Dear Aunty.
I keep having the same fantasy about fitting this swingarm to my bike.
Trouble is I have a CBR250R and a friend keeps telling me it's just too perverse.
Is it a match or should I just stop dreaming?
My dear niece
I believe all things are possible

Wanted to resurrect this old thread as I was wondering if anyone
bought the Sony HDR-AS10?
If so what do you think of it?
Thanks for any feedback

Nice bike you have there congrats !
Take care & hope you have many enjoyable rides.
It is amazing to me the nice looking forks they have on those bikes given the price.
Even if the springs etc inside were not great they could be changed.
But the legs look good & beefy for that price range.
Very nice Congrats & Enjoy !

There was a falang outside Big C HomePro Hang Dong selling what looked like the same stuff.
Was a few months back & he wore a mouth mask
Nice guy said hi etc. But I remember thinking I wonder how he is doing that stand.
-
Agreed, rake & trail + power & weight all have a reaction & some bikesOn some bikes they're necessary-
are just more planted depending on geometry
If your reading forums of 1400 owners & they are not using them then probably fine without.
-
I would think so too.A steering damper is necessary for a Z 1000 I feel.
Especially when you are gunning it away from the lights and the front end is very light all the way to 120 clicks and beyond
Also the roads here are not the best.
High power = light front exiting turns + bad pave = chatter & we know what comes next.
I think that is why we see so many tank slappers on IOM
They are dealing with real world roads not smooth track.

Looks aside I guess just depends on bike & how you ride.$400 is about right from MotoMummy.com- dampers look cool, and I thought about getting one, but it will block the steering stem on my bike and that's where I'm gonna mount my GPS.
I can say I only had a bike or two that needed it. An older 900RR
that I had modded a bit definitely needed it if pulling hard out of corners
with the front getting light if I hit a bump or rough patch it would start the oscillations
which only need be felt once to put the fear of a full blown tank slapper in you
PS: side note...The best ever tank slappers can always be seen on some of the IOM TT videos

Not meI just love the look of the F much much more (extremely superficial I know.)
I know people will say I should go for practical over looks but every time I returned to look at the bikes and sit on them I simply liked the F much more.
I say buy the bike that stirs your passion
At the end of the day the three 500's are very similar & if that F
lights your fire then that is your bike

When you buy you will be charged a small amount for registration & what they call government insurance or porabol
( roughly pronounced )
That is just a basic no fault liability only type insurance. Mandatory & runs about 1600 for that with the registration
For at least your first year or two you will probably? want 1st class insurance which is comprehensive & includes theft
That will probably run you about 10k a year ( perhaps another Honda 500 owner will chime in with a exact price )
Petrol I believe colors don't count as different station brands use different colors.
Basically your choices are Gasohol 91 or 95
I believe they run no problem on 91 but always use 95 myself in both my N250 & Wave 125i no problems
Oil changes up to you but definitely at 1000km or sooner if you like.
Oil any good brand & some will steer you towards synthetic right away while others prefer to let
the bike break in for a good 3000km first then switch to synthetic if you like the qualities of synthetic.
Since CM has a Big Wing & the bike is new under warranty if I were you I would stick with them for servicing
Enjoy your new ride & post some pictures & your impressions when you get a chance.
Good Luck

Did you get a good price? There was a group buy on the z1000 forum otherwise i might not have went for it.
Those that I have seen are kind of pricey for what they are I think I saw 17k baht?
-
Ah thanks for the heads up though.I was there in the other day and found out the they still keep the 'new recipe' mozzarella around. So I order my pizza as an original cheese topping.
The pizza crust is good and chewy with flavor. The tiramitsu was not too bad. But she said if any customer request the healthy option they will be ready to do so.
Yeah I am usually too stuffed for desert but we did try that Tiramisu once & it was very good.
But I just dont have the room after a pizza & salad between my wife & I

I am betting a Z1000 could use a steering damper too
Can't say I really understand all the 250's I see with them though

This type of question is always tough as it always depends a bitWhat is the top speed on one of these Kawa 250's? What would you say is a
comfortable cruizing speed on a long straight away like the last section on the motorway #7 coming into Pattaya? TIA
Top speed would be somewhere not far above 160 I believe maybe 170-ish?
If piped & filter changed. Stock maybe but it is not what I call rapid to reach that speed stock.
Of course some will say higher but when I say top I mean wind up thru the gears
on a basically flat road & what you will hit soon after winding out 5th & grabbing top gear.
Not 5 minutes later
I have been a bit over 160 when I had a pipe on it & did not need any run to get it.
It went right thru 160 while winding up 5th & clicking into 6th. At that point I had to let off due to cars
Now without the pipe 160 is not as easy/quick a reach but still doable.
What I am saying is stock is this & modified has potential still
Cruising long straight roads is not really my thing.
Where I live we are lucky to have many interesting twisty mountain roads.
I don't know the road your describing but sounds like a flat highway?
But sometimes I do go for a longish mountain ride with the wife on the back... like Chiang Mai to Phayao
About 150km each way
We cruise easily in the 120-135kph range on those much bigger but still sweeping roads
& of course slower in the tighter twisty sections
Pretty decent for a 250 & that is the two of us on there
So for me that is what I would call comfortable as you say. I think many folks tend to claim max which is not the same.
If your like me & like tight twisty places to ride this type of bike is fine.
I do not really think a big bike can do much better on the rides I do.
After all max speeds in places like Samoeng Loop is not that high at all for 99%
Of the ride. I doubt you break 120-130kph on this road
For this type of ride I really prefer this type of bike actually
Flickable & fun + cheap to run.
But if the area you ride is those Pattaya highways I have seen videos
of where guys are getting 200kph I would opt for a bigger bike.
Just my opinion.

I saw this Ducati the other day getting a tune up & the owner drove off after.
Love that dry clutch rattle at idle & how it smooths out into a deep
roar as he accelerated away.
But definitely no plates or book on this one.
Funny thing is I am 99.9% sure this is the same guy I see with a nice Street Fighter too that
is fully registered
As others have said there are lots & lots of these bikes around.
Good luck to the owners & wish them well but I could never lay out a couple hundred baht with just the hope
that things will be ok for not getting it impounded. But really the bigger worry is can they be insured?
What would happen in an accident I wonder? Thing like that in this country where I do not feel
I have equal rights to begin with make it a non starter for me.
Track Bikes no problem though & some good deals to be had for that I guess.

I'm really important, and I still won't own a bike without a green book.

There was a 2006 cbr600 in CM with green book listed on baht & sold a few days ago. Pics looked good and good price too.
I wonder if that was the Blue & Yellow 06 Tums has been trying to sell for awhile now?
If it was 289K then yes
Here is another 06 cbr600rr in Korat for 220k

Here is another modded Z250
Seems they get the kit from Indonesia for about 30k baht
Too bad he did not set the exhaust out the left
like they did on this older Ninja

These guys have been popping up on some forums I read
Dont know them or their work but seem to have a large selection

Some folks say yes & some no about switching back & forthNext oil change would it matter if I filled it with non synthetic oil?
As far as I know there is no harm in going back but..
There is really no point as the breaking in is surely done now.
But you know, don't get worried about all this as it is just preferences &
the differences are surely not that big a deal to pleasure riders like us.
It is just different lines of thought that folks have about the whole break in process.
But really don't lose sleep over it now. Stick with what you have & forget it.
Enjoy the bike

Wow I am a bit surprised buy that 12000 km oil changes.
This is not synthetic oil is it?
There was one other I suppose at 1000km so basically 11,000KM/6835 miles since last change
Folks can follow the Honda recommend I'm sure as they designed it.
But I tend to go 3200KM/2000 miles on my bikes & change. Old habits I guess.
I put the synthetic oil at 1k service by Honda's recommendation. I know some people like to wait abit longer before they do that. I dont know but I just thought I want the engine to have some good oil inside that machinery.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app
This is just my opinion but they were wrong to steer you into synthetic at such an early mileage
It is not that Synthetic is better but it has its purpose.
That purpose does not agree with being used in an engine that has not been bedded in yet.
You will not see any harm from such an early change but you may loose some benefits of a stronger running engine
achieved by proper seating/sealing of all parts before switching to synthetic oil.
Again just my opinion

Woo Hoo !

You know hindsight?![;)](//forum.thaivisa.com/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png)
I really wish that Devil was not so dang loud
Yesterday was riding Samoeng Loop & had a place on the highway coming back that I had
wound up that Devil pipe before & can see now it did make quite a large clear difference.
The midrange was much stronger pulling & top end was quick to reach too.
Not a slight difference either but a pretty dang large one.
heheheh ahhhhhhh hindsight but it was waaaay loud
On the good side it did show what potential is there to be had.
Will look around & see what comes available at what db's
But unrestricted exhausts which give good power gains is usually like that Devil
Good name for that pipe
Also I have been having a talk with Kerry the president/owner of Area P No Limits in the USA.
We have been talking about his FI controller & he said should I decide to get one he would take a personal
interest in working with me on some maps as they have no Ninja 250 for 2013 in the USA being all 300's
So that is a tempting offer too.
