You cannot cloud seed during the drought season. There is little moisture in the air and it won't be successful. Please do your homework before making stupid comments. They admitted to doing it just two weeks ago

Link please to where they admitted to cloud seeding two weeks ago in the middle of monsoon season when the country is flooded.

Seems you do not know much about Thailand ;), she saw a 35 million baht car, its now time to suck as much money as possible.

With compulsory insurance, you pay, they reimburse, unless hospital has a direct billing with insurance company.

What she did not account for is because its  35 million baht car, very likely owner also has enough money for the lawyers and police and if they start to dig, they may  end up finding out there were less eggs or it can also turn out to be her fault, many unforeseen scenarios can develop when someone has access to this kind of money

    Er, ok.

Look up the Royal Rain making project. They even admitted to doing so when they recently sold the technology to Indonesia and named the cities that would be affected. Educate yourself.

I know about Royal Rain Making.  They do this during the height of the drought season (around Jan-March), usually in northern Thailand to help bring rain and / or extinguish forest fires.  Sometimes they do it to prevent big hail storms (it hastens the precipitation before ice crystals have chance to form).

But your assertion that they are still doing this to make rain in monsoon season and that they should just stop and make it nice and sunny for tourists is one of the most ludicrous things I have read on here - and that is saying something.

So, come on, I am waiting to be educated.  Show me where they are cloud seeding in the middle of rainy season and localised flooding.  I can't wait for this education!

Do you have some source for this? I was in Thailand in the beginning of this year and it was definitely required back then.

Here the government advice in July 2021 about how to self isolate at home if you have Covid.

And (anecdotal I know) my friend tested positive for Covid in the Phuket sandbox in November 2021 and they were allowed to isolate in their room until they tested negative.  No hospital, no hospitel.  Honestly, they dropped that thing long ago.

Again. There is not a single word in this post that states the 45 day visa exempt can be EXTENDED for 30 or 45 more days in country at immigration. One expert mentioned it would be 30 days. But can someone FINALLY let all of us know what the exact extension can be for?  I completely understand that a 30 or 45 day extension at any immigration office can be denied for some reason. My question is can it for SURE at least be attempted for 30 or 45 days more?  Can you please prove it? Thanks!
Just because the 30 day visa exempt can be extended 30 days does not equal that the 45 day visa exempt can be extended 45 or 30 days. Do you know why? TIT

With TIT in mind. Is this 45 day visa exempt ( for countries that have been given 30 in the past) be available until EXACTLY 3/31/23 or as the article states " the end of March" the end of March can be March 26 th!
    Thanks again.

Do you get that nervous / anxious over every single thing you read??

All very well for you to defend the inept English translation but let's not forget that this is a sign at a major bus station and there is no excuse for authorities getting this so very wrong.

No it isn't.  It is written on the side of a rickety old red and white bus that has probably never seen a tourist in its 50 years of service.  And honestly I had no problem understanding it, I'm not sure what the big deal is here.

Totally missing the point.  Did I read the 'detailed court verdict?', you ask.   Of course not.  Did I 'read the cases of both sides?'  Again, a big no.  Neither will 99% of the people who see the news article--and, apparently that also includes you, from your above post.

Many readers will come to the conclusion, as I did, that Thailand is being vindictive and petty to a large company that is important to Thailand.  It's all about perception--and the perception is bad.  Your final sentence makes my point nicely: 'Yet you all jump to the same conclusion that Thailand= wrong.'   Yes, we're all coming to the conclusion that Thailand is wrong in its actions in this case, and it's not a good look for Thailand, especially given some past bad behavior with foreign companies working in Thailand.  I stand by my previous post.

Feel free to stand by it.  I stand by my assertion that is a company (large or small) is caught cheating taxes and breaking laws they should expect to be punished and should not just be let off in order to not give out a "bad look".  If you do that then everyone knows they can act with impunity and Thailand will be too scared to take them to court less it be seen badly.

You are aware that there are also two corruption investigations ongoing; one in Thailand and a federal US enquiry that are looking into allegations that Toyota paid several million dollars in an attempt to bribe Supreme Court judges to overturn their tax dodging conviction.

But yeah, this is bad form by Thailand, Toyota should be let off the hook because, erm, just because.

You will of course be aware Toyota manufacture a lot of their own parts through Denso, a company they partially own, and these parts are manufactured in Thailand......

And of course all auto companies can buy parts from whichever supplier they want, local or abroad.... Funny as reading this thread you would think Thailand is awful for manufacturers which makes it strange that off the top of my head i can think of the following auto companies with large facilities here:

Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Ford, Suzuki, BMW, Ducati, MG, GWP, Hino, Mazda, Harley D, Triumph, Yamaha,

Mercedes too.  Car assembly factory and also a battery plant.

  9. 17 minutes ago, smutcakes said:

Another?? Who were the others? In the last few years new auto companies investing in Thailand include MG, GWM, BYD... which have left?

    Correct.

GM left but that had absolutely nothing to do with "stupid import taxes".  It had to do with GM's general demise in this region.  The Thai factory used to make Holdens but they killed that brand and also withdrew from many LHD markets.

And guess what, they didn't go to Vietnam!

You are trying to bring logic against what is just one more general, ignorant, automatic anti-Thai comment in this thread.  You may as well urinate into the wind.

Way to shoot yourself in the foot, Thailand.  Terrible, short-sighted, flat-out dumb decision.  Learn to play the long game.   Is there nobody in charge with a working brain willing to step in and waive the penalty?   The goodwill garnered would be worth 10 times the fine, and also show other companies Thailand wants to work with companies doing business in Thailand, not gouge them.

So a company can cheat on import duties to the value of 10 billion baht and it should just be waived to show good will.  That would show the world that companies can come and work in Thailand and just do what they want because they will be let off.  Brilliant.

Have you read the detailed court verdict?  Have you read the cases of both sides?  Where do you get your information from that says this is the tax department being short sighted and dumb?  Or are you just saying that because it is Thailand and Thailand must be wrong?  Toyota have already said they will comply and pay up.

I haven't read the detailed judgement or the detailed cases of either side.  I therefore am in no place to make a judgement.  And I am sure that is the case for every other poster here.  Yet you all jump to the same automatic conclusion that Thailand = wrong.
