  1. % of children suffering sexual abuse by region (UK of course is categorised a European) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Child_sexual_abuse Systemic Institutionalised Child abuse in the Australian State of Victoria anyone?: https://www.hallpayne.com.au/blog/2024/january/vic-schools-sexual-abuse-inquiry/ "Initially, the inquiry encompassed 18 schools. The scope has now broadened to 24 schools, with the inclusion of Bundalong South Primary School, Chelsea Heights Primary School, Cowes Primary School, Drouin South Primary School, Kunyung Primary School, and Warragul Primary School. This expansion underscores the gravity of the issue." https://www.hallpayne.com.au/blog/2023/october/beaumaris-primary-school-sexual-abuse/
  2. Quite a few people do it for the money........and no other reason. Often heard from my fellow Uni students contemplating life after graduation: "I s'pose there's always teaching" (spoken with a downcast look of sad resignation)
  3. I left Thailand on 5th January (overland/river) to obtain an SETV in Laos. The night of 4th January I removed my TM30 receipt from my passport and started using it as a bookmark. Nobody at Thai Immigration (Departure) made any mention of the absence of TM30 evidence in my passport.
  4. I do not have one, I have broken no law. My house mistress, with whom I lodge, has failed, as usual, to notify Immigration within the recommended time frame. It is she that is at fault. When we go to immigration to extend my SETV it is me, as usual, who will cough up the fine on her behalf........first thing, as usual, when we arrive there. She will then do the report and I will get a copy of the "Receipt of Notification" stapled in my passport. After that I'll do the extension. Last time there wasn't any fine......nice surprise. The officer said there would be an 800baht fine the next time if the report wasn't done again, which wouldn't be so bad considering that previously I have had to pay more than that.......I think it was 1900baht before. Since the last extension I obtained a new SETV in Laos (a couple of weeks ago) and mistress has not reported me......we'll see how it actually goes, in a few weeks time, when I extend again. A person staying in an hotel or guest house, or lodging with their mistress friend, is not the person who is liable for the report.

  6. The aeroplane was an amphibious seaplane and used Phuket runway: But did the service have its own, dedicated terminal building and ground handling/operational area? That is what's being "inaugurated". It's even possible that this is the sort of thing they might have in mind, Noovilu Seaplane Terminal , Maldives:
  7. I do hope my favourite brands (Gaak, Baarf, Puuke and Huurl) were not among the "nine different brands" mentioned in the article.
  8. Yes E-visa very easy to get. https://immigration.gov.la/
  9. What you are describing is the work of the "Minister of Trade". That's where he belongs Not PM.
  10. Only the Thai government is stopping you: "Phra Vihan, as it is referred to in Thai, is a temple that was constructed atop a cliffside escarpment that lies across the border in Cambodia but is far more accessible as a day Trip from Si Sa Ket" "Cambodia allows day-Trip access to the Temple on a VISA-free basis from Thailand" https://www.tourismthailand.org/Destinations/Provinces/Si-Sa-Ket/585
  11. Pathetic, ignorant and stupid comment. https://www.racgp.org.au/afp/2012/august/evaluating-and-managing-patients-with-thyrotoxicos "Female:male ratio 5–10:1 Peak onset 40–60 years Diffuse, usually symmetrical goitre"
  12. Maybe he's quoting the customer verbatim? "Aha" I hear you say "Why didn't he put it in quotation marks if that was the case?" "I really don't know, what's your problem?" I reply.......but not actually giving a ****. After a minute or so re-writing I move to another thread, forgetting about this one.
  13. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Particulates There are also 144,999,999 other references to particulates on Google.

  15. You have to be careful when storing/handling/displaying dead dragons. They are liable to explosive spontaneous combustion if their fire chamber isn't properly drained during the postmortem preservation process. What happens is that any residual fire liquid crystallises and.........etc, etc.
  16. "My reply is always both nuanced and based on Science." Oh please do tell us what it is.
  17. Sure, the BBC is well known for spreading conspiracy theories: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-67958260
  18. "As has been said before - you can tell the quality of a person by the way they interact with animals." Not sure of the correct name for the mental disorder that people who talk that sort of nonsense have, but it is, without doubt, a mental disorder: https://www.murdermiletours.com/blog/which-serial-killers-and-murderers-loved-animals And those, with the exception of AH, are just the English ones. You are talking absolute bilge.
  19. And anyone who loves dogs is a really well balanced individual?; And just to emphasise what a lovely person he was: What was it you said?......."It would start with you". You mean the "Solution" to the "People not Loving Dogs Problem" How about getting a conference together to plan it?.........I hear that "Haus Wannsee" is still taking bookings. You people are a ******* curse.
  20. Except for the ones who have hooked/married Asean Now members of course.
  21. "Asked to choose three challenges ministers should prioritize, 66 percent of 2019 Tory voters said the cost of living; 41 percent said illegal migration routes such as small boats; 37 percent said NHS waiting lists for operations; and 25 percent said ambulance and A&E wait times." But instead the voters, ?169% of them?, chose four challenges. https://www.politico.eu/article/stop-the-boats-now-second-biggest-concern-of-tory-voters-poll/
  22. Tidal heights vary from day to day, just as sunrise/sunset times vary from day to day. High tides vary by over a metre at Karon. Last night looked to be the highest until the 25th, when the full moon will produce the highest tide......known as a Spring Tide, expect to see more sludge then, maybe the day before: https://www.worldbeachguide.com/thailand/karon-beach-tide-times.htm
  23. Yes you are. Thailand is in the process of bargaining its nationals out of being hostages. It knows that Hamas will not acquiesce to an Israeli demand for hostage release (as does Israel) and that Israel will use that as an excuse to redouble its efforts at genocide/ethnic cleansing........that's the Israeli strategy. Netanyahu has already written off the hostages, their loss was calculated as "colateral damage" when Israeli intelligence first discovered the Hamas plan and Israeli planned how to use it..........any Israelis that survive will be a bonus. He knew what was coming and did nothing to forestall it..........what he did was to prepare for the counterattack that would annihilate the Arabs of the Gaza strip. The Hamas plan, and subsequent attack, was a gift as far as he is concerned. There is no principle involved except the principle of continued expansion of Israels borders and the destruction/expulsion of Arabs in that process.............same principle that has applied since 1948.
