Are you also worried the sky will fall in? It seems you worry a lot. BTW the dmax is both dirty and smelly, no matter what you think. (Not an EV owner, just someone who is not a fan boy of EV or diesel unlike many)=. Diesels are smelly, dirty, rattly, even if you have a 1990's CD player blasting. Modern EVs are silent, comfortable, and have Apple Car Play or Android Auto wireless connections.

And how much would a BYD driver had to spend in that time? Ah, you don't know do you. 17 years in a rattly diesel truck, how much have you spent on oil changes, filter changes, fuel pumps and filters, transmission issues, differential issues, timing belts, spark plugs, cooling, be honest. How much spent on servicing all the mechanical parts that an EV doesn't have/? And where's your evidence that in that time you would have to spend 1m+ on battery changes? Oh, you don't have any do you.... I agree that the 15-20 year lifecycle of an EV battery is unknown in real world use, but in testing it seems to be not an issue, hence offering unlimited 8 or 10 year battery warranties being common, with one manufacturer talking about unlimited lifetime warranties.

Great insight! I think you forgot to share the link to this statement from Volvo, as it does not match with anything I have heard senior Volvo people say either privately or publicly. Please update us, thanks. Or did you make it up? Link link link.

That's great news, fantastic! The bad news is that you are driving around in a noisy, dirty, smelly, uncomfortable, old fashioned, 17 year old pickup truck. Thanks for sharing.

Why do people do this? The OP said she wants information on Chinese EVs, so people recommend big old pick-up based diesel tanks or rattly diesel pick up trucks. Why?

Non B to Non O Issue / Advice

Thank you, I will check on this. And yes, it's not a visa, it's an extension of stay, my fingers just automatically type "visa" and my brain sometimes forgets to override them. -
Non B to Non O Issue / Advice

Ths is great information, thank you. So I can leave, get a 90 day non O with no proof of funds, re-enter, and when my money is seasoned for two months I can apply for the one year extension of stay at CW. This sounds ideal. Is Savannahket the only option for this or is it the same at any consulate/embassy? It would be preferable to go somewhere easier to get to that I can fly directly, but if it is only Savannahket then so be it. Thanks again. -

Yes thanks, that's all in hand. I will go with my emplyer to cancel visa and work permit (it's a digital WP so nothing to hand back) on 9th April then I will get a 21 day extension to leave the country. -

Thanks. If I leave on 30th April, come back with 30 days, then get a 30 day extension, I should be able to apply when I have 15 days left on my extension as my money will have just about have been seasoned for the necessary time by then.......but it will be close. -

Thank you. I will read through that thread and yes, UbonJoe is sorely missed - a truly wonderful, knowledgable and helpful man. RIP. -
Whislt you come across as a bit pompous / officious for posting something like that it's actually true. And the Swiss guy has shown he is not afraid to abuse the defamation law and computer crimes act as he pressed charges on the ambulance drive under both of them after he posted the video of him.

What a coincidence! I just came back from Villa where I bought stuff to cook for dinner. At one point an old lady was browsing cereal and had left her trolley in the aisle. I immediately clenched my fists and was about to pummel the Hell out of her and smash her stupid face in to the floor, but weirdly - I don't know what came over me - but I smiled and said "excuse me", and she immediately apologised, smiled, and moved her trolley. She doesn't know how close she came to a violent end, lucky lady.

Oh, that's not good.

In all seriousness the boat looks great, and sailing from Bangkok will be a winner. I recently drove from Bangkok to Samui and it was eight hours there, nine hours back, plus 90 minutes for the ferry and a bit of waiting around time. 23 hours is a long time, but I know it is a long way, so it is what it is. Personally I feel it's just too expensive. I can drive there for about 2,000 baht in petrol plus 550 for the ferry. And I can take four adults in comfort. 2,500 baht for a car, plus 3,500 for the most basic seat is 6,000 minimum one way for one person and you have nowhere to sleep. I know it's an "experience" and it looks great but for me it's not worth it at that price, I would just drive. I wish them luck as they have had a huge run of misfortune over the last couple of years, it looks very professional and well designed and the route makes sense, but for me they've priced themselves too high. I hope I am proved wrong.
