  1. “Taxation is just a sophisticated way of demanding money with menaces” - Terry Pratchett
  2. I cant see what all the fuss is about. I should think Thavi Sodsong should fit in very well with his fellow MPs.
  3. And that is only your next door neighbours. The neighbours from hell are on the march.
  4. Paid 1000bht/month for about three years. The frequency of the visits was once per day, but this slowly declined to once or twice per month. Complained but no improvement, so stopped paying. Saves 1000/ month and the service is still the same, and no one complained about the loss. My argument is, why pay them twice for a service they get paid for, by the government?
  5. "UNION". One size fits all. Abide by the rules, but had nothing to do with setting said rules. Yeah, sure. Stick the unions where the monkey sticks its nuts. Once bitten, twice shy. Cynical perhaps, but unions have destroyed more than they have built. The EU is the prime example, but there are others closer to home.
  6. Yes. Great if you like to be told what you can and cannot do, by your neighbours.
  7. The public were conned big time to get the UK in, and MPs tried the same thing when we voted out. The reason in both cases was, fingers in the pie. Better off out than be dominated by a foreign country.
  8. Yes, it was, for the EU. They have done everything possible to cause major problems in any way possible to tank the UK, and are sick up to their eyeballs because they haven't succeeded. They didn't want us to begin with, then they realised the monitory gains, but were sick as pigs when they lost it though ignorance and their stupid one size fits all attitude. We are well out of it.
  9. All three in my estimation. The idea of removing the trees and then the land slides, it has already happened, so wont happen again. Logical really!!! And we all know how logic works here?
  10. Well done. There is a box of medals in the bottom left hand draw of my desk, come and help yourself.
  11. One cannot see around buses or heavy goods trucks, so what is the problem?
  12. "When God is in everything ( for those with eyes to see ) God is not hiding- is in plain view." If he is hiding in plain view, I have yet to see that. Also, I dont think much to his sense of humour. Which can only be described as, a sick mind. If the Big Bang came from nothing, it cannot have been made by god? Nothing comes from nothing!
  13. So, where was this god hiding prior to the supposed big bang? Nothing can come come from nothing, that is a fact. Or can it?
  14. Just as a personal opinion. I find so many supposed religious people to be more than hypocritical, one of which in a church when I was 14, totally destroyed any form of faith I may have had at that time. My life has seen many forms of contradiction in the 69 years since, and I cannot possibly believe there is a god of any kind, who would let the world travel on the course it has taken over the past 5 to 10 thousand years. That may or may not be a narrow perspective, but I have seen nothing that would persuade me to change my view.
  15. You are correct, Katatonica. I knew I had seen it somewhere, but couldnt remember where.
  16. He has obviously been taking lessons from the Numbskull of a PM in the UK, he changes his mind like the clock changes time.
  17. Religion! It came about when the first conman met the first fool!
  18. Sorry for not answering earlier. Not 100% on this, but I believe his clinic is close to Soi 15 Sri Chan Road. It is also a dental clinic which his wife runs, and as far as I know, the only one along that stretch of road. Green and white painted front, or it was last time I saw it.
  19. Possibly spoilt by all the tourists, but I do remember it from many, many years ago.
  20. I used the term Bank Teller very loosely. I dont really remember the details so well as it was many years ago, possibly before you were around? And I might add, I clearly stated it was NOT for immigration, or did you miss that bit? If as you think, bank statements will become part of requirements, I will cross that bridge when I get to it, and not before.
  21. Well if that is so, it was a funny Cobra I saw the other day. Most definitely a poisonous snake if ever there was one. I let it go on its way, which happened to be into next doors garden. I did say to the guy about it, but he just shrugged his shoulders and said, "I not seen."
  22. After more years than I can count, I have never been asked for bank statements. I did ask at the bank some years ago for a statement, but the bank teller insisted, statements were not necessary. I then had to explain the 12 month statement was for my benefit, not immigration.
  23. A return to the family run business, then?
  24. I do not have a tax liability, is that OK with you? No doubt you find it difficult getting on and off your horse!
