"Fairly sure that I won't be able to live in a village like this, if I retire to Malaya...but....I think this style of living might be good for me." Yes, it looks lovely. You would have loved it......it's a "New Village": "Most were surrounded by barbed wire and watchtowers to stop people from escaping, with guards being ordered to kill anyone who attempted to leave outside of curfew hours" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_village Photo origin: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Briggs_Plan "Weaver of life, let me look and see, the pattern of my life gone by shown on your tapestreeeeeeee"

Elon Musk’s Estranged Daughter Seeks New Life Abroad After Trump Victory
Enoon replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Of course he is, he has spoken about it. It has been common knowledge for years: https://www.axios.com/2022/04/15/elon-musk-aspergers-syndrome Elon Musk reveals he has Asperger's on Saturday Night Live I worked with one.......it's not difficult to spot them if you make yourself familiar with their characteristic traits. Everyone likes to talk about how brilliant they are because of the few "stars", such as Musk, that appear. Truth is that the actual % of them that achieve great "success" is no greater than the % of neurotypical people who make a name for themselves in whatever field they work in. The one I worked with has been in the same job, at the same level, in the same company, since they left school at 16.......35 years ago. They have not changed/developed in that time....they will never go anywhere else. They make everyone around them miserable. -

"Uncommon dialect" of what? The Uighur language is a Turkik language and nothing to do with Chinese. It's as different to Chinese as Turkish is, They are a subject people to the Chinese.......a completely different and separate ethno-linguistic cultural group. They are as "NOT CHINESE" as Uzbeks, Khazaks and Khirgiz are. -

Navigating Friendships Amidst Conspiracy Beliefs: Finding a Way Forward

Al-Qaeda "manuals" about what? How to be a Muslim or how to make IEDs and/or brew Ricin?. ******-up teenagers, mostly males, download all sorts of terrorist materials, about how to carry out terrorist attacks, from any source that's going. You have heard part of the story.........your febrile prejudice has invented the rest of it. Small reminder, he is of a Rwandan parentage: 93.8% Christianity 3.0% no religion 2.2% Islam 1.0% other https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rwanda -
Airlines may deny you boarding a flight to Thailand if you do not have an onward flight from Thailand within the duration of whatever time your intended permission to stay in Thailand (visa or visa exemption) grants you. It is also possible that airport immigration in Thailand will want to see the same evidence. Thai immigration state that you should have it, but it seems to be a matter of chance, as it it is with the airlines, if they actually ask you to show it or not. Other countries also have the same policy, with airlines fying to them also taking the same attitude towards their passengers.

The best of Thailand. Their governments give them the dregs of a near empty bottle of water.......then drive off leaving them where they are. The worst of Thailand. -
Van Driver Found Dead in Vehicle at Suvarnabhumi Airport Gas Station
Enoon replied to Georgealbert's topic in Bangkok News
"Yes, it is possible to get carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning while running your car with the air conditioning on and the windows down, although the risk is lower compared to having the windows closed. Here are some key points to consider: Source of Carbon Monoxide: CO is produced by the combustion of fuel in the engine. If the car is running, it can emit CO, especially if the engine is not functioning efficiently or if there is a leak in the exhaust system. Ventilation: Having the windows down allows for some ventilation, which can help disperse CO. However, if you're parked in an enclosed space (like a garage) or in an area with poor air circulation, the concentration of CO can still rise. Air Conditioner Use: When the AC is on, it typically recirculates air from inside the vehicle. If CO enters the cabin, it may not be effectively diluted by outside air, increasing the risk of exposure. Symptoms of CO Poisoning: Be aware of symptoms such as headache, dizziness, weakness, nausea, and confusion. If you experience these while in a running vehicle, it's important to exit the car and seek fresh air immediately. To minimize the risk of CO poisoning, it’s best to avoid running the engine in enclosed spaces and to ensure that the vehicle’s exhaust system is in good condition." https://www.quora.com/If-you-are-running-your-car-with-the-AC-on-and-your-windows-are-down-a-little-can-you-still-get-carbon-monoxide-poisoning "Mr. Patcharin, the vehicle owner and Mr. Ekgarat’s employer, explained that the driver had been employed for just over a month and had reported frequent illnesses." If he had existing relevant medical conditions he would have been more vulnerable to CO. Existing or not, his reports may well have been an indicator that all was not well with the exhaust system. -

Hua Hin Hotel Manager Fired After Dispute Over Customer Review

Yes, the perceived tone of the manager was what caused the issue. Nothing to do with cost or poor service. Many AN respondents seem to have failed to grasp that. -

New visa exempt arrivals
Enoon replied to Lancelot01's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
What I didn't mention was that the IO had been doing to the same to the second person ahead of me and the senior initially arrived to take that person away. It was my presumption that his return was to update the IO on the outcome of that. What would have happened had he not returned when he did is anyones guess. My worry is what sort of treatment those snowbirds, such as me, who arrived in Sept/Oct, are going to get when they BBounce (after 30 day extension) and return for a 2nd VE in Dec/Jan. There there may be reason for wider concern as to we are going to be "tret", over the total duration of "seasonal" stay, having previously had no problems when using visa entry........bearing in mind that that it was officially stated that VEs would be available for multiple re-entrants. It did not take long for me to get over it.........I couldn't be @rsed to write it up in the nearly 2 weeks since I arrived and only did so when stimulated by the OP. I look forward to reading reports from those, in similar circumstances to mine, who have had no problems with their BBounce. I will find a satisfactory solution whatever. 🫠 -
Parking altercation at Nonthaburi market, two women stabbed
Enoon replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Imagine being on such distanced/poor terms with your neighbouring stall holder that your mere departure from your plot could be attended by such aggression, violence and bloodletting. "Indirect communicators believe that being polite is more important than giving a true response; to avoid hurting another person's self-esteem. Throughout the country, the most important values that Thai people hold to are 'respect', 'self-control' and a 'non-confrontational attitude'. It's beyond just stoicism." https://chailaiorchid.com/blog/thai-culture/ 😆😅🤣 -
It would depend how far over he swung in order to overtake and the proportion of the roads width that has been defined as "edge" by the police. In the meantime It is not unknown for idiots in/on (notice I am not using the term "in control of") any sort of vehicle to make excessively "sweeping" overtaking moves, even to the extent of bouncing their means of transport along the opposite verge. Everything depends........in this case on that of which we actually know nought.

Trump: ‘I Need The Kind Of Generals That Hitler Had’
Enoon replied to Etaoin Shrdlu's topic in Political Soapbox
They lost the war under his instructions. He started the war about 3-4 years before the military thought it would be ready (the navy especially weak) and then Dictated their ultimate failure. They were not stupid or incompetent, but Hitlers incessant interference in military operations doomed their efforts to failure. Hitler was an absolute ruler, the challenging of whose words, plans and ideas would very likely result in death. The Liberal Democracies did not allow for such absolutism, which played a major part in their successful prosecution of military operations........had they been under Hitlers absolute command they who would have suffered the great defeats that the German military did. The Orange Messiah wants good generals that he can also dictate to.......but they ******* hate him. Because they know he is a walking catastrophe, with the military competence of Saddam Hussein, who seeks to use them, like Saddam, as his personal instrument of oppression and ambition, He aspires to Dictatorship.......the idiots worship him, the GOP went along with him because they thought, as German Conservatives of the nascent NAZI era thought of Hitler, they could manage him as their attack dog against the Democrats. Never has it been so true that "those who do not understand history are doomed to repeat it". Never has there been such an hubristic, ignorant, uncomprehending mass of people, so blind to understanding, as his MAGAists. Either that or they are just plain evil and full knowingly worship at his altar of cruelty, resentment, hatred and bitterness........because, ultimately, that is their messiahs only "message". -
New visa exempt arrivals
Enoon replied to Lancelot01's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I also got **** last week at BKK, where I have been arriving for 16 years (with never a problem) on a visa of some sort. Always had a return flight to UK booked for 5-6 months after initial arrival in Thailand......same this year. This time I was making my initial arrival VE (first time ever, during 16 years, for initial entry) after being out of Thailand since April 1st. Happily the IO was interrupted by a senior mid-way during the incident and I was carelessly stamped in (brand new, empty passport) and brusquely waved through. I have never attempted a second entry by air in the 5-6 months or so that I normally stay in Thailand. Visa or VE I have never had a problem overland. Will not be taking any chances on my second VE in early January. PS On this initial entry I had accommodation docs + onward flight doc + wad of Charles 1 £50s.....never got to showing any of that. -

Take away the 10000 baht "trigger" and it's just another day in his life: "This was not the first time Jaturong had set fire to the family home. Manop explained that his brother had previously been jailed after setting fire to the house in a similar drunken incident." It's also just another day in their lives for the many other Thais who appear in the news after self-harming and/or destroying their own homes and property as a means of expressing their hopeless frustration with their desperate, ghastly, dirt poor, meaningless, ineffectual, existence. The same/similar event, minus the 10000, will pop up again soon enough ......as they have so often done in the past.

The "mistake" is so glaringly obvious it would not be unreasonable to think that it was deliberately created in order to garner attention, comment and, presumably, some sort of "profit" for whoever generated it. Maybe you did it? I don't trust anything in your "story". My interest in it, and anything else you have to say concerning it, or my opinion of it, ends now.

There is nothing peculiar about human beings requiring and obtaining emotional support from other human beings. It fact it rates 10/10 on the "Being a Normal Human" scale. There is no arguing with that...... except from weird, delusional, dysfunctional, lonely, isolated, creepjerks. "To be brutally honest". 🙂

University Student Dies After Collision with Truck in Chonburi

Reading the article before seeing the video had me thinking that the truck was overtaking and squeezed the MC into the parked vehicle........but no. Monumentally poor judgement by the rider. I imagine many Thai people might say: "Som nam na". -
Jatuporn Threatens Street Protests Against Casino and Land Lease Plans
Enoon replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Casinos will facilitate the spread of the disease. Those responsible for facilitating its spread will do nothing to facilitate treatment of the disease. The notion that building casinos is Thailand "looking after its people" is ludicrous. Those responsible intend to look after nobody except themselves.
