Which is why I used phrases like "I think" and "maybe" - I wasn't PRETENDING to be an expert as I stated VERY CLEARLY -
Will a Thai Will confilct with International Will?
nglodnig replied to CrossBones's topic in Insurance in Thailand
I'm no expert (see a lawyer in the UK and Thailand!) FIRST - get your father to make a Thai will. I think Thai law if intestate assets automatically go to the children. We (my Thai wife and I) have both UK and TH - the Thai one cost us I think 5000 baht. I THINK (don't quote me) the UK one covers UK assets, and the Thai one - Thai assets. Get the THB 800k to be assigned to his children. Show it to the bank when the inevitable happens. You would need to two seperate executors one for each will, in the respective countries, AFAIK. But don't take my word for it consult lawyers and don't rely on the advice you might see on this forum (including mine). -
Getting hacked is like catching the clap - you only catch it when you don't use precautions and go to the "wrong" places (he said smugly then gets hacked the next day ???? )

Why People Find It Titillating to Roast and Be Roasted?
nglodnig replied to GammaGlobulin's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I second the motion! The worst thing is the twice daily news letter doesn't tag his posts with "Warning drivel alert" so I click on them by mistake. I think there should be a Health Warning in the title -
Good luck finding the (non-existent) fan.... ????

Good idea - post your query on a website where there is a team of medical experts online who can diagnose you instantly and give you the correct advice. GO TO A DOCTOR (Sheryl excepted of course ???? )

Being devils advocate here, what Barclays and other banks are saying is they don't want NON-residents. I don't really care what you are doing but having a correspondence address (i.e. a post box effectively) is NOT the same as being resident. If you are asked to prove it (which you probably won't) you would need things like utility bills in your name.

How Much Time Screen Time a Day is Unhealthy?
nglodnig replied to Neeranam's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
They'd better take me away now then. Practically all my waking moments (EXCEPT when I am travelling e.g. driving, train journey or walking) I am stuck in front of a screen, for work and for leisure. I still have my marbles. -
Update on my story if anybody is interested - Barclays are cancelling me in November (although interestingly if I can't get things sorted out by then the apologist crony from them said I could keep the account open for a few MONTHS (not years) longer) so I've been searching other LEGIT (i.e. not using fake UK addresses which is FRAUD chaps) means. I registered with WISE but am uniimpressed. They don't FEEL like a bank I tried all the other "big four" (as they used to be) banks international offering and found them much of a muchness - gives us a hundred grand, stick in the account and don't touch it. Yeah right effectively paying this amount for the privilege of a bank account. Except one - Lloyds need an income to start with of 50k GBP a year OR deposit 25k (which I think you can take it after a "certain period"). After that, so long as you pay them GBP7.50 a month there are no other income requirements. As I haven't retired yet I can qualify. Joining was a bit of a long-drawn out process but I have FINALLY got it working, Internet banking and all.

It would be a great short-cut to the airport from the Doi Suthep road to the Airport and then the 108. Which is why people use it.

That figure is disputed - only the NY Times (not a friend of donny boy) reports this. Twenty million isn't peanuts. -
