  1. Ah..Quaker oats. I was in an avant-garde garden punk band. We were so terrible it pains me to think of it even now. Later I played triangle in a reggae band but left because of constant arguments. Just one ting after another. ( The second bit it not true bad added to pad out the post )
  2. I just completed this quiz. My Score 50/100 My Time 145 seconds
  3. In a worst case scenario where no suitable temporary fix is possible , the OP could go to a neighboring country , obtain a new Non O for 90 days , then when this runs out extend in country for another 60 days ( visiting wife ) . This would give a total of 5 months. This should be enough time to open a new bank account elsewhere.
  4. Only the men are escaping. The braver women have all stayed behind and are fighting like banshees to protect their country and home.
  5. I just completed this quiz. My Score 50/100 My Time 84 seconds
  6. I hope he puts the band together when he gets out.
  7. True. However, I am in the UK now on a visit and what I am seeing a lot of everywhere is the English flag tied to lamp posts and hanging out of people's windows. Taking the U3 bus through estates with a high migrant presence , this surprised me. No attempt by anyone to remove the flags or have a counter flag campaign My friends tell me this is common now in urban places. Once you get out into the countryside , there are no more flags. So, few street protests but a lot of passive protest. Talking to people the gist of the issue is not one of race or religion but rather an objection to an increasing number of opportunistic freeloaders and bludgers. As someone said, if it is so dangerous where these people are fleeing from how come the women aren't fleeing too in equal numbers as the men? Once out in the country though , it is not a burning issue and It seems to be the case that out of sight us out of mind.
  8. At the airport now. If you have completed online check in you STILL have to check in at a check in counter , both Thai and other nationalities. Only advantage is that there is a dedicated queue for those that have checked in online which is much shorter than the queue for those that haven't. Saves 10 minutes or so. My wife was worried that her carry on luggage was a bit overweight but they will cut you some slack for this minor infringe.
  9. Yes. Through to London. To be sure I will follow Middle Aged Grouches suggestion. Didn't know they had a dedicated information desk. Very useful as probably no queue.
  10. More hubs than you can shake a stick at.
  11. Yes....we will see. It actually says boarding pass at the top of the printout for both myself and my wife. On the online app it also says for both of us ' already checked in ' I went down the online check in road just in case we were late arriving at the airport. I prefer the check in counters since the staff can both check our passports and our carry on luggage . ( they are withing the official limits in size and weight ) We'll see how the time goes on Wednesday morning. The print out looks like this
  12. Yes, as far as I know API is required if the passenger has no visa. Where a passenger has a current valid visa it is not required. Well...will get to airport with time in hand and as you day , if there is an issue, they can sort it at the gate. If I see there is no long queue at the check in counters I will quickly double check with them. Thanks
  13. Apologies if this is obvious to frequent fliers but I have just done an online check in for the first time for our Emirates flight to London. I think we can now proceed straight to security check then immigration. However , the internet points out that we might still need to go to a check in counter to check that my wifes visa is ok for her to fly. Anyone have experience of this ? Don't want to get half way through then sent back. Thanks in advance.
  14. I take half a capsule about twice a month ( or as needed ) just for the blood pressure effect. I notice that amlodipine makes no visible difference to my blood pressure. Prenolol makes a big difference but has been discredited as although apparently effective studies showed that it did not impact on mortality rates. The low dose I take of Cialis makes a visible difference ( on BP monitor ) and the effect seems to last for a few days. I don't like taking a whole capsule since it gives me hot flushes and makes my face look red plus excessive use seems to lessen the effect on my blood pressure.
  15. Only know of this one. Probably not the same .
  16. You need a couple of keen scrubbers. Should be very easy to find in Pattaya
  17. Oh well. The messiah walked on water. Trump hasn't mastered that so he floats on BS instead Horrible little man and a complete idiot. As for his chosen acolytes , just shamelessly chasing the greenback.
  18. I think we all know now that the global river of commerce has just been damned. Upstream is a big lake and downstream there will just be a few stagnant puddles. Trump has thrown a stone into the water. The ripple effect won't be long in coming. Many small businesses will go out of business both those exporting to the US and smaller American companies who import from overseas for resale.
  19. Probably just a Swiss tourist patriot on a bender. Saw the locals doing it and wanted to join in
  20. Coolest I ever owned was this one I got for christmas when I was 6 years old. Spent all day shooting up grannies, uncle's aunts and pets.
  21. I'll stay in bed until the afternoon then
  22. Unfortunately even letters are not currently being accepted. I have tried 3 times in the last three days at three different post offices and they can not accept them at the moment. I pointed out it was just a letter with nothing else but still no. The only way you can currently send anything is by their courier service which costs a few thousand baht. I did not wait to have the detail about that explained to me since no way would I pay that much. It really is a cluster f**k at the moment and there does not appear to be a quick fix in sight. Interesting article in reuters about it. https://www.reuters.com/business/end-us-low-value-package-tariff-exemption-is-permanent-trump-officials-say-2025-08-29/
