  1. " Trump has shown diabolically intelligent political. He was able to embody a new kind of leader to go against his own party, then against his democratic opponent. He was able to take on the role of a new man who was not part of the political elites who have been discredited by two catastrophes that deeply marked the American people: the war in Iraq and the financial crisis in 2008. Never mind that these were largely a result of Republican policies....those who represent the voices of protest anger, whether it be Trump or his European clones, have no idea how to solve these complex problems. They sell illusions, and Trump is the master illusionnist...

  2. Trump acknowledges climate change — at his golf course

The billionaire, who called global warming a hoax, warns of its dire effects in his company's application to build a sea wall.

Trump is hoping to have a two-mile stone wall built between his County Clare course and the Atlantic Ocean. According to the Associated Press, the beach in front of the 18th green is eroding at a rate of about one yard per year.

This isn't the first time Trump has been involved in a legal matter involving the environment and one of his Europe courses. In December, Trump lost a third court decision in his longtime battle against the creation of a wind farm near his Trump International Golf Links in Balmedie Scotland.

Excellent article from Foreign Policy on why China will be happy about a Trump victory.  Difficult to choose which section to quote to wet the appetite of those who like to stay informed, but I will go with the one that states the obvious:

"China no longer faces the prospect of Hillary Clinton, a tough, experienced opponent with a record of standing up to bullies. Instead, it faces a know-nothing reality TV star who barely seems aware that China has nuclear weapons, has promised to extort money from U.S. allies around China like South Korea and Japan, and has repeatedly undercut U.S. credibility as a defense partner. Trump is also exactly the kind of businessman who is most easily taken in by China — credulous, focused on the externalities of wealth, and massively susceptible to flattery."   http://foreignpolicy.com/2016/11/09/china-just-won-the-u-s-election-trump-victory/

American voters elected D. Trump for POTUS  much more;  and less in consideration of the " commander in chief" side of the token.

And even less as would be "leader of the free world"

So Russia is happy, China eyes this election as a chance.

  4. Michael Moore's  Morning After To-Do List

    1. Take over the Democratic Party and return it to the people. They have failed us miserably.
    2. Fire all pundits, predictors, pollsters and anyone else in the media who had a narrative they wouldn't let go of and refused to listen to or acknowledge what was really going on. Those same bloviators will now tell us we must "heal the divide" and "come together." They will pull more hooey like that out of their ass in the days to come. Turn them off.
    3. Any Democratic member of Congress who didn't wake up this morning ready to fight, resist and obstruct in the way Republicans did against President Obama every day for eight full years must step out of the way and let those of us who know the score lead the way in stopping the meanness and the madness that's about to begin.
    4. Everyone must stop saying they are "stunned" and "shocked". What you mean to say is that you were in a bubble and weren't paying attention to your fellow Americans and their despair. YEARS of being neglected by both parties, the anger and the need for revenge against the system only grew. Along came a TV star they liked whose plan was to destroy both parties and tell them all "You're fired!" Trump's victory is no surprise. He was never a joke. Treating him as one only strengthened him. He is both a creature and a creation of the media and the media will never own that.
    5. You must say this sentence to everyone you meet today: "HILLARY CLINTON WON THE POPULAR VOTE!" The MAJORITY of our fellow Americans preferred Hillary Clinton over Donald Trump. Period. Fact. If you woke up this morning thinking you live in an effed-up country, you don't. The majority of your fellow Americans wanted Hillary, not Trump. The only reason he's president is because of an arcane, insane 18th-century idea called the Electoral College. Until we change that, we'll continue to have presidents we didn't elect and didn't want. You live in a country where a majority of its citizens have said they believe there's climate change, they believe women should be paid the same as men, they want a debt-free college education, they don't want us invading countries, they want a raise in the minimum wage and they want a single-payer true universal health care

system. None of that has changed. We live in a country where the majority agree with the "liberal" position. We just lack the liberal leadership to make that happen (see: #1 above).

Let's try to get this all done by noon today.
    -- Michael Moore

  5. Donald Trump statement on banning Muslims from US has disappeared from his website; The president-elect no longer has the 7 December 2015 statement

By election day morning, the controversial statement had been removed

The page that hosted this speech now redirects to a page call for donations  https://www.donaldjtrump.com/

Videos and speeches defending the ban remain on the Trump campaign website.

I'm not sure I get it here.  90% of the vitriol seems to be coming from the those who support Mr Trump.  I guess the rest of the world can only be happy that he seems to be more of a statesman and a more skillful leader of a nation than his campaign suggested he would be.  Why don't winners and losers stop bitching (or in some cases protesting in the streets because they don't agree with his previous statements) and give the man a bloody chance to see what he does?

    He did win after all.

I think you nailed it when you use the word " vitriol". I think this is what D. Trump projected all along his campaign. And it did work as honey to some of gis core supporters who now sit next to extremist groups  and KKK wtill feeling conformtable.

Yous expect a candidate to project intelligence and charisma , but this is no more effective.

Let's see what kind of a dream team he will constitue to realize his Platform. Let's hope.

  9. Anti-Trump Voices Grow Louder In Scotland After Development Rift

Interesting real case  / electoral Platform

"He promises the earth, delivers nothing," says David Milne, who lives nearby. "As far as that goes, he's in a good position to be a politician. But as far as the real world goes, no, do not trust this man with anything."

Clinton has lost quite a number of votes compared to Obama. Many Democrat supporters abstained (among others Bernie Sanders supporters) or voted for D. Trump.

    GOP votes ( 2016-2012 = - 1.7M)

    - Romney 2012 : 60.933.504

    - Trump  2016 :   59.245.678

    DEM votes ( 2016-2012 = - 6.5M)

    - Obama 2012: 65.915.795

    - Clinton 2016: 59.440.178

    (source  Unites States Elections Project)

Bill Clinton as POTUS  accelerated all financial deregulation begun under Reagan, for example in repealing Glass Steagall Act in 1999 and preparing the subprime crisis that burst in 2007.
Maybe this is the very liberal policy of Bill Clinton who has thwarted the election of Hillary.

"For Whites Sensing Decline, Donald Trump Unleashes Words of Resistance"

" In a country where the wealthiest and most influential citizens are still mostly white, Mr. Trump is voicing the bewilderment and anger of whites who do not feel at all powerful or privileged."

For many Americans, President Obama’s election, made possible in part by the rising strength of nonwhite voters, signaled a transcendent moment in the country’s knotty racial history. But for some whites, the election of the country’s first black president was also a powerful symbol of their declining pre-eminence in American society.

  13. It seems to me that HRC both is an ambitious woman, and is a woman who has ambition.

I do not expect her to just be the first woman elected POTUS. This would only be a guiness book record.

She - at her age - can decide to leave her footprint in America's  history for achieving  something really related to her and it may take some time ( not like building a wall). Simply because if not, she might be the first and only woman POTUS or a while.

To turn the page of a new chapter in History, you must not be the first and only, you have to be the first to break the glass ceiling, and open the door to followers.

So let's see, if she wins.

If he loses, he  still can be elected as mayor of a city like Detroit and show what he really is able to achieve . then ,  4 years later.. who knows ..?
