  1. If you go to a full system, unless you do some tuning and block off the PAIR valve, you'll very likely have some deceleration pop no matter which brand you purchase- if you're just getting slip-ons it shouldn't be an issue.

The exhaust I'm having installed this week comes with the PAIR valve block-off kit, and I'll be doing some FI tuning as well- even with that, I still expect some issues until I get the ECU flashed- even though its a different bike from yours, you'll probably still have to do some tuning as well when you swap your header- it's a byproduct of the increased air-flow of a freer-breathing system.

Yep that is the truth of it & to tell you the truth I liked it better in many ways when it was jetting changes instead of ecu related laugh.png

At least it was easier to do yourself & cheaper.

I have heard a bit about the block offs & seen pictures but have not

    used any

I recently changed my pipe & air filter on my N250 & of course have the deceleration backfires

Although not as bad as initial run I will be dealing with it & probably need to grab a bazazz or PCV

So the block offs help a lot do they? I wonder if someone has done any on the new FI Ninja 250's?

  2. Yeah the rain made it very exciting.

I initially thought Marc was done & could not handle the rain/wet but he proved me wrong & clawed his way all

    the way back.

The Ducati of Dovizioso impressed me in Qualifying & then all thru the race so did Hayden really

especially not plowing into Rossi when Rossi went down.

Then of course Pedrosa was very good even after his early off track excursion

Crutchlow? Awesome & glad he has some bargaining power to help in in his time of need.

Although I am sure he was glad the race ended as Marc was on a mission

I felt bad for Dovi & thought maybe he could hold onto that 3rd

Very good racing I loved it !! ;)

  3. Are you sure about this?

    Yes I think I am wink.png

Imagine you have a wheel say it is what ever diameter....17" for instance

From a starting line/point ...Imagine it makes one revolution...it has traveled x amount of inches

Imagine X amount of those revolutions per minute it has traveled x amount of inches per minute/ per hour etc.

That is the beginning basics now you need to visualize all the ratios of various gear configurations wink.png

Your idea about a higher revving 150 vs a 500 only makes sense if they both are turning the same gear ratios.....They are not

The charts are correct...Or will be if you input the proper info of what your running.

It is math plain & simple wink.png.....well ok maybe not simple at times lol

  4. Does it works that way? What about the difference in hp and torque?

Sent from my GT-N7100 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

When your looking at gearing you are looking at distance traveled in what is called gear inches

That is arrived at by gear inches & wheel diameter

The distance is termed by a revolution so rpm is what is needed to be known not hp or torque

PS: Very good help section on that site

Go click help > Help on using GC > Enter Manually

Or click resulting speed etc for explanations

    Or Gearing Basics etc.

PSS: Remember this kind of thing os all theoretical too

meaning you will have wind / drag etc which will make each persons situation different

But it is a good guideline to see " Theoretical" speeds etc.

  5. LL I really think that is the bikes capability....Here is a theoretical calculator for you to play with....

Now my friends er6 maxed out at 220 in top gear without hitting redline and he has quite a few mods....pipe, sprockets etc!!!

    http://www.gearingcommander.com/

    I always liked that site

It is cool to look at the various gearing configurations & their effects all else being equal

Nice site mania! But at the moment they don't have the charts for our cbr500R bike.

Sent from my GT-N7100 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

Load the Honda CBR250 & then I guess you need your primary ratio which I guess you have it in your manuals?

    Then

Just load your sprocket sizes ( also not online for Honda??? )& rpm range & change tire sizes all in the custom or current section

Then save as your personal profile & it will save as a cookie on your computer

  7. The so called white carbon vinyl sticker hasn't worked so will try and find a whiter one hehe.

heheh mai bpen rai but yeah it is kind of an eggshell white isn't it?

No worries just go straight white wrap ? ..I think it will look cool & you can always add

    some brand stickers you support

Strange things going on with Cal, when he seems to be doing so good. blink.png

    I know !

I kind of hope he pulls a great race out there in France

Maybe that would give him some bargaining powers

Does seem weird for them to be screwing with him but I also do not know the history

of him not signing for 2 years before .

  9. these guys, the non-riders who buy new imported bikes, are OUR best friends in LoS. They pay full retail, all taxes, add expensive bits, ride em once, park em, change their underwear, then sell em! All we have to do is wash off the seat.

We had the same thing in San Francisco with the DotCom yuppies in late '90s - early '00s: i was not alone in snagging a basically new Ducati for a song from one of these dweebs. Bike had 1600 miles on it!

Well that is what I was hoping when I saw these sites with all these low miles bikes for sale.

But that Financing deal is the killer because they do not drop the interest for prepayment in full.

So the used bikes owned by the finance companies are usually higher priced than new out the door bikes.

Yet they sell because the next Thai lines up & takes over payments & has enough side money to pay off the previous

    debt jockey's small deposit request

  10. so the only way i can get it legal again is to find out who the owner is and track them down?

    is that correct?

any idea how i could go about that? could i talk to the traffic office here and ask them to contact the last registered owner??

That is a lot of work for a $300 bike eh?

depends how rich / lazy you are i suppose.......

it just a shame to let a nice bike go to waste..... i feel she wants to be back out there amongst the oil and grime and soi dogs, but at the mo she is just gathering dust down our side alley....... like a caged and shackled tiger sad.png

If you really wish to see it back on the road

I think I would consider giving it to a needy kid or lady down the road who could use it as is for work etc

But seeing it I just figured really not worth the hassle of tracking down owners & trying to get

signatures & papers etc. with the thought of selling it.

Also it looks like a re-spray & that could have a few reasons attached too.

Good luck though which ever way you decide to go.

  11. Here it is- I hope to take delivery by late next week- it looks black because it's in the shade, but it's actually metallic midnight sapphire blue:

Yup that is the way I remember them too

Seeing it again I realize now why you can lose so much weight by changing those exhausts.

I remember standing next to those 3 or 4 they had here in CM Kawasaki & thinking

    they were really sizable bikes

  12. Forget the book route

All you can really do is advertise & sell it as a INV bike

Meaning it comes with an invoice of sale is all.

Most folks realize they will never be able to register the bike & either use it for parts

or chance riding it on the road.

Depending on the bike it could also be used at a race track

What kind of bike is it?

  13. The next thing will be an ECU reflash, but that won't happen for a while as I'll have to send the unit to the States or buy a complete unit to do it myself.

So the PC5 only deals with fuel control? By re-flashing you will do some engine timing adjustments?

  14. The Unrideables

    Published on May 11, 2013

During the the glory days of 500cc racing in the 1980s and early 199os,

two stroke 500cc Grand Prix bikes produced 160 HP and weighed just 120kg.

Men like Kevin Schwants, Wayne Gardner, Wayne Rainey, Eddie Lawson and Randy Mamola,

made up just a handful of brave and wild blokes, that were capable of riding them to the limit.

In this documentary the riders share their memories of this classic period.
