  1. From the official immigration website According to section 38 of the 1979 immigration act, “House owners, heads of household, landlords or managers of hotels who accommodate foreign nationals on a temporary basis who stay in the kingdom legally, must notify the local immigration authorities within 24 hours from the time of arrival of the foreign national.” https://www.immigration.go.th/?p=14721
  2. It depends on how incapacitated one is. For the worst case scenario, I have a living will with a DNR statement in it. I have registered it at the local hospital. Just to confirm things, I have told the cashiers that if I am completely incapacitated, no one will pay the bill. They got the message and it is recorded on my records.
  3. It is only a very large 'tax loss' because of Thailand's extortionate tariffs.
  4. I totally accept that there are 7 levels of heaven. Two young ladies in a Nuru massage place in Phuket once took me to level 5.
  5. It looks like this company is going for a 'grand slam' in fraud and other illegal practices.
  6. And the nasty, entitled little git who killed that policeman is still running around, as free as a bird. It is now nearly 13 years after he did it.
  7. Golden rule in life - "Treat everyone the same way that you want to be treated." Let us know which hospital you end up in. https://effectiviology.com/golden-rule/
  8. Not really. Much less traffic on the road now that high season has finished. March was much more busy. A quick flurry of visitors this weekend, Full Moon Party tonight. Not sure how busy hotels are though. The villas that we look after are all booked.
  9. A lot longer than that methinks. I was there for Songkran 25 years ago. Mayhem. Said that I would never return. The only time that I did go back was for a friend's funeral.
  10. There seem to be a lot of murdering barstewards down south. And TAT are trying to encourage tourism down there. What could possibly go wrong?
  11. China has been doing this in Thailand forever. Nothing to do with 'power drunk' Trump.
  12. Translates as 'do not have too much fun '.
  13. They should have put the probationers' names on the drawers.
  14. I wonder what will happen if the visit to Thailand is an emergency and within the three days?
  15. Very sad for the family but well done to Kh Jutamas for taking responsibility for things and taking the driver to the police.
  16. Pro Palestine supporters are blind to the fact that they are supporting terrorists, murderers and rapists. Even the hacker's name gives it away.
  17. There will be the same problem on Samui and I suspect other islands as well. Thailand and its people do not take water conservation seriously. Staff here do not understand why I do not allow water to disappear down the sink's plug holes. I have a plastic basin in every sink and the waste water is thrown on the plants. It's not a huge amount, but if everyone did this???
  18. Or be dragged along the road by a speeding big bike.
  19. Breaking news - major drug bust. A heinous 17 meth pills were discovered,
  20. Thais Thais looking at local producers instead of the real world? I buy coffee from Chiang Rai, a kilo at a time. The last two orders have both seen an increase in price. Witthayakorn Maneenate, the Director-General, needs to smoke less pot and look at the real world.
