  1. Some people just can't help themselves ???? What many don't realize is that Fox 'News' is actually licensed as an entertainment channel, not a news channel. So it doesn't have to be as 'Fair and Balanced' as it claims to be. That's just another ten for a penny lie - par for the course with that lot. Lies have been Fox 'News' main source of revenue - till Dominion and Smartmatic came along.
  2. Speculation of course, but I suspect he slowed down to stop further on. I don't think I'd stop straight behind something I'd just done like that (innocent or otherwise) until I knew how people were behaving. Better to approach slowly from afar ... people could get quite murderous about it. This motorcycle carnage is heartbreaking ... Sounds like Granny, parent(s) and grandkid wiped out. So many of these deadly crashes happen in connection with U-turns. They really should be closed outside city limits.
  3. I'd rather not ... tens of thousands of commercial companies folding would potentially worse than 2008 - that's why they guaranteed the deposits so fast. Shareholders and the rest lose out for a change. It's especially critical because this is the economy's pioneer sector - tech innovation, hardware and software.
  4. That's true, I think I confused something there - actually it is a good deal for HSBC
  5. Rock and a hard place .... it'll be interesting to see what they do ...
  6. In that sense it's ALL sad, because none of those women would give most of these incels a passing glance if it wasn't for the money.
  7. This basically what I was getting at. Right now they're whispering about 'pausing' further hikes. In the past 08 / 02 they had to ramp 'em right back down pretty quick ...
  8. Indeed, why should the US worry about Thai accounts? Hence my question. HSBC was badgered into buying up the UK accounts to protect UK startups, not UK banks, which is the thrust of my comments. Beyond that the (Thai) banks have to answer question 2 of my post. Question 3 is obviously going to be debated heavily in the coming weeks. It has been debated since the first basic civilizations went under thousands of years ago on the Euphrates after destroying their own environments.
  9. 555 I think HSBC only took the UK holdings. Not the whole bank.
  10. The choice of picture in the ASEANNOW newsletter is very good. Really boosts the headline statement of crowded skies.
  11. '' ... P80 Air, Really Cool Air, Landarch Airline and Siam Seaplane. ... They join a crowded sky over Thailand which already has Thai Air Asia, Thai Airways, Thai Lion Air, Thai Viet Jet, Nok Air and Bangkok Airways. ...'' Does this country seriously have the regulatory infrastructure and human resources to handle so many carriers in everything from safety to finances? Maybe I'll buy (on credit of course as a tech heavy startup with only online pax services) a plane or two myself. Could be fun. Get in on the act.
  12. I think the more important question is how many Thai tech startups had their money there? How will the collapse affect them? Biden says depositors will be protected 100%, even those with deposits larger than the $250000 guaranteed protection. Will foreign deposits also be protected? Can they readily access their cash like right now because that's when they need it. Could Thaitechs go to the wall? Never mind the banks. They have not addressed that - it looks like they haven't even thought about it in those terms. The second question is how high Thai bank holdings are in long term bonds whose prices have slumped as a result of interest rate rises, therefore hollowing out the real market value of those holdings. This is a real question which is also not addressed in the BOT statements. It's really interesting when you look back, since the dot.com bust of 2000 (as far back as I go) every time the Fed hikes rates, there's a financial crisis and they have to drag 'em back to rock bottom again. And here we are again. Now the whispers are the Fed may have to 'pause' planned hikes. Could it be the system is no longer fit for purpose as it is? It is clearly unsustainable anyway if the planet is to survive in any inhabitable shape whatsoever for anything other than cockroaches.
  13. I suspect even the IDC is better than the Bakhmut meat grinder ... could be possible to survive on rice and fish heads for a couple of years till it's all over ...
  14. I am stunned they even do this ... All reputable firms and banks in my experience tell clients they NEVER do exactly this ... Wow! ... ????
  15. Noone with two brain cells to rub together expects this thing to keep anyone out. It's a clear demarcation and it'll undoubtedly be alarm rigged. Mainly so the Neo-soviets know where they shouldn't even stick a toecap over. It'll be interesting to see if Putin claims it encroaches on Russian territory ????
  16. I have a teapot I can pray to for anything I wish. It always lets me know: yes, no, or not yet. Without fail.
  17. It's a gross safety lapse and makes you wonder what else they missed or how effective they'd be in an emergency ... did they check to ensure the fire extinguishers were in place and serviceable before departure? I think they got away with it pretty lightly. Then again I think they'll be at their sharpest from now on - they won't get away with a thing after this.
  18. Accessible prescription free at any pharmacy - 30 baht for 10x 5mg average
  19. Pattaya's fine if you know your way around and also know too mutt.
  20. If the emergency involves your brains hanging out, major trauma like a shattered spine or things like strokes you won't be traveling anywhere ... Just saying ...
  21. Well then that merely makes song thaews a lesson in patience and good road behavior for the kamikazes doesn't it?
  22. What does that have to do with my comment? My comment says there are plenty of secular arguments against child sexual exploitation/paedophilia. And people who claim otherwise are talking rubbish. That's all.
