  1. Wait until ChatGPT hallucinates and the Thai Immigration IOs act on made-up information.
  2. So have the cops started a dragnet to arrest all of the Thais who tagged the wall before him. Don't get me wrong, I don't condone the behavior, but Thailand needs to clean up it's own backyard before condemning stupid tourists. "Foreigners disrespect temple wall." Yet not a peep about your own citizens who don't seem to give a rip about your historic and sacred walls in their own country.
  3. Thais tagging temples you mean. For every "tourist" tagging a temple, there are 30 Thais who started before them.
  4. US tourist has sparked controversy by "defacing" a historical temple wall already covered with Thai graffiti. There, fixed it!
  5. "Golden Age for America?" When I left America I could afford to live there without a problem. Now? Housing costs are obscene. As a US veteran I might be able to obtain a housing voucher, but probably not given their rarity so there would be a real possibility that I'd be living rough on the street. Illegal immigrants are given priority housing and free medical in the state where I used to live. Average rent for a studio apartment is $1600. Rent has essentially tripled since I left. I spent eight years serving the country where I no longer can afford to live. So, the Golden Age for America? The American Dream is isn't even on life-support - it's a dead rotting corpse. And the American citizens are bent over a Trump stump and are given a golly good rogering by the wealthy including Trump. Yeah, it's a Golden Age for Trump, his family, and his friends as well as Congress and the Senate which manufactures millionaires on a congressional salary. F**k the rest of us and especially US veterans.
  6. Well written article. Had Vietnam had a retirement visa option, I wouldn't be here.
  7. On the flip side in Thailand - the Plan B for many are agents, although that may be Plan A for many.
  8. If push came to shove I'd head to the PI. There SRRV visa for those of us who are US veteran is even easier to obtain with less of a financial threshold. The PI, unlike Thailand, actually want retirees. And you can even buy into the PI's health system. Although I don't see it happening, it is my Plan B. FYI, I was stationed in the PI and I like the country and it's culture.
  9. You are more likely to get drug resistance gonorrhea or syphilis. If you're not engaging in homosexual (butt) sex, your odds are pretty low. Still, back when I was still enjoying the delights of the more youthful variety of Thai women, I worn condoms. Now - married and monogamous. I had my fun back in the day.
  10. Yeah - a broken neck will sort of end your holiday.
  11. I thought it was a forum rule not to post a single link with no corroborating text by the OP? It's happening more and more often. Should be report these when we see them. Otherwise AN is simply going to turn into a massive cross-link for MSM articles.
  12. Car 54. Haven't thought of that for years.
  13. Don't have pigeons where we live.
  14. Just curious how many of you live SSA deposit to SSA deposit?
  15. I've seen some deposits not showing up until the 7th of the month. it happens. June tends to be one of those months.
  16. Just showed up this morning. Looks like we haven't been DOGE'ed yet.
  17. I'm surprised the IDF doesn't sink it, but the world would howl if the little Greta curmudgeon was sent to the bottom of the Med in a sailboat compliments of Israel.
  18. If I use Reddit at all it's when I'm looking up technical information on things like computer and smart phone operating systems and technical workarounds. It's anecdotal information, but it can shed insights if I'm dealing with things like attempting to get a driver to work with a peripheral. Other than that I've no use for it.
  19. I don't believe Lefty or Righty stories unless I can glean facts from fiction and ideological claptrap.
  20. Do you believe the stories you read? In the main-stream media? Not really unless I can corroborate them myself with facts. Most of what comes out of the MSM nowadays in sensationalistic pablum that is twisted with a distinct Western, progressive liberal POV which often is just 🐂💩 and hyperbole.
  21. The Ballad of the "Big Beautiful Bill" A trillion for war, $1.2 to be exact, Iran and Yemen—new conflicts they’ve cracked, The MIC purrs, Raytheon’s stock soars, $80 billion in profits, while citizens become poor. Young blood, cannon fodder, sent to the fray, For Lockheed’s new missile, $44 billion to play, Forever wars, a corporate delight, While 45,000 bridges decay out of sight. Roads turn to rubble, highways to ash, $2.6 trillion needed, but Congress won’t splash, A mere $50 billion, a cruel little jest, For infrastructure’s corpse, laid bare in the West. Social safety nets bleed, $400 billion carved out, Medicaid’s a husk, “We The People” in rout, But campaign cash flows, $10 million a round, From Boeing, from Northrop—Congress is spellbound. They sip their champagne, in chambers of mahogany wood, Mocking the nation, as only they could, War hawks and fat cats, a devilish pact, Endless war profits, while the country is sacked. The Republic’s a husk, its bones turned to dust, War first, people last, "In MIC Do We Trust," The war pigs do banquet, a feast without cease, And the American Dream? A ghost, long deceased. -A collaborative tip of the hat to Grok3
  22. So essentially wealthy Thais aren't paying their taxes then?
