  1. If the money is already taxed in a country with a double taxation agreement then there is no liability so there is no need for a TIN or tax return. Extract from the Thailand Dept of Revenue website: C. Elimination of double taxation The focus of a DTA is the elimination of double taxation. Each DTA may prescribe different methods of elimination of double taxation of a person by the resident country: (1) Exemption method The country of residence does not tax the income which according to the DTA is taxed in the source country. However, if you are a tax resident and bring untaxed money onshore, earn money in Thailand, or have investments in Thailand, you are obliged to obtain a TIN and file a tax return. Any tax you have paid under a DTA can be used as a credit towards your liability here in Thailand.
  2. Disgraceful handling of this horrific affair by the Labour government but the Tories did nothing about it on their watch either.
  3. I get mine delivered from here https://britishop.com/product-tag/pie
  4. I downloaded PDFs but they wouldn't upload so printed them off and took photos which uploaded without any issues
  5. For the annual extension, my office (Nakhon Sawan) asks for my embassy/MFA certified translation of my UK marriage certificate. I had our marriage certificate legalised, translated, and then approved by the UK Embassy, so it wasn't a problem for me. We also have kor sor 22 which they were quite happy with 4 years ago but for the last 3 years they wanted a copy of the UK translated certificate as well. I had to return to the UK at short notice last year and couldn't renew my extension and had to obtain a new non O. I just used the kor sor 22 but your extension may be a different matter.
  6. You can buy a cheap plastic machine that helps to divide the pill accurately. I used to use one when I was on statins and I could buy 20mg for just a few baht more than 10mg. I wouldn't fancy cutting a pill in quarters tho'
  7. I've been using them for quite some time, and they seem legit. If you are in Bangkok, you can go to their shop.
  8. That is their considered opinion but I will wait for the official announcement. As tax advisors, they have a vested interest in everyone getting involved with the Thai tax system. This would require cooperation from ALL credit card issuers worldwide and thus make it almost impossible to police
  9. Those quotes refer to two different Irishmen. Ryan who is on life support and the other guy who was found dead in Koh Tao
  10. There is an old thread on here about obtaining a yellow book with a post from a man and his Thai girlfriend going to get his yellow book. They told him he had to be married but his GF rang the ombudsman in Bangkok and they said he did not need to be married. The ombudsman rang his local office and he was duly issued a yellow book. The number to call was in his post. I went to inquire what was needed to get a yellow book and I was told I needed to be married but I didn't bother arguing as I am married.
  11. I thought it was Nakhon Sawan? My wife will be thrilled at that comment 🤣
  12. They've come along way since your operation. They now have trifocal lenses but they cost a fortune https://www.brightviewcenter.com/products-and-services/trifocal-artificial-lens/
  13. I had a confrontation with my wife of 15 years. I had to point out that we are either in a Western-style relationship or Thai. She always wants to cherry-pick the rules
  14. If you did that transfer with Wise today you would receive 64,491.52
  15. You can fund your Wise transfer by using a debit card straight to your Thai bank or you can fund the transfer directly from your home bank account. The fees for transferring directly from your bank account are less than using your debit card.
  16. Any insurance would be null and void if he's not wearing a crash helmet
  17. Here in Nakhonsawan, the applications are sent to Chiang Mai for approval. In 2023, a 60-day period was 'under consideration' because they were so busy. Last year, it was back to 30 days. I am happy to report that in the 5 years I've been using this office they have been polite and helpful and I've never experienced or heard of any corruption. An elderly neighbour of mine fell while he was in the office so the head IO (female) told his wife he doesn't need to attend anymore as his wife can do it. When he died the IO attended his funeral. She told me that we are all her customers and she wouldn't have a job without us. I wish all the offices operated like this.
  18. You do not have to show the equivalent of 400,000 baht. I obtained a Non O visa based on marriage last May and I only had £1000 in my UK bank
  19. It took an extraordinary amount of time for these charges to be made. Why?
  20. I have the same symptoms as the OP but I don't have PAD. I was tested 4 years ago. I have peripheral neuropathy. I was also tested for diabetes and sciatica. I am going to Bangkok soon to have my Vit B1 tested as I've read this can cause my symptoms. So self-diagnosis is never a good thing.
  21. It is not a deflection at all. Your statement that Hamas has survived against the odds is true but only because they hide behind schools and hospitals. The truth can never be described as pathetic but it does sometimes hurt, so keep sucking on your dummy.
  22. RIP your friends and family. I don't know anyone who died from Covid but my mother died after getting the experimental mRNA Moderna bivalent vaccine. She suffered a blood clot, stroke and severe brain bleed 12 hours after the jab. She was otherwise in very good health and had just passed a fit-for-surgery health check for a knee replacement.
  23. Honda Insurance quoted me 20k but I got almost the same cover with Rooja for 9000. My wife didn't believe it and insisted on speaking with Rooja who confirmed I was correct. She was redfaced as she had just paid some stupid premium with BMW
