Will there still be a wedding party yes / no?
-
Does anybody know how much those Thai 'computer engineers' make per month at for example Tuk Com in Pattaya?

Teamviewer pricing is odd and makes little sense to me.
There is a huge jump in cost from free to registered, and I think that they would be better served by allowing the user to connect to (say) 10 other devices for free or 100 other devices for (say) USD50 or 500 other devices for (say) USD200 and an unlimited number for (say) USD500. Or maybe introduce a pricing model that gives you so many hours of connection time per month. Either way people would actually be paying in accordance with what they need. And I also think that this payment should include free version upgrades.
I know companies that still use V6 because they are too cheap to pay for an upgrade, and this causes problems for anyone else who wants to install a more recent version on top of theirs.
>>> a pricing model that gives you so many hours of connection time per month
I fully agree with you, a kind off 'pay per use'

21.700 for just one workstation...that is heavy....If you have a laptop is already a 2nd....
Any license is lifetime, you pay for the current major version. There are no monthly or annual payments.
This is true for both Teamviewer as well as Remote Utilities
well every software I bought so far was for lifetime....Still too expensive for a small business.
Well if you pay THB 21.700 and can use it - for example - 15 years then daily it's only THB 4 per day, it all depends on how long you want to use it.
-
Appreciate that but please understand if you operate like that the computers are wide open to attacks.
I'm not sure that this is the case. Both programmes use specific login servers to facilitate connections and as far as I know there are no directly accessible ports or services.
Anyway, remote control software that requires a user to be present 24/7 is rather pointless as far as I'm concerned.
I agree.
In the 'old days' with PCAnywhere you had to install the host on all the servers and change their ports so you could access all your servers using different ports and YES all servers where all exposed to the internet.
With Teamviewer and Remote Utilities the servers / PC are exposed to the login servers of Teamviewer and Remote Utilities, so let's call it 'indirect' not 'direct'!

Thanks RichCor, will have a look at that as well.

Oh the program is called "Remote Utilities", I thought you mean use the remote utilities in Windows 7 / 10 like remote desktop......

Thanks for all your comments and recommendations but I did not see a real alternative for Teamviewer - was afraid of that already.....

It's every year the same and every year you will hear the same as well "We solved the problem, next year no flooding"
Remark: not sure if even European cities can handle this amount of water!
-
It's all about location, location and again location!!!
I use 3BB but this does not mean that you can also use 3BB and it will work, again it's all about location!
Check in your street / soi / moo baan what they use and why?
Where in Pattaya do you live?

I never knew anything about an American being able to own 100%. Is this a new rule? I am an American with a company but I only own 49%. It was incorporated about 5 years ago and I had to have 2 partners. Can someone explain?
I think we have a troll ........

I used Teamviewer before and I think it is one of the best software to take over a PC over Internet.
To use it legally I need to pay THB 21.700 for a lifetime license - https://www.teamviewer.com/en/licensing/index.aspx
Do people on this board use alternatives that are just as easy to use as Teamviewer so no need to configure your Firewall or port forwarding?
Thanks for your answer.

That's him, eh, that's her

>> Without a work permit, your can't open a bank account - some banks and branches do yes but legally NOT allowed.
As some posters mentioned - this is not true
I think I should have written "With a tourist visa you can't open a bank account", you either need a work permit OR a NON-Immigrant O visa (or something similar) - correct?
-
I do not see any strange in this storey.
On every ATM card I have there is an "expired date", YOUR responsibility and YOUR responsibility alone to renew it before it expires - period.
You can only closed a bank account at the same bank you opened it OR you withdraw all your money and not use it anymore for two years, then the bank will close it automatically
Without a work permit, your can't open a bank account - some banks and branches do yes but legally NOT allowed.
Last and not least DON'T use your logic in Thailand, it will not / never work here!
Basically - if you want to live here follow their rules and don't try to implement your rules ......

In March this year I was more or less forced at Jomtien Immigration to sign a paper with those rules on it!
Didn't want too but had no choice, didn't want / can't to argue with an Immigration Officer that it is not a law yet as I will always lose.....

I hope he is not using his own doors :-)

The EU has no time for those important issues, they are all very busy with design of the new logo for their new porcelain plates, coffee cups and golden cutlery.
They also working very hard on how many dust particles are allowed in the air, what kind of motor is allowed in a vacuum cleaner and the how many labels are needed in a T-Shirt.
Don't overload them with migrant issues!

Not want to go back, working fine.

Have a look at: http://www.bupa.co.th/en/individuals.aspx
