Driving licence renewal? DLT takes walk-in applications from now on
recom273 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
As mentioned this is old news, but I still had to to book an appointment when I applied for my plastic card last month. I have been enjoying the organization of online booking and queue systems at various government offices, it’s a shame to turn back now. I went through the DLT a couple of times last year to either renew or apply for licenses, in and out within the hour - then in previous years, you would need to join the snaking queue at 7.30 am and spend the best part of a day waiting. -

Thanks - I have this in my to watch library, I was trying to remember the Irish series that were recommended in the past. I found Kaleidoscope tried a bit too fast, simple, and irritating - it all came off as an oceans 11 ripoff so I gave up. Some returning series for the new year you might find around, Sky Roja originally from the same guy who wrote money heist - Amazon Prime Hunters, and a bit of dinner time viewing, Hornby, a model world. Currently watching Darkness: Those who kill is on E03 and I’m really into Manayek Did S04 of Fauda appear anywhere I haven’t checked yet? -
10/10 for observation! Big Joke was in Samui yesterday investigating an international school teacher accused of molesting a kindergarten kid. You know how these guys roll, we can presume he flies on business jets. One wonders why the Samui police are so incapable of investigating a crime that they need the big boss to come and solve the mystery.

I think you mean, the piece of paper he needs to request is the Bai Lap Long Pear (Pae) - not so much a certificate of spice.

Renewal Of 5 Year Driver's License
recom273 replied to patsfangr's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
I just had to sit my car license test last month and this is one of the questions I saw on repeat while learning the answers off by heart. It’s 6 months before expiry, which is news to me because I always understood as @scubascuba3 says, they usually won’t entertain you until 3 months prior. I guess as always depends on the clerk or wether or not they have had lunch or not. -
“I no go with customers - I just serve drinks” to tell the truth, I have never been with a bar girl, I always find the girls that “no - I not work in bar, I work in restaurant”

Cheers for the reply, I didnt see it before. I think, if you free range the birds then they get what they want from the wild. They peck at the ground all day long. We haven't had any issues. Foodwise, we have been experimenting - I was told by FB experts they need at least 20% protein, like game bird food .. the breeder just gives the 17% chicken food, we tried duck feed with higher %, but they were too big and ended up throwing them over the floor in an effort to break them up. We tried rice, but really its a low protien carb, that just fills them and gives no benefit .. so we are on an even path now of straight chicken feed. After 4 months, the birds, 8 in total, are awesome, looking clean and healthy. They eat about 30kg of feed a month, which is a little bit more than I was expecting to buy. They are funny as anything, they move around in a little herd never far from one another, they are very quiet thankfully, but when there is an issue, they go off! which is what we wanted. I never thought a bird could make a noise so loud. I would thoroughly recommend them as "pets" - we haven't got any eggs yet and would have loved to kill a couple to eat, but she isnt hearing any of it.

I made a resolution to do more with music production / radio this year. Was pounding this one out yesterday - maybe a change in direction to the regular posts in this thread, 1979 Sleeper. -
AFAIK there is an initial period whereby Lazada automatically select the courier, the seller has no option. Then after a while, the seller gains the ability to select the method. I don’t know if this is true or not. I was told by a seller, that they had no choice to use xxx but in the future they can offer a courier of my choice.

You can only find peers if there are some .. did you go back to the website and check the seeders, what is your client (utorrent) saying? Are there any seeder? Maybe worth checking and downloading qbittorrent, which is a better client imho.

I didnt notice any in Macro, but I always go before they allow sales. The bakery supplies / drinks wholesaler "Keng" on Lao Na Dii Road has a few bottles in their fridge - At the very least, a selection from Phuket brewery and another one company.

Scratch on wing - insurance or out of pocket

It's something I need to look into - I can contact the insurance company, now I have passed my driving test ???? -
Yup .. Just to add my two baht. We lived around the corner from the Kerry depot in Hat Yai - We had an excellent delivery driver (bike) same guy for about 2-3 years. He was employed directly by Kerry, afaik. Now in Khon Kaen, we get great service from Flash, usually the same guy. The Lazada guy, we got him trained now, if it's really late - we told him to chill out and bring the parcel the next day. I feel sorry for the guy, I guess somedays he has to pass, other days he is making a special trip for me. I can wait for parcels, if there is some effort on his part. But like Kerry, I get a message on the phone at 9:00 AM telling me the delivery has arrived in the depot, and will arrive today, 11:00 I get another message telling its out for delivery. At 3:00 PM a call, "err .. its a bit far for us, can we bring tomorrow" "no sorry, im waiting on the parcel, I have been waiting in all day because you sent me a message at 11:00 AM telling me it was going to be delivered today" - silence .. someone else comes on the line "tomorrow na" and I repeat the same line .. so please deliver as you agreed. The next thing the Lazada app reports that I didn't pick up the phone or the customer has rescheduled the delivery, which is balls, I wish they would just be honest. I think @D M G explains it all well.

The post was mostly about the NCB rather than a spray job. So, you don’t claim on the insurance for these odd jobs? I have been told by others (Thai and westerner) that the NCB Isn’t worth worrying about .. true or false? I would like a 50% on my insurance for starters. And i did suggest holding on a while before we push ahead, but it’s just really annoying on an otherwise immaculate truck. -

It’s just a horrid inhumane experience - I remember doing it In Vientiane, queuing by the side of the road in the mid-day heat nearly dying. As far as I remember, you had to queue to collect a number to retrieve your passport. It’s not like the technology isn’t in service, I just booked my driving test sight test, through an app on my phone which gives me a time to show up. There is no need to be standing on the street like cattle - some agencies like the land office and LTO really got their act together over Covid, seems like immigration in most parts and Thai consulates took the time to chill out with the lack of applicants.
-
They say that you now need to apply in person. They have removed the services of places like banana, which did a pretty competent job at checking all the documents up until 9.00 pm at night, before they submitted them to the consulate and moved the log jam to outside the consulate at 7:00 am. The demand may have increased, but they still didn’t prepare a place to deal with the existing traffic - Its the same every time. They were processing way over 50 a day before Covid and the requirements shouldn’t have changed that much. ”How many applicants do we have per day Somchai?” 500, Sir ”OK, let’s give them 100 chairs and three windows that can process 100 applicants a day, that will be fine”
