Jeez, you forgot already that you posted that 22% regret their choice of an EV. Ergo 78% are happy with their choice, no? https://chinaeconomicreview.com/one-in-five-chinese-ev-owners-wouldnt-buy-another/ Because it is so important to you I have found a link that shows that is kind of an average approval rating for a car. Here's how many people would buy the same car again (interestingly an EV brand tops the list, sorry) A 78% approval rating such as in your story is actually quite high. https://www.consumerreports.org/cars/car-reliability-owner-satisfaction/most-and-least-liked-car-brands-a1291429338/

No need to get your knickers in a twist. I am not claiming something surprising, You posted that 78% of Chinese customers were happy with their EV. I was merely pointing out that, generally, that is about the average for any type of vehicle. It's not a major claim, just common sense. If I said the sky was blue would you need a link? What about saying water was wet? Of course some people will regret buying an EV if they haven't properly researched things. Buy one without home charging and you would regret it for sure. Buy one if you need to drive hundreds of kilometres at a time on a regular basis and you would probably regret it. You said 78% of people are happy, that sounds about right. The 22% made a mistake. Personally I regret buying an ICEV as I spent 2.4m baht on it and now I could get a BYD Seal Performance for 800k less with better technology, much better performance (0-100kmh in an instantly accessible 3.8s as opposed to the sluggish, non linear and noisy 6.6s that I have now) and with a much nicer driving experience. I could buy a Deepal L07S for 1.15m baht less, and they are fantastic (I have been in one and it is gorgeous). Heck I could buy one for my wife too! Of course they weren't on the market four years ago when I bought my ICEV but if I had my choice again today it would be a no brainer.

Electric Vehicles in Thailand

er.......I was replying to you when you hinted that you see something special, or magical engines without pistons. Maybe you were just being a wankel. -
New headline for you: 78% of Chinese EV owners happy with their choice. "According to a survey conducted by the UK's Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) in 2020, approximately 75% of car owners in the UK are satisfied with their current vehicle. Here's a breakdown of the survey's findings: 75% of respondents reported being "very satisfied" or "satisfied" with their current vehicle. 15% reported being "neutral" or "neither satisfied nor dissatisfied". 10% reported being "dissatisfied" or "very dissatisfied" with their current vehicle. It's worth noting that these figures are based on a survey of over 2,000 UK car owners and may not be representative of the entire UK population. Additionally, the survey did not ask about specific aspects of car ownership, such as fuel efficiency, reliability, or maintenance costs. It's also important to consider that car ownership is a complex and multifaceted issue, influenced by a range of factors, including personal preferences, lifestyle, and environmental concerns." Can't link to it as it was a summary from Grok, but the point is obvious.

Apart from the Wankel, yes they all have pistons. Point being? I actually think the Wankel is a pretty cool design and I applaud Mazda for using it - the RX7 is one of my all time favourite cars. The RX8, meh. Although, like all ICEs, it is deeply flawed and inefficient. -

Even modern American cars run 60 year old technology. The ICE hasn't really changed much since they were invented, although improvements in efficiency have been made the basic inefficient principal has not. Some of us prefer to move with the times - although yeah, I am a hypocrite as I have two ICEVs and no EVs. I do appreciate the fact that EVs are far more advanced and modern though, shame you can't see that. -

Just pulling your leg as I know you can take it. An MGB, yes. But not an MG4 X Power or an MG Cyberster. -

Still banging on about that? Did your boyfriend run away with someone who drives an MG? Did you lose a drag race to one in your crappy Transam? Something triggers you about MGs specifically. Have you spoken to anyone about this? There is help available. #prayfortransam -
Oh my word, there is so much wrong in this post I don't know where to start, EVs are more expensive than ICEVs? Really? And EVs are more expensive and complicated to maintain? Really? Do you understand what an EV is and how it works? COnversely do you understand what an ICEV is an how it works and how often they need servicing?

JB has already beat me to it, but it is an EV, hence it drives like an EV, hence people loving them. EVs are fantastic to drive - I believe that might have been mentioned once or twice. If all CS suddenly closed EV owners would be a bit screwed but not really. They can still charge at home giving them a range of 400-500kms depending. They can also plug their car into any domestic power socket anywhere for what they call granny charging. In short they can still get around. How many people have Hydrogen filling stations at home? -

Just a friendly tip - your posts would be much easier to read if you used paragraphs / line breaks. They are just walls of texts which makes them hard to read. -
TM30 Registration (Sorry)
josephbloggs replied to josephbloggs's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Just reporting back that my TM30 submission is confirmed. Once I got over the initial registration process problem that drove me to post here for help (not giving the documents a name in the boxes) the rest was surprisingly easy. Easy to complete the registration of the house owner (my wife), and then easy to submit a TM30. I didn't receive a confirmation by email as others say they did, but easy to extract a PDF from the site that I can print and bring along when I do my extension. Well done Thai immigration, it works pretty well. -
Elon Musk posted this on Twitter / X this morning. Absolutely shockingly misleading! They are close to $40k - you can't include petrol savings in the list price (with small print)!! And the petrol savings are over what timespan? I generally like Elon for his achievements and vision, although dislike his ring wing nonsense. But this just seems desperate and is really shady. Imagine a train company saying London to Liverpool is £40 (rather than the £100 it actually is) because you are saving the £60 you'd have to spend on petrol if you were to drive. Tesla must be seriously hurting, and stunts like this diminish their credibility.

Your last sentence is nonsense. EV owners prefer them over ICEs because they are far superior in nearly every respect: performance, comfort, technology, simplicity and running costs. That is the only reason they prefer them. If something better came along (like what?) I don't see any EV owner sticking with EVs. But what else is coming along that can compete? It's certainly not hydrogen. I came across this article today, Oh dear. Class action lawsuits pending against Toyota by people sucked in by their hydrogen misinformation. https://insideevs.com/news/708375/toyota-mirai-hydrogen-stations-close/#:~:text=Several owners have gone as,50 miles just to refuel. -

No problem buying American products? American / Western propaganda works, you are a walking talking example. Sad really. -

No, PDFs are fine. Hou'll see from my follow ups I found where I was going wrong and it worked. -
TM30 Registration (Sorry)
josephbloggs replied to josephbloggs's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
As I have just done this for our house in my wife's name, we just needed ID card and blue book (tabien bahn). So I imagine it would be the same for you. You need to upload these during the initial registration stage (see my posts above). Once your property is registered to be somewhere that can receive foreign "guests" you can then move on to the actual filing of a TM30 for yourself. -

Do you think Gabriel Brindusescu decided to research and do an article on solid state technology, he independently contacted Toyota for information, dug in on their research, weighed it up and wrote an article? Or did Toyota release a PR piece which he lapped up and reworded? You do know how the press works, right? Most of these publications are fed press releases. Oh, and by the way, Autoevolution gives his bio: "When it comes to car preferences, he will tell you that classic cars are the best, especially old American muscle. There are few modern day cars that get him really excited, and don’t ever dare to ask him about hybrids or EVs if you don’t want to see him mad excited." It's not you is it?? -

Thanks. Actually that didn't work but you did steer my attention in the right direction. I needed to give both documents a name by typing in these boxes. Seems to have worked now. Woo hoo!! Thanks for the help!
