, Cons
marin replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
You obviously have an agenda. A very pro Chinese agenda. So much so you dont see humor. The comment you again are upset about was a joke. Secondly you have not read the attached article have you? Exchange views, dont espouse them. -
Return of Chinese Tourists to Thailand Has Pros, Cons
marin replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I dont think you know what the term Zero Dollar tours means. It means............. As its name suggests, zero-dollar tourism refers to packaged tours which are much less expensive than independent travel with one catch: tourists are taken on many shopping trips and are often required to buy overpriced products. Tour guides and drivers get a kickback from these shopping excursions, offsetting the loss on the tour’s initial cost. In most cases, these shops are Chinese-owned and the money tourists spend is diverted back to China. With more shops utilising mobile payments through WeChat Pay and Alipay, the payments don’t even have to be converted into local currency, avoiding foreign exchange fees that would normally go to local money changers.
