  1. It is all just a game guys. Business is business.

Emails like this are sent CC everyday from all over Thailand. Go sit at an internet cafe and see. Listen to the calls that come in on the mobile phones at the same time. It is not...how you say....pocket science :o

If you want to respond to them fine, if not fine but a girls gotta do....

If you want to get marry to anyone in the world, anywhere you would check first right?

i believe i read somewhere that Nigeria?? makes a pretty good part of its national income by sending out emails??

  2. I've hardly ever seen more than 2-3 at a time over the years, although everyone swears that the place is swarming with them, but I usually am home before Midnight; Maybe that is why?

G-P i think if you take to riding your motorbike after midnight around there with no gloves, socks or trousers on you could easily tick off twenty one katoeys on your digits.

More than 2 or 3 :D it is more like buy two get three free :o

  3. Duang Tawan.. is that that huge building that's perpetually under construction?? Was open like a couple of months YEARS ago, then back to their usual mode of operation: being under construction. ;-)
    Didn't know it actually opened.

Heard that it and the land that is now fenced off opposite that many moons ago used to be the main Night Bazaar was lost as part of a gambling debt?

The new Consulate Park when it is in operation might perhaps give the Sheraton a run for it's money

Along with the other ....was it 5 or 12 (according to the press) 5* Hotels that are due to be constructed.

Looking forward to thousands of affluent visitors. Should help increase the price of most things. Will any tuk tuks be available other than outside these places :o

  4. I have met this gentleman on a number of occasions over the years (note that I have left out the the pleasure) and whilst his orientation may be the same as many members (i.e. going for boys and I am not talking about underage boys here) it is certainly not aligned with my orientation as I am strictly and solely in tune with the fairer sex.

And yes the choice is mine (to attend or to not attend) but I feel (to attend as he did) is one sure way to to defeat the purpose of remaining anomymous or at least maintaining a degree of anonymity.

At least that way you don't end up with someone dobbing you in to the police or other authorities because of someones perceived and twisted opinion.

And I hasten to add that I don't believe that I would have anything to worry about on that score either.

It's just that I don't particularly enjoy being in the company of so many experts on Thailand and everything Thai.

So thank you for your kind invitation (to attend) which I will decline "leastaways for the time being".

So glad you chose to share that!!! :o

  5. it is simply down to ticking the right box in the UK.

ALWAYS tick the one that says transfer UK Sterling as the rate is way better when exchanged in THailand.

What the bank told the original poster is rubbish and is probably an excuse to cover up a lazy clerk's error.

  6. Hold on a min, so what is being said here is that if my G-f just wanted to visit me for 2 or 3 weeks in England all she would have to do is visit the travel agent, get her ticket and she would be issued a visa at the airport?

    Is this correct??????????

do not think so. ONLY uk embassy can dish out visas. Travel agents may help but there is a Fee at the embassy of 2700 baht to be paid.

Go have a read at their site, sorry lost link:-(

  7. my advice is tell the truth BUT add nothing

Where do you work....in a shop

where did you meet.....in a bar

why do you want to go to UK......to see the sights and visit my fiancees house and meet the folks.

If your GF looks like a BG.....sorry buy you know what i mean one thinks the people at the embassy have seen more than all the members at this forum put together and they know what is what.

Seems from their site that they are interested in A. Who pays to live whilst in UK and B. When the applicant is returning.

Easy to say but worrying will not help.

Be natural and truthful, nicely presented and probably a litt;e humble.

There was a programme on the tv about the UK embassy at it was shocking how some of the boyfriends were behaving.

A visa is a priveledge not a right. As many people in Thailand know.

Post again in 4 days ??

  8. Extremely expensive as you will need to charter a helicopter :o

Nakorn Chai Air run a bus daily that will get you there in about 5-7 hours.

The attendants on the bus look a bit like air hostesses in their pretty uniforms.

Or go to Morchit in BKK and get a bus from there.

  9. This revenue raising exercise is yet another thing that will put tourists off ever coming back here.

You think so?? Why do you think people can come to Thailand , break the law, complain about it then say ..I am not going back there as they apply the law!!

Can i go visit your country with no regard for the law and then complain.

What is the fine for no drivers licence in Western countries these days?????? :o

    CT

  10. For people who come on holiday here it's not so easy. When they rent a bike does anyone tell them that they should carry a licence? Do you honestly expect people having a 2 week vacation to totally familiarize themselves with all the laws of the country they're going to? Would you if you were spending 2 weeks in Spain? Or Greece? The simple fact is this law hasn't been applied for years but is now being exploited as a revenue raising exercise with no safety benefit

Ignorance of the law as a defence???

    What country are you from?

Thought driving licences were pretty common throught the Western World too?

In the US i believe people drive on the right as it is the law? Trying doing that here and see how far you get! The LAW says drive on the left and is quite easy to spot :o

  11. but apart from the odd contribution to the topics it is not for me.

having just read a few of your 'odd' contributions i am forced to the conclusion that you are absolutely correct.....

you staying at home is a good idea :D

    Each to their own :o

PS to all . 95% unlikely to be there as sick. Sorry :D

  12. Think Thai banks will have prohibitive rules unless you have VERY VERY good standing with them.

www.2checkout.com is fine. Set up in minutes and NOT fussy. Hold back a % and can telegraph the money to Thai accounts. Finding the code at the Thai bank will try your patience:-)

paypal will not entertain addresses in Thailand.

If the product to be sold is digital

    www.clickbank.com is popular.

iKobo or ??? was getting some sharp comments at this forum!!

It can be done for sure.

    CT

Worldpay will scare you with the fees and rules for Thai addresses.
