  1. By the way, thinking of doing mugen stickers in my bike. Know a good car sticker shop. Of course i will not place mugen writing on it. Just the black stickers. Also will keep the part on lower side of the side fairing thinner not that wide. Dont want to cover that nice curve on the lower side. What do you say guys?

I always liked the classic Honda red/black scheme

But if I were doing it I would show the guy at the wrap shop pictures of the classic scheme

like Joey Dunlop use to have at IOM & John McGuiness used this year in tribute

    to him.

Mugen of course has their own interpretation of it & cannot copy exact...but you can wink.png

  2. That Blue Kraft is the Alias No Limits guy

I was impressed when I saw the Alias & this looks ok too quality wise.

But I am not a fan of the blue metal look myself.

The only thing is I do not understand why he is switching

or starting another brand & both promise the 500 header "later"

Could be nothing but good to be aware of

  3. I have been here a decade and have never heard of this - yes, I have a DL and a Car and register it every year.

You mean you never heard about the notary services at the US Consulate?

I have used them 3 or 4 times.

Only because it is easy & quick + sure thing & the certificate is non expiring.

The one from Immigration has to be used by a certain time.

Which usually should not be a problem but last year I was reserving a new Ninja

& did not know when the finalized date would be that I needed it.

But I think most like you just use the immigration & also it is quite a bit cheaper

One third the price if you pay Imm 500 baht

  4. Sorry slow response as I was up country with no internet.

LL...I had to look Lakh up as I have never heard it or been to India

I agree with most here that it is a tough call in many ways.

Mainly the tax for being a larger bike would bite & I do not see

how they could keep the price under the Honda 500 now

Unless it is a direct replacement deal but I dont see how & it would piss off current owners

of the 250 as they would see resale value drop

I have been noticing many parts houses now selling top ends for the 300

but it would cost 30k baht & I am not sure if I added in the crank on that or if it is even needed.

Have not looked at the exact way they increased the stroke 7.8mm

I do believe cases etc are all the same & the slipper clutch is not a have to have

But that may be an option for folks at some point to mod their 250's if they were inclined that way

I think the main chatter now on the Thai websites is based in folks wondering if they should buy or wait now.

I did write Kawasaki Thailand in December 2012 asking if & when they would release a 300 here

At the time they told me no less than 2 year model 2013-2014 but of course that does not mean anything wink.png

  5. Lots of chatter on the Thai ninja sites claiming for 2014 Ninja 300 will be sold here.

But it was also said in April it will be released in India for 2014 at a price of 4 lakh

which I believe is 400k rupees or equal to 210,000 baht.

Do bikes in India usually sell for less or more than Thailand?

    http://indiatoday.intoday.in/story/kawasaki-ninja-300-launch-in-india-on-april-10/1/260882.html

I'm not sure how they could sell at that price here as it is getting too close to

    bigger bikes prices.

    We Will See rolleyes.gif

  6. US Consulate always does but yes you need an appointment for everything there now

But it is easy & done online.
Usually for the next day & they send you a confirmation email immediately

    Appointment info
    http://chiangmai.usconsulate.gov/service/appointments.html

Service is listed under their Notary services
    http://chiangmai.usconsulate.gov/service/notarial.html

Affidavit for Vehicle Issues ("Residence Verification").
To get a driver’s license, buy a vehicle, sell a vehicle,
or register a vehicle, the Thai Department of Land Transportation
might ask you get a document from us to “verify” your residence in Thailand.
In fact, we are not empowered to do this.
Instead, you may execute an affidavit in which you swear under oath or affirm your monthly local address.
Use the Affidavit for Vehicle Issues (PDF, 35.0 KB). Fill in all of the blanks above the signature line, but do not sign it.
  7. PS: You know one other thing LL is

they all, Area P, Power Commander, Two brother Juice Box Pro etc...

They are all made by the same company.

But after that is the differences.

Like PC has all kinds of add-ons etc

2 Brothers & PC post their maps & share them with anyone

Area P working with Fuel Moto do not as they put a lot of work into it.

But for Thailand especially if you were going to re-sell later the bike or box

I think most would be more comfortable with Power Commander as it is sold here & they

basically know how to use it.

For my type of riding I am not so concerned with ultimate horsepower

because truth is for my type of riding I cannot use all that is there now really.

But what I want/like is a certain power delivery/throttle response.

One thing that really caught my eye before I started talking with Kerry at Area P

is that they partnered with Fuel Moto & they do a map for what you have period.

They will work with you & have a 2 year warranty

Also they have Off Site Tuning

You allow them access to your computer & they make real time adjustments to your maps

depending on what your telling them is going on.

Or if you can describe well what is happening etc they

will develop a map & email it to you to pop into your FI controller via USB

Also with the small ninja with their controller they make power all the way to the soft limiter @ 12,500rpm

The stock bike stops making power @ 10,750 rpm which is a shame as there is much more there even stock.

  8. 40 hp for a 300 cc engine is cool!

mania is area p chip around the same price as pc5?

    i am hopeful cbr500 might reach 50 rwhp with full system pipe, pc5, and a better flowing air filter - 20 k for pipe, 15 k for pc5 and 5 k for air filter totally 40 k - 45 k thb.

and with a weight reduction of 4 - 5 kg on top of extra power, it can be a much more better bike.smile.png

I think it is a little cheaper at $250 in the US

$55 shipping to Thailand so about 10-11k baht equivalent

Problem is they do not do the 500 Honda's yet sad.png

When they did the 300 they came on the forum & got a guy to leave his bike with them

a couple weeks for development. Then they gave him a new system + full exhaust & some other things

    Lucky guy

I would tend to think 50hp should be possible with the Honda in any case.

I was disappointed they ( RLR Racing ) never got the bike ready in time for John McGuiness to use

at Isle Of Man this year as I was looking forward to see what they would do to a

CBR500 + with John on-board you know it was going to have as good a run as possible.

  9. Almost should start a 2013 Ninja 250 mods thread but I dont think there are

many here who ride them except Macknife & I

I know a couple others like JonnyF also have a 250 though.

So will just use this older thread

I found a place in Bangkok called ego-racing

selling Hotbodies Dual Radius GP Windscreens

so tried one. Nice quality nice shape.

A little better protection but not much.

I only ever saw one other I liked but not for sale here

& that is the Zero Gravity Coras GP I think that one has a little better

    tuck protection.

    Will take actual pics later.

I have only phone pics now & poor quality

Here are some on their website

    http://www.ego-racing.com/product/1047202/%E0%B8%8A%E0%B8%B4%E0%B8%A7%20Ninja250R%2008-13.html

  10. mania i think for your case, you have a good connection at area p.

did you order yours? and 40 rwhp is for ninja 300 right?

Yes ordered already & yes that 40 hp is the 300 results as that is what they have in USA

  11. Opinions on taste of foods is a personal thing
I do not know why it is hard for some to understand not all folks like the same
    tastes,styles etc.

I once said this was the best pizza "I" have had in CM
That is valid to "me" others of course may love it or hate it.
But all this other stuff is hard to understand.

Would be nice if folks could like something without being attacked.
Or others did not feel the need to tout a degree in cooking as a reason why they know best
what is the best for one & all.

I like it or I don't is all anyone can really say or needs to be said.

  12. It is bad... comparing to some civilized countries. :-D

Sent from my GT-I9100 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

Still the total cost of ownership is lower here then in the west.

You know I agree on the smaller bikes or Thai built larger

but all the imports at double price from US I am not too sure.

  13. Everybody is always complaining in Thailand about the high price of vehicles here, seems its not so bad after all......

Yes I feel a bit better by comparison I guess smile.png

I was recently whining about prices here & a guy from Denmark told me this...

You should try living in Denmark:

    R1 = $47,780

    S 1000 RR = $49,922

    1199 Panigale S = $83,314

    ER-6f ABS = $20,527

    Ninja 300 ABS = $11,501

  14. I was posting this because he didn't know what it was but his description corresponds very closely to the ricotta. Also, it's fat free. ANd I beieve that somewhere in this thread there is a mention that the maker of the cheese was located in Hua Hin (I"m not going to look for it).

Thanks I was just curious as I had one of those pizza's & the cheese

was not as rich as the original mozzarella but still had a stretchiness to it.

I never had ricotta that stretched.

Not important as I said I was just curious as if it was ricotta I have never tasted

    one like it.

  15. I don't know & live in a condo myself sad.png

But this place may be able to help you

    http://www.riderscorner.net/

While not the place to do the work they would surely know.

Also I bet they would be very interested in your trip.

While it is also a restaurant they also sell some things

This is also the place with the GT maps etc.

I always see BMW's there & they all look like heavy touring type riders.

Have been meaning to stop in myself.

  16. I have also noticed some places I frequent

will charge a couple of points even if your using a BKB Debit card.

Not a charge card mind you a debit card.

I know credit cards do charge the merchant a percentage fee but I don't think

banks charge any fees for debits anymore than they did for accepting personal

checks in the US. Could be wrong but I was surprised to hear it.
