Google 'standing desk' its a generic term for a desk you work at while standing and many are adjustable from sitting to standing.

Very well aware. Sorry, I was in my sarcastic mood at the time.

There is an official translation of your name, it involves having a translation of your name certified by the Thai ministry of Foreign Affairs.

An official certified translation is required to get married, get a yellow book etc

My experience regarding translation for marriage and yellow book, marriage was not required and the yellow book was just a simple translation from a local translational shop done while I waited. I don't suggest you are wrong, but we all know municipal offices requirements are different from one end of the country to the other.

Gawd, stop winding yourself up into a frenzy.

i just rang Phangnga Immigration who said it was BS, not required.

Ring your local immigration and get back to us.

I suggest everyone ring their local immigration and ask the same question before posting here and feeding the fake frenzy before some of the nervous old members go into cardiac arrest.

This is just another wind up.

As is your post if, as you say we all ring the Immigration office. How long before some twit thinks its a good idea?

    This is ridiculous

for 364 days a year I can shop walk around do whatever just like anyone else and yet on just one day to visit one place (immigration) I need to get a covid test - how stupid is that

Jesus Christ - who thought that one up

There must have been a lot of thought put into it, its taken ten months just to get this far.

So what.. why do you expect the Thai government to take care of you. You are not Thai. I don't mind paying a private hospital. Also GF her company is looking into getting the vaccine themselves they are a medical company. I don't see the problem of governments not taking care of non Thais.

We made choices when we came here.. why expect a government to take care of us. If you want that then go back to your home country. There you are being taken care of have more rights.

A very blinkered outlook you have. The silver spoon must still have a brilliant shine to it.

At least re-open schools!  The so-called restrictions in Bangkok are minimal - shops/department stores, public transport, restaurants are operating mostly as normal (apart from the 9pm cut-off for eating in, and no alcohol) and social-distancing is pretty much forgotten.  But closing schools is a major inconvenience and has a huge impact on children (and parents!).

Fully understand your statement regarding the impact on children due to closed schools. However, just because the virus does not seriously impact on these children, doesn't mean they are not carriers and spreaders of said virus.

What plans have the Embassy made to innoculate British citizens living in Thailand? Will you be importing vaccines and arranging jabs? What is the timetable for this, and where and when can we register?

Not only where and when can we register, what locations will the vaccine be available? Under present restrictions, this could be difficult. I will add. If inoculations will NOT be made available to British citizens in Thailand, or any other expats anywhere, WHY NOT?
