  1. I just got a non-O visa - filled out the form but got it sent back saying "where is the medical insurance certificate" which I was NOT asked for. I HAVE Thai med ins for which I had already asked for a cpy so sent that. Nothing happened for about a week and so I pinged the embassy (Bern) asking what was happening and surprise surprise I got the APPROVED doc back an hour later.
  2. Oh, the poor wee lamb...
  3. As someone pointed out the Gulf of Siam/Thailand is only 85 metres deep AT MOST (average 45 metre) so a submarine here would be pointless. Send it over to the Adaman Sea so they can torpedo refugee boats maybe?
  4. Seems to be various devices avaiable but I doubt their accuracy - BP monitors work by applying pressure and releasing it and these things don't seem to do so, just "estimates" it.
  5. Is that a month or a year? OP was talking about renting, methinks.....
  6. No, he obviously has serious problems but I'm sure his friends will look after him. Oh, wait, a putz like him will have no friends. OK, RIP GG
  7. Just a thought - why dont you just SHUT THE FORK UP?
  8. Must memorize those rules. Have they got in PDF format?
  9. Remember, frigates aren't supposed to go UNDER the water.
  10. We looked into gate motors but the big turn-off was if there's a power failure the gate won't open (at least not easily). Any ideas?
  11. I find the ganja I have sampled here is high in THC but low in CBD. Here in Switzerland I can smoke CBD (but not THC) quite legally and am just stripping a (legal) plant of its' buds and the (high) CBD-only is quite pleasant thankyou. VERY mellow. yeah, man... mellow. My point is that the high-THC low-CBD will not give you the mellow feeling that helps sleep. Try and get some high-CBD stuff.
  12. I wish you all a good nights sleep.
  13. Each to his own - whatever works for you. I do that some days.
  14. I'm a bit of expert on sleep as I do so much of it - REM dream sleep occurs after an hour light sleep followed by deep sleep than you get the dreams - it's a three-four hour cycle
  15. By which I mean, I am experiencing bi-phasic sleep. I sleep for four hours, wake up, do stuff for 2-3 hours and go back to sleep again for another four hours. So far doesn't seem to be a problem. Apparently this was the NORM before electric light - people would go to bed when it was dark, wake up, potter about doing stuff for a couple of hours (guided by candle-light I assume) and then go back to sleep until dawn. Who's to say this isn't a better sleep pattern - we did it for hundreds/thousands of years?
  16. Update: my account was going to be closed next month with Barclays but I neogtiated a "stay of execution" until next April. Reason: I have a (small) pension now with Reassure, who take TWO MONTHS to send me a letter (because they can't use email, they're still using quill and parchment ????, the telephone is still a novel instrument for them ) which ironically originally was a pension from Barclays Life. This pays out every year February/March time. So my account (still to be confirmed) will not close until April next year. They are polling customers about to be "shut down" I suggest if you need to use the same approach.
  17. I would imsgine someone turning up with an Israeli passport will not get a hard time at Immigration.
  18. Any idea what the burgers and bbq'd ribs are like? ????
  19. So when I land in Bangkok do I just go straight to immigration or do I need to stop first at some counter? You should be good to go. Just go striaght to immigration. Thirty days visa which can be extended by another thirty days when you go to the immigration office (before it expires)
  20. Nationality? What about visa-exempt (30 days)? Why visa on arrival?
  21. What scheduling software do you use? Google Calendar, Outlook? Or is it just Miss Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday?
  22. You're 63 and being serviced by four different ladies a week? What's your secret champ?
  23. Our house in Thailand is in a gated compund so no worries there (he said hopefully) plus the housekeeper comes once a week to check (so she says ???? ) I've got a couple of timeswitches plugged into table lumps that come on during the evening in Europe. Heating I set to low to prevent freezing but otherwise leave it on (switching off all TV, computer, internet etc devices of course)
  24. Is there anyway we can shut up this drivel?
