  1. That is very sad.... are these the same guys who routinely bash Thai ladies on this forum? And then it turns out that they were horrible husbands?
  2. I surely sympathize w/your situation.. we took a favorite boy dog to the vet on her last day... I thought he might put her down but he just gave her a shot of vitamins and I sat w/her all night until she passed on her own... In these tough times could you maybe find a neighbour who could use a stipend? Though as someone who has had loving dogs put down, I do not regret sparing them pain... Take care of yourself... and hope you find what you need. I have heard of vets in your area who will perform that service.
  3. do you really think this is a Thai issue only? or just an excuse to bash?
  4. They might tell your mommy.... ?? I rarely carried mine even when travelling... 20+ year as well..
  5. I am here a long time... never been asked once for my passport... DL - yes, on a rare occasion... just keep a copy on your phone... I have also been contacted for advice from people who have never been here but want to retire here... they have a million questions, but never make it here... I always tell them best to visit first... they don't - so, good luck.. I guess covid changes things...
  6. It was just normal paced walking, maybe slow if anything... but when someone has an IQ of 20 it is difficult to imagine what they might be thinking... you just smile and wave and be glad they are not holding sharp objects... for their own sake as well
  7. Explode as in blow apart and there is nothing left of them? I like Bounty Boy in the 5th at Belmont...
  8. filthy lucre... well known it is germy as all hell... and you are still here... I am sure that is how the famous phrase came about - - - "Keep the change - please the lord, keep the change!!"
  9. You are way too sensitive... you don't have a wife or GF - right?
  10. I always did it the day before never a problem... our immigration office was a 2 hour drive from home... nobody ever said anything.
  11. they are people like everyone else, families good and bad... the nearest one to my home in the village had a moron husband who used to yell out to me and giggle when I would walk past... "wing wing" then laugh to the full extent of his 20 IQ.... though the wife was clever enuf to run a shop and when her 15 yr old niece came to stay, and my 16 yr old nephew started banging her, banished her back to her home village and claim a 50K baht reward was due to her, saying that the girl was pregnant [never any proof] I don't stop in there and ask how mom and pop are... We usually hang at the soup restaurant of another neighbor. That family has enough stories to keep us all busy. You live in a village and everyone knows everything about everyones mom and pop w/o having to ask. You live in a village and your kid has a problem at school and you know about it before the kid gets home from school... But, maybe your idyllic view makes you happy...
  12. I think happiness is a plateau... if it is a high enuf plateau, you level off and feel content. Happiness is also a fleeting state of mind, different for each of us... yeah? how many of them do you have there... a wife is nice, and a 2nd wife but then they fight so you need a 3rd wife but then 2 gang up against 1 and then you need a 4th wife to even things out.. maybe just keep the first wife and get a massage.... that can bring an hours worth of happiness maybe...
  13. to seek out well written paragraphs on this forum? sort of like the old song - 'looking for love in all the wrong places' eh?
  14. or with those interests, probably could have just as easily stayed home..
  15. oh no no no... surely it,,, my fault? anyone but your fault? Don't you have a guy in your life to blame?
  16. The flights through Asia on my first RTW trips were near empty - easily affording us the center seats where we could have a row of five seats to stretch out in... I do remember one time on a flight out of Burma being asked, all 8 of us passengers, to move our seats to help distribute the weight for take-off on the way to Kathmandu... and heigh heigh, aweigh away we went - our youth blossoming in fearless travail, off and oft to flight in pursuit of life's next adventure, the Yak and Yeti, ahoy, and beyond,
  17. Are we reading the same forum? What did you have for breakfast, I want some.
  18. I guess you have me suitably confused...
  19. if you don't want comments, why would you post?
  20. you need the 'as compare to' aspect to your question... first and maybe most important... getting older and debilitated in any country is not going to look good on paper... would you rather be in a wheel chair here or somewhere else? Not fun to think about but at least here nursing care homes are cheaper than most places in the West.. people who separate or survive their spouse will have easier companionship here... For me, and from what I hear, the West looks like a terribly cold and lonely place...
  21. why don't you see them both today at the same time? you can have some extra time to make new goals.
