  1. Who is telling porkies her? "Despite having reportedly extended her visa just days prior, Viscomi was informed at the airport that her visa had expired, rendering her stay illegal." If such was the case, how did she acquire the emergency travel document? Sounds like the check-in staff have made a big cockup? Much as appreciate there was a tear on the passport, it wasn't defaced as such. But low cost airlines are possible more careful?
  2. That is not so unusual, and more so over the past 20 years!
  3. I don't do air travel like I used to. However, this is one reason I strongly object to staples being use to attach papers into my passport. Although knowing how some immigration officers handle passports, even using a paperclip could cause damage. For instance, is really necessary to staple the 1900B receipt onto a page of the passport, also the 90 day report receipt? It is after all, a defacement of the passport.
  4. No visa on arrival at India, then?
  5. I may be wrong? BUT, I believe the UK Royal Mint produce the Thai coins. If not now, they certainly did so up to a short time ago?
  6. Finding the dummies is not so difficult
  7. For the amount sold, it has very poor results!
  8. When did any politician not get a kickback? Its why they are politicians, surely.
  9. I believe you have misunderstood what hotchilli meant?
  10. Yes, it can be made up. This crowd already has. Flip Flop!
  11. I came on the recommendation of a Thai acquaintance many moons ago. A great 3 week holiday and returned every year until I retired. Knowing how cheap it was to live here I moved within a month of retirement and haven't looked back. And its still cheap.
  12. I'll believe you, but there are few who wont.
  13. Bangkok used to be known as the Venice of the East. Then some clown thought it a good idea to fill in the canals to make more roads due to the increase of cars. Now they wonder why Bangkok floods every rainy season. I can remember the first time I came to Thailand, over thirty years ago. The high water mark in the building of Sukhamvit road was at least 4 feet and the place stunk of effluent. I was not impressed. It has been 10 years since I was last in BKK and I wasn't very impressed then, either.
  14. I don't see the problem. The bank teller can read Thai and the photo can confirm ID. There is also the addition of a signature, although that is no guarantee of ID, but there is a signature in the back of the bank book which is checked at the point of use.
  15. Depends on the bank. I have had the pink card accepted at the main KBank branch I use, but not at another in the same province but different town. The KrungThai Bank always insist on my passport. I don't use the Banks counter service very often, its usually the bank app or the ATM.
  16. And make him replace the motorcycle, or how does the guy get to work?
  17. Yes, well. Rockets are very overpriced at the moment😇
  18. With one caveat, they are as hard as frozen peas. I have to admit I do but them, but I open the can and stand it in a pan of water and bring it o the boil for about 20 minutes. It doesn't improve the flavour, but with a stir or two it does soften the beans.
  19. This story was in the Daily Mail last week and was due to his own stupidity. Over stay on his visa and then working illegally as a teacher. He got what he deserved.
  20. Obviously too thick to put two and two together by serving the drinks, taking the money to be put into the cash register after five PM.
  21. If the education was half way decent, the government wouldn't have the problem to tackle.
  22. You skin-flint, you.🤑
