The Left choose to open the Lawfare genie's bottle in a move that will come about and bite them in the behind in the next four years. The Lawfare genie's bottle should have been welded shut permanently, but fools will be fools for short-term satisfaction. There ain't nothing like throwing your political enemies in prison it seems. But remember: What comes around goes around. Now the Trump administration and the POTUS decided to pull the security clearances of most of the people in the previous Democrat administrations and their apparatchiks in the security services. Now imho, this is directly related to letting the Lawfare genie out of its bottle in the first place. However, this sets a precedent: expect each future administration to strip the security clearances of members of the other party's cabinet and administration - hell for nothing other than spite. The Cancel_Your_Political_Enemy's_Security_Clearances genie's bottle should have been welded shut permanently too, More fools being fools for short-term satisfaction. So remember: What goes around comes around. 👆👆👆👆👆👆👆 Wash, Rinse, Repeat Ad-Infinitum

Climate Crisis Reaches Critical Point as Global Records Shatter in 2024
connda replied to Social Media's topic in World News
How old is she? We've been hearing this doom and gloom about "a man-made climate catastrophe in the next tens years" since before AOC was born. Yet here we are. The Polar Icecaps haven't melted yet, the Obama's and the Gores and the billionaires funding the Climate ScienceTM who live on Martha Vineyards and Long Island and in other coastal enclaves of the Rich and Famous haven't been flooded out of their beach-front mansions by "global warming induced polar ice-cap melting" like we've been promised. I'm disappointed. Me and Fox Maulder: "I Want To Believe." And also, young Miss AOC was a teen when Al Gore came out with the film An Inconvenient Truth, and then stated on NBC in 2006, ""We have a decade or so before we cross a point of no return." Well - we're still here and so are the Ice Caps as well as the homes of other climate activists like John Kerry, Bill Gates, and Obama. I tell ya what. I'll concede to those who are gluing their nipples to the London M25, or the I-5 in LA, or to the Heathrow or LAX tarmac, and throwing soup on priceless masterpieces in museums that they were right all along.....the day I see Obama, Bill Gates, and John Kerry flooded out of the beach-front mansions. Until then? 🐂 💩 Bravo Sierra -
The true feeling of being free in a foreign country in Asia
connda replied to camper star's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Some people are comfortable living outside the bounds of their "homeland." Most people are not. So, many of those of us who have traveled extensively during out lives and choose to live outside of our "homelands" probably do feel a sense of freedom. Those who can't leave are in a way - shackled. This life ain't for everybody. -

OMG There were never Cat 5 hurricanes during my life!!! But? There were! And killer-F5-tornados. And all other sorts of extreme weather events since I was a kid. The only difference is that the MSM and global elites are out there convincing the weakest minds that it's Man-Made-Climate-ChangeTM and that unless you live like a feudal slave and, better yet, stop breathing, The_World_Will_EndTM. It's freaking the cyclical nature of Nature. -

And then when the next Ice Age arrives, Life will again evolve to adapt. This has been going since the Earth began to support life. Climate always changes. Man isn't responsible - the Sun is - and sending your money to Al Gore or living like a feudal peasant while the elites hoover up your money and laugh isn't going to change the change. The climate with continue to change: warmer, cooler, warmer, cooler.......as it has been doing for millions of year.- 50 replies

Of course it did. You'll all die if you don't give all your money to Al Gore so that he can fight climate change. -

British Man Sparks Outrage in Thai Restaurant Incident
connda replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
I lived there (Korat) for three years, but I worked there. It's a nice enough place, but I prefer mountains over the flatness of that region. There IS an expat community there and I would not generalizes it as a bunch of "miserable bastards there waiting out their end." The city (mueang) has a lot to offer as does the surrounding area (Phimai, Khao Yai, other parks and historical artifacts). So basically, as someone who did live there? Really? Nonsense. -
British Man Sparks Outrage in Thai Restaurant Incident
connda replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
I tend to agree. The media itself is insinuating Thais and expats are in a major conflict, a position which in itself seeks to raise "tensions" on the English speaking side. It is inflammatory. It's an isolated incident where some drunk foreigners act like drunk idiots. I've seen drunk Thais acting like idiots as well in the past, but they understand the boundaries of their own culture. Drunkenness leading to idiotic behavior bypasses race and culture. -

Have you ever had a near-death experience (NDE)?
connda replied to connda's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
NDE are generally an experience of consciousness after clinical death. You were clinically dead as far as your heartbeat, just not conscious. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Near-death_experience -

I almost glissaded into a crevasse on Mount St. Helens pre-eruption. Don't have to worry about it anymore. That side of the mountain isn't there anymore. -

Trump’s Power Move: Banning Masks to End Campus Chaos
connda replied to Social Media's topic in World News
The Trump Administration is pushing the US toward a Constitutional showdown in the SCOTUS over First Amendment protections and the right of Freedom of Assembly and Freedom of Speech, and very possibly even Freedom of Religion. As much as I believe that this administration is on the right path on a number of issues, there are others - like this - that cause me concern. I fully expect a number of these so-called "illegal protests" on campuses as well as deportations of green card holders to end up in front of the Supreme Court. As a First Amendment absolutist, I may not agree with the protests, but I support "the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances." Whether Left or Right, no matter what the excuses are to attempt to infringe on the First Amendment protections, whether woke activists or MAGA nationalists - the First Amendment is sacrosanct and Inviolable. However, I'm not particularly sure how masking for anonymity can be protected under the Constitution, nor do I support masking in order to conceal one's identity while protesting. I've been in protests during the Vietnam War and even with feds on the roofs taking pictures, we'd just smile and shoot them a Peace Sign. ☮️ 🕊️✌️ For those who failed to take Civics in school or who are not US Citizens: Amendment I Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances. -
